Ойын-сауық
In this episode, I went to learn Kyudo from Jessica-san! Honestly it was a lot more complicated and difficult! Would love to try again in the near future.

“RE-JAPANESE” is the series where I as a Japanese person go learn Japanese culture but from non-Japanese people. The reason is over the years I've encountered so many Japan enthusiasts who know so much more about my culture than I do and I often end up learning something new about my culture from them.

What’s a “memory for the Kata”? Also can I come live there and train daily for like 5 months
I was practicing this before, gotta do it again! ありがと Toru san to Jess-san.🔥
Toru-san, you choose well having Jessica-san as your Kyudo instructor. She is a very serious and dedicated Kyudo practitioner. She is a great ambassador for the sport. This was fun to watch.

When she stretch the bow, it looked so graceful. Then bam. Love to learn this art. It seems it will teach you a bit of duscipline and philosophy.
If one day i should practice kyudo, i'd love to practice with Jess-san 😊 Thank you for posting this video Toru-san. Instructive and fun too.
Fascinating video!
Now I've gotta see you interview Bad Luck Fale or Jay White, also New Zealanders, who are also working in Japan as Pro Wrestlers who run their own Dojos.

Love that you had a video about archery. I am really fascinated in archery, really love to try it sometime. But I think it needs a strong and stable arms to hold the bow which I lack😅

Love the anime-like moment at 12:19🥰

I used to play kendo and Iaido until I' Dan anshi myself, ask me anytime for infos. P.S. for instance in Kendo practice, during a duel match the word "hikiwake" it actually means, draw, or even.

Hello! I train in Saitama where I live. If you would like help searching out a dojo in your area please DM me over on IG and I'll try to help😊
I used to play bow in my country long before, one of the things that I remember of my archer instructor teachings is when he told me: aim at the target where it will be, not at where it is now" it helped me a lot to progress. Superb video as ever, also great archery skills Toru-san and Jessica master. P.S. Btw, I was so surprised to appraise that the Kyûdo bow, is 3 times over the size of a long bow one, it's fascinating.

I couldn't find one for $200, even in fiberglass, they were over $400, so i settled with a Manchu bow to practice my long draw, $250.

what material is the bow?

This one is carbon. Yumi can also be .ade from fiberglass and from. Bamboo
Seems like he had better form that she did when using the rubber band, but he fell completely apart with the real bow. Was the draw weight too high?

The bamboo bows are heavier than fiberglass, really? I didn't expect to hear that, from what i understand, most people like higher quality laminated bows because they're lighter weight (and cause it rattles the hand less). Are you sure the bamboo is heavier than the fiberglass?
@jessintokyo
Жыл бұрын
My carbon bow weighs about 560grams my friends bamboo bow is 624grams. Also older and thicker bamboo bows are heavier than those made from more modern materials like carbon. Bamboo bows are not pure bamboo, they have layers of wood or carbon and wood running through the middle of them too.
