The Beatles - And Your Bird Can Sing - Anthology 2 version - 12 string guitar part

This video is to replace my earlier video uploaded in January 2016 which had lower resolution.
In this HD version, you should be able to see more clearly the fingering on the fretboard.
This video covers the 12 string guitar part on the Anthology 2 version of And Your Bird Can Sing, the one with the stoned giggling by John and Paul.
I always liked the piercing guitar jangle of The Byrds that the Beatles adopted for the earlier version.
The 12 string parts are not difficult but would almost certainly tax a beginner of guitar.
I believe George used a capo on the second fret of his Rickenbacker 360/12 (almost certainly the second one he received in August 1965). Using the capo on the second fret makes it easier to get the strummed F# minor chords of the bridge to sustain.
The earlier January 2016 video will be made private. It clocked up 6,620 views during its run.

Danny, this sounds so very nice. When I saw the Ricky, I realized this would require headphones. Your tone is melting my brain. I expect nothing less from you my dude. Thanks for your commitment to tone. It means everything.

Wow that sounds so different! I must admit I've never seen a 12 string electric guitar.

I am honoured by your visit to my video, Comrade Stalin. Please be assured that I am completely innocent of whatever accusations of crimes that Comrade Beria has yet to decide on. Comrade Stalin will be interested to note that 12 string electric guitars have been around since the early 1960s. Unsure of the tone to dial in for the recording of the video, I beg forgiveness for taking the liberty of emulating the 12 string sound of the Byrds.

I believe that the Byrd's used one for turn turn turn on the intro, in hotel California or in ticket to ride. They are more here than what we think but they are very subtle

I can't play this on my 12 string because the capo won't fit over the neck :(

thanks for watching WickedFizz, I believe there are capos designed to handle the wider fretboards of 12 strings that you can buy.

@@Dannykhc Thanks but it's not to do with width. It's an acoustic Fender 12 string and the neck is very round and fat if that makes sence.

Thanks for watching Rich. If you would like to step this way, I explain the chords in a separate video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6WXz8aTe8a3lNI.html Be sure to read the notes in the description where I give a detailed explanation. You can then work out the equivalent chords without a capo.
