In 2011 The Beautified Project performed Kilikia live in London for a documentary which was filmed by BBC. Soon after, the band's American Label, St. Mongoose Entertainment, requested the song to be recorded. The music video for the song was premiered during 2011's Armenian Telethon, a charity programs which is viewed by millions of Armenians all over the world. The music video was shot by Armenian director Hovhanes Hovhanesyan at Akhtala Vank in Armenia's Lori region. The music was produced by the band's long-time producer, Serj Melkonyan.

I am both Greek and Armenian by blood . My Great Grandparents were both killed in Mersina[Mersin] Kilikia [Cilicia] back in the 1920's . My Grandfather Nicoghos Papazian gathered the rest of the family together and escaped to Alexandria ,Egypt . There he changed our patronymic from the Armenian Papazian to the Greek equivalent Papadopoulos both have the same meaning =Descendants ,sons and daughters of Priests ... this song is the story of Cilicia / Kilikia the land of my Paternal Ancestors .On our Maternal lines we are Greek from Cyprus ,Symi ,Kastellorizon and Kasos ... I know you wrote this 8 years ago, but hope you read this)) ☺️ The song is about Armenians and their lost kingdom Kilikia(Cilicia). They want to see it again the mountains 🏔, the churches, their homes and nature. They ask the world (universe) to return their Sun ☀️ (Cilicia). Even though I was born in Armenia , I miss my Cilicia♥️ somehow. There’s this emptiness that exists in all Armenians after losing their lands. Hope I’ll be there someday 🇦🇲
