It's been said Maurice's voice was the most technically precise of the 3, as harmonized with both brothers' ranges. Mo said he sang the high harmony & he simply 'found' where that harmony was & went with it. Also, the rare times he & Barry sang together, their blended voices were so nice...wish they'd done more.

Maurice has always been the harmonist and actually did falsetto for the group long before Barry did! Example: 3:00, Maurice is singing the falsetto, 4:25 he's falsetto..etc.

Way back in the day, I had heard quite a few Bee Gees songs, probably not knowing who sang them, particularly How Can You Mend, but once I heard Fanny, that did it for me, and I was buying their albums right and left, as the geniuses that made that song, I just had to see what other gems they had which didn't make it to the radio (although Fanny did of course). About the time they burned out with disco and going to yet another new style, which I didn't like much, then came Andy, and he was better than they ever were, simply because every single song on his albums were good enough not to skip to the next track. The remarkable thing about Andy too, no two songs of his sounded alike, nor did any of it sound like the Bee Gees, apart from them maybe doing background vocals at times.

Dont want to correct you but i just had to. Maurice actually has the deepest voice out of the three of them. Barry found his falsetto for Tragedy. Maurice originally sang falsetto on this song. For anyone who doesn't know, oddly it was Maurice who sang the high harmony on most of their songs. When Barry and Robin sang together, without Maurice, their voices sounded similar. They explained this during their Larry King interview. Of course, when Robin sang alone, his voice was like no one else's.

On the Bee Gees live album 1976, Barry does the falsetto on the live album that he added in the studio for the sale of the record. And that's the story behind my favorite song Nights on Broadway. There is a video in which they (The Bee Gees discuss how Barry came to sing Falsetto during the Disco years and it tells how Barry was the only one who could do it. There are no songs prior to the disco age with any falsetto. This is a quote - ("The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958. Their lineup consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid-to-late 1970s and 1980s.")
