I was there. Couldnt beleive how poorly promoted it was, maybe 10,000 there. , but fuck me if it wasn't the BEST GIG I EVER SAW!!! I'm sure everyone who was fortunate enough to be there would say the same. Fuckkkkkkk I'm pretty sure they gave me everything except maybe Cottonfields but I maybe wrong. I counted 50 songs over 3 hrs with a 20min break. Effinngggg Amazing!!!

When I hear the cliche, “😢soundtrack of my life”, I instantly think of a few groups or musicians who truly embedded themselves into my musical life. Love ‘em or hate em, The Beach Boys had a huge presence in the pop culture of American Music during the 60s thru 70s.

The best backing band the Beach Boys ever assembled: Jeff Foskett, the Wondermints, John Cowsill, etc. They replicate Brian Wilson's arrangements impeccably. Their vocals fill out to a point where the Beach Boys themselves sound fresh and vibrant.

Saw them at Sydney Sports Ground in '78. Sat night after the rain and Sun arvo, when it was pissing down. I was 16. Loved them all my life. Neck to neck with Beatles. This particular night in 2012 blew my mind. Surf, drag cars, all the hits. 50 songs. Unreal. I understand they had dummy spit soon after but I effing cherished those memories! No one touches these guys about surf, sun, cars and summer. Not NOBODY!

Only think wrong is the location. Back in the early '90s, I saw them playing on Narrabeen Beach, set up right on the sand. Can't ask for a better backdrop - fresh salt air, hot sun, the sound of surf...and what's still the best beach music as the sun sets. Still the most magical concert I've even attended. :-)
