Thumbs up for the effort. At moments you both were over yours VT. But, I have not heard anything about periodization.

This relates to a 3 zone formula. Is there a relation to the 7 zone formula?

Yes! There are LOTS of ways to organize the Training Intensity Distribution within a training plan by power zone. For this discussion specifically around Polarized training, three zones are used by researchers, so we cover the topic accordingly with three zones. :)

It's good to hear you are changing the approach from sweet spot to periodization. Because I was burn out trying to follow your sweet spot approach. But the main question is when you're a planning to start with it. Or people like me with merge to another platform...

Whooosh. It's all going right over your head. They're not changing the approach from sweet spot to periodization. Sweet spot is a training zone, particularly a power zone, and training in that zone can be incorporated into a periodization plan in various ways. Or, it is not incorporated at all into a plan in a purely polarized periodized plan. TR will still have periodized plans that include training in the sweet spot zone. No one has ever claimed, at least no one responsible and no one at TR, that one should do nothing but sweet spot training year round. Sweet spot training, training in the sweet spot zone, is usually part of an off-season base training phase of a periodized plan. When racing starts, sweet spot training usually isn't incorporated into a plan, though if you have long gaps between races, a coach might assign some training in the sweet spot zone.
