great shots I just got a GH5 in decemeber of 2023 still a beast of a camera

The ingenuity of Cubans to keep those old cars running (because the trade embargo left them with no other option) is a thing of wonder.

The look of this is stunning.

Wow amazing, I've been in Cuba 3 times, I filmed a short documentary in Havana and I can say this short edit captures the essence of the city. A proof that the GH5 is still an awesome camera and a great option regarding the low light issues or weird slow motion quality. I bought a A7Siii but I miss my GH5 every single day.

Just beautiful man. Loved it! The color grading was grading was excellent. Looks really film like. You obviously knew what you were doing. I just laugh when I hear people on the internet talking about the Panasonic 12-35mm has the video look. Those guys have a lot to learn. Wish you the best.

Absolutely beautiful. I just ordered a Lumix GH5ii and can't wait to get it. Can you share with me what you did to get such great colors? The clarity, color composition and overall cinematic feel of this film is the very best that I've seen on KZread from any camera in it's class! This is truly 'Hollywood' quality here! Well Done! Thanks for the kind words! The GH5II should be an even better camera, I am sure you'll love it! I think the most important thing is to nail exposure when filming and always look for interesting compositions and contrast (e.g. including both sunlight and shadows into your shots). Post-production then should be an easy process, just don't try to 'overdo' it.

Incredible results from that lens! Just wow! 10bit or 8 bit?

Beautiful piece of film making. I was surprised you were able to get such a filmic-look out of the Lumix 12-35 (was it the Version 2)? And did you use a grade to off set the 'digital look' that this lens normally gives (I have the Version 2 copy). Again, very well done and concise. Bravo!

Thanks! This was shot using the Mark I version of the lens. I normally dial down the sharpness in-camera to make it look less 'digital', and, depending on my needs, I may add sharpening back in post.

Great shots. What settings were you filming at? The slow-mo looks like 60FPS slow down to 40% speed for the 24FPS conversion.

This short cinematic film is wonderful! I really apreciate the "non-sterile" look and feel. I've watched it about 3-times because I love the old cars there and more importantly I'm giving attention to the nuances in your recording. I watched your other videos also. Between the GH5 and the Canon RP, was the recording experience drastically different? ...wish I could learn to color grade at your level. Be well.

Thank you! Both the GH5 and R6 are great cameras in their own respect but can't really be compared imo. Biggest difference is that the R6 is full frame and has stellar autofocus, whereas the GH5 is an MFT camera with no (reliable) autofocus at all. The GH5 was more fun to use though, and always delivered great results. I can also highly recommend the Lumix S5 which is basically a full frame GH5 with wonderful photo and video capabilities.

Wow. Just stunning! Could you please share your CinD settings, and any LUTS used. As I absolutely adore the look you have achieved.

Thanks! Not sure anymore, but probably dialed down all the settings to achieve the flattest look possible to work with. The edit was done in Premiere and the color grade was done in Davinci Resolve, where I used Matt Komo's v4 lut with further color corrections.

Omg this is exactly the look am after 0:23. Can anyone help me am new I purchased gh5 with 45-200 lens with no vlog. Now to get this results what parts do I need, lens vlog etc. The color grade il sort it out I need to know what you used parts

​@@glennaremoy This was shot in Cine-D, but I'd suggest shooting V-log for the best results and flexibility when color grading. Also see the other comments, I think all of your questions have been answered already. Good luck, the GH5 still is a great (video) camera!

I think that will become a problem, no? Doesn't come with VLOG preinstalled either.. I just want to get the same vibe you have here maan.. Gah! I'm in absolute love with this footage. You think Leica 12-60 2.8-4 can produce similar results or should I go with the 12-35 2.8? I'm going to use it mainly for making travel docs. Thank you so much for answer 🙏

@@glennaremoy Since all was shot in 60p I guess it was 8-bit then. Don't worry too much about the details, the GH5 is a very solid workhorse, especially if you're starting out. The Leica is an amazing lens, although it doesn't have a constant F2.8 aperture. I think you'll be just fine either way. I have an other video on my channel with the GH5, if you'd like to explore more!
