The beauty of Lake Mergozzo and a little hike on Mount Montorfano -Italy

In this video I take you with me to Mergozzo, a splendid location in the Piedmont Region, in Northern Italy.
Mergozzo, a charming fishing village overlooking the shores of the lake of the same name, is separated from Lake Maggiore by a strip of land and is a renowned holiday resort in the area.
This town has ancient origins, dating back to the Bronze Age, as evidenced by the remains of settlements now on display in the Antiquarium Museum which can be visited.
Its picturesque steep and narrow cobbled streets lead to the lake the central square which, as always happens in Italy, represents the center of life of the place.
The square is also dominated by a centuries-old elm tree, 400 years ago. Now hollow inside, this magnificent tree is the symbol of this place and certainly captures the attention of every visitor, who can then turn their gaze towards the lake and the enchanting natural scenery that characterizes it.
Lake Mergozzo is not a natural basin but was formed through erosion due to the continuous flooding of the Toce river which they dug for a long time forming this body of water which has the pride of being one of the cleanest lakes in Europe given the prohibition on circulating motor boats. Its beaches are in fact very popular during the summer season by inhabitants and tourists who take advantage of its splendid waters for a regenerating bath.
Also noteworthy in Mergozzo is the presence of the Church of the Assumption, with a baroque structure, whose origin dates back to 1,100. Of great impact is the wonderful and imposing facade with the statue of the Virgin that dominates it. The interior has works of considerable value but the incredible porch with the Chapel of the Via Crucis captures the attention, the recent restoration of which has brought to light very valuable frescoes from the 1700s.
If you pass by Mergozzo, also taste the typical dessert of the place, La Fugascina. You will not regret it....
My video then continues with a small hike on Montorfano Mount.
From Mergozzo, in fact, it is possible to follow different paths that run along the surrounding mountains, with splendid views of the lake.
I walked the fascinating Blue Path, which, with an easy 3 km route. in unspoiled nature, it leads up to the village of Montorfano, also of ancient origins, where it is absolutely a must to visit the beautiful Romanesque church dedicated to San Giovanni Battista.
Mount Montorfano is a granite mountain whose quarry, still active, has been exploited since 1800. This mountain was also the scene of the Cadorna Line during the First World War.
In this splendid area, therefore, you can spend relaxing days simply enjoying the unspoiled landscape, or go for walks that will certainly remain in your heart.

Is aways so good to see Italian towns and villagers. The structure and architecture of Italian old buildings is beautiful and since 15th century they still standing in full glory. Stairs up and down between all of the buildings , people walk daily and I am sure they are use to it. Thank you for your visit and for nice comments, is always good to read your wonderful thoughts. What a beautiful lake! I would like to stroll around or just sit on the bench and stare the beauty of nature.Would like to visit the old town ,see those old houses built in stones. Italy is so beautiful!

Italy really is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Its hard to dispute when you see jaw-dropping natural landscapes like this! Its a wonder how beautiful the lakes of Italy can be! I was fortunate enough to visit Lake Garda one time and you can see why its considered such a luxurious place! You'd be so fortunate to have a house alone the shorelines!
