As a White Scars player, I am here for this content! I agree from a rules perspective that it would me awesome if Ebon Keshig were WS 5, but, from a lore perspective, WS 4 does make more sense because they're volunteers from the normal legion ranks looking for redemption or glory as Ebon Keshig. I do think their points are too much for WS 4, though (even with FNP) 5+, so they need a points reduction or a WS increase if they want them to be used on the table more!

Yep, I said much the same thing. For now, my 5 have become a decorative piece. Same with my bikes. I am all about Cyberhawks + plasma, and power armor infantry/termis benefitting from 8M.

Great work guys! With the Kharash rule that all Infantry have in the Sagyar Mazan, Pardo's Warlord wasn't worth any points for Slay the Warlord or Cast in Gold, so the game should have been a 3-3 draw. Looking forward to the next battle report :)

Pardo, at about the 43.40 mark you said you'd done intercept so can't do another reaction in the enemy shooting phase but that should be a different phase, as well as intercept not counting as one of your reactions for the phase (though I see you were talking about the same unit that intercept so if it had been in the same phase yes that couldn't shoot again).

Pardo - Ebon Keshig are amazing, WHEN used in the right context! I'm not sure they make a great warlord retinue/anti-enemy warlord unit. However, against normal terminators and anything lower, I usually absolutely destroy things. They do struggle against WS5 - however, they are just normal marines who are on kharash after all, not the elite fighters of the legion.

Love the battles from the book. Even though the lore is hilariously wrong. Can't wait to watch the whole BR. Beautiful White Scars! Considering their lore is that they are just disgraced random White Scars, I agree with GW that Ebon Keshigs are WS4 (this is actually a part the Beta Garmon book gets wrong when they describe them as bodyguards of Jaghatai... 🤣). What they need is to be 25pts cheaper. Or to get something new, in addition. Since Phoenix Terminators for EC are the same price and WS5. Bernard and I were just discussing this, actually, Pardo. Giving them back their combi bolters (they actually have Relentless as a rule) would help a little. The glaives aren't two-handed after all.

I’m always rooting for DC but I don’t think he can claim any points for the warlord kill because the entire WS army gains the kharash special rule. So essentially you can’t score any points for killing any unit that has that rule.

And this rule states that the opponent cannot get any points if he kills a model with this rule. That is, DC has only 3 points. In addition, one of the inductii units fought with justaerin, successfully discarded one cube with the Proof of Valor rule and survived until the end of the game. This gives +1 point to the White Scars. So in the end, 4 against 3)

As a White Scars main, may I suggest naming the Praetor "Subutai", in honor of the greatest of Genghis's generals? As far as I know, that name is not actually used by any of the named Khans in the Heresy. PS: It is hilarious to see you complaining about Ebon Keshigs, a frequent and eternal frustration of mine. This unit is ONLY for killing power armor marines. Sending them at enemy termis is asking for trouble. 😅
