Gao was my first uber , so he carried me since the start of the game. I think that he is top 10 uber rares ever if not top 5. Many people don't like him because he has only wave immune and 5% crit chance as his extra abilities. Imo because of his large range he doesn't need Status effects immunities. His biggest weaknesses are surges and toxic attacks, but this can be avoided by using decents meatshields. (sorry for my bad english :P)

He carried me through SoL too . I hate to say it but Gao is super weak in late game. Not only surge, poison, he is vulnerable to curse too, if he somehow got curse by loris or something ,it will disable his strong ability and make him unusable. Not only that he didn’t have slow,freeze ability so that Henry and Croakey can snipe him from far away , waste your money and do nothing. He is too costly for what his offer (Dasli is much more cost effective),also his sluggish cooldown make him impractical and annoying to use in late UL. Literally a level with a surge or curse base make him a joke. And with the latest addition of aku enemies, surge tend to be a trend now as every single peng can easily get a chunk of hp from him, even the snake if your RNG is bad. It’s okay that he is top 10, but I don’t think he is as broken as before P/s: Not only him but mitama have the same weakness (no surge curse poison immunities). It’s true that she have tons of KB but in reality every hit in late game can took half of her HP. Dasli also got nerf too as almost all behemoth is surge immune. I think PONOS tries their best too make fest exclusive less OP than before. I think Phonoa the Fatebreaker have potential to be the best uber in the future

Yeah that’s exactly the reason he was an S tier in my opinion regardless of his fall off late game the fact that he can carry you thru most of the game easier than let’s say meowskeeter I couldn’t place him any lower tho I might be a little biased since he’s my first uberfest unit lol
