I have listened to this over and over, they were still awesome in 2012 after 50 years. Yes, we miss Carl and Dennis. So glad David Marks was there, he is a Beach Boy and awesome lead guitar. Love how Don't back down sounded. This sound will live on well past when we are all gone.

@@darrenallen7754 agree. Though I am a total Beatles fanatic, it must be said that the Beach Boys were BASED on harmony singing and thus, Brian had emulated groups like the Four Freshmen. The Beatles of course had excellent singing too, but they had different roots, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Motown etc. So Frey was right, you can‘t top the BB as far as harmony singing is concerned.

America greatest band. Wish they could play together before it is to late. My wife died in November 2018. She had brain cancer but before she died she called a radio station for free Beach Boy tickets. They called me two weeks after she died and I was struggling. I had won two tickets to see them in December in Charleston. Like lots of hard times the music, the harmonies and endless summer saved me again. Thank you!

I have been a BB fan since 1964 and it is 2024. When I played high school football, we listened to the BB’s while lifting weight. My head coach played bass on one the songs. My mom fell in love the the Bb’s because of. They are a part of me. Love then

When the Beach Boys went to finish their show with the surf medley, dozens of teenagers rushed the stage. I thought I was back in the 60s. It was incredible! The band let them all up on stage to sing with them. That is Americana!

the 50th anniversary show was as good a musical history lesson as you could have ever wanted, and as good as any act could provide. the Beachboys and support were in fine voice, fine instrument (w all the licks, rarely missing a trick) carl and dennis and the original Brian forever missed , but what a show all the performers put on. if you were there in person, you know how good it was...if you missed the live show, enjoy the 50th through YT....so loved all the songs and the ones rarely performed. and Ive never danced so much and sang along so much at a live show. god bless that June night just a few yrs. ago.

I've been a Beast Boys fan for 37 years. Their concerts have been my favorite memories while growing up. I finally found a concert that I play all the time. This show had the harmonies perfect, the mix perfect and of course the setlist was incredible.

Just think guys here it is October 28 ,2021...three months from now Beach Boys history celebrates the 60th Anniversary. Even if Brian can't make it. .I think this same crew on stage should do a taped concert ,at least, of other songs that don't get enough attention. There are many!!

There was something special going on in Southern California in 1963. The Surf Music era, surfing, American muscle cars, pretty girls in bikinis, hamburger stands, drive in movies, Summer weather, lemonade stands, malt shops, Diners etc. The Endless Summer Phenomenon was born and great 1960's bands formed with music unlike any other era in Rock N'Roll History. Teenagers, young people, fast stylish automobiles and boom fun fun fun in the Summertime.

In early 60's we were devout Beatles & Stones fans but the BeachBoys crossed all lines.Brings back the old fashioned strict totally square society we lived and rebelled against. Believe me, the prom queens were doin the bad boys reminding me of "Be true to your school". We had to wear dresses to school & believe this no f'n birth control.Abortions were illegal. The BeachBoys bring back the sweetness of those times.Good thing times changed.I 'll always chill reminisce to my surfer boys. Their songs are forever from a short special time in history. Always good vibrations.

Wow, they sound really good. What an amazing show! Brian should take a bow but seems a little dazed. But I know he's alright & it's so good to see him out in the world and on a stage where he belongs. What a musical explosion of hits they had back in the sixties. Lifetime fan here.

Lots of people thought The Beach Boys were a surf band. But I always considered them what we know call a doowop group. Their vocal harmonies were always so tight and with Brian then Carl doing the falsetto tenor parts they were as good as most doowop groups. Now Matt Jardine, Al's son, does the falsetto tenor parts and he's great. Bruce Johnson has been with them at least 50 years. After 57 years they are still performing and still great.

Actually, Jeff Foskett (the large guy standing to David Marks immediate right on stage) handled most of the lead and backup falsetto parts on their 2012 anniversary tour. I think he still tours part-time in Brian's backup band.

Gabriel Sepúlveda Corradini You can say the same about Carl, Dennis and Al. They were lucky enough to have Brian teach them harmony and how to sing at such a young age. It was Brian who had much love for music and had to be part of it. He pretty much formed the band. Without it Al would’ve been a dentist, And i dont know about the rest but they would be anything from musicians
