To be fair- Johnny depp basiclly created and improvised the whole character. Of course the vast majority of his lines are scripted, but the whole acting, some of the catchphrases and structure of some scenes, and even the art design of the character itself all came down to his ideas and willing to create a "17th century version of rockstars" (as he described pirates). He improvised the whole "ive got a jar pf dirt", bought a real 17th century firearm, had the idea of painting the weird bruise on his jaw that keeps gettting worse as an inside joke, and so on... I think it even came to the point of being the one responsible of having Keith Richards as his father

Probably the most underrated trilogy ever.. The first is really really good, the second is one of the most entertaining film I've ever seen, and the third one, beyond his flaws, his an epic and satisfying conclusion. The visuals are stunning, the soundtracks are among the best we've never heard, Jack Sparrow is probably my favorite fictionnal character, and Davy Jones one of my fav bad guys 🐙 I still remembered the very first time I saw Curse of the Black Pearl on VHS in 2003.. And since that I keep watching them with the same pleasure (just watch them two or three weeks ago) ❤️I just want some nowadays blockbusters to be this entertaining. The best thing about the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies is that they build in what Star Wars was in the 70s and 80s. The Special and Visual Effects are based on the concept of a dirty, used and gritty world. This will help them last forever because the quality of the effects won't go away since they don't look fake. The other great thing the fourth and fifth sequels don't do right is that Jack Sparrow is a supporting character. Even though the Academy Awards nominated him for a Leading Role, the screenwriters wanted to tell the story of Will and Elisabeth and use Jack as a character that helps Will and the audience learn about the pirate world. The second and third film, while bringing Jack closer to the leading role still tell the story of Will and Elisabeth and how whatever Jack does causes problems in their lives. Brilliant trilogy.
Such an epic movie franchise. When I first watched it I felt like i was part of their adventure im with Jack Sparrow. Hoping for a new movie.

And yet Amber, the real abuser, still has her role on Aquaman 2, and Johnny, the real victim, is still fired from Pirates. I'm done with Disney. The fact that they're still turning their backs on Johnny, even after it was revealed that he was the true victim in the relationship, is so sickening. #JusticeforJohnnyDepp

Pirates des Caraïbes c’est tellement de souvenirs, c’est tellement agréable de s’y replonger. 🤍
I find it fascinating that all these gorgeous shots were taken from the first three films. Goes to show how magnificently well made that original trilogy was.
What a great franchise. Masterpieces the first 3. The dialogue, acting, the general vibe of the films, just sooo mesmerising and captivating. The music as well. Pirates has been my favourite movie franchise for 3 years, and it will be for the rest of my life. Also the part of the music that begins at 4:04 is just awesome
This editing is simply wonderful and a great homage to a monumental achievement in pure entertainment! The trilogy (the latter ones don't really work in my opinion) is some kind of a miracle - created as a spin off of a Disneyland attraction they become something unique in tone, mood and excitement. The cinematography is amazing, the direction superb, the acting lovely, art direction out of scale and Zimmer produced some of his finest music ever for the third installment (I consider that soundtrack his best work ever). Again, you made me cry, I'm too emotional lately...
I wish you included the shot from the second movie when Jack shoots the gunpowder barrels in slow motion. But great editing as always!
