Felt sad about Dominic's suicide. Poor child, got abused by his father, but I think he had two motives to keep on living: 1. Pádraic's wholesome heart/attitude 2. Siobhán as a potential love When Dominic lost all of that, he found no reason to stay in this world

This movie was a poem. One of the saddest but also relieving ending I have watched.

The setting feels like a fairy tale world, but with real-world human turmoil and sadness.

@@Fan_Made_Videos infact I place it at par with dead poets society kind of movies. Also I was sure that this was based on a book but I am shocked that the writer Martin wrote it all own.

Also an allegory for the Irish civil war on how the same peoples fight over such pointless and senseless things. Amazing! Trulyn

Gorgeous film. The acting world class. Deeper, more poetic than the other contenders. But I find reason for it to win award in every category.

The way Dominic told Siobhan he was going to kill himself was such a sad tragic outcome for such a go lucky fellow who just wanted out of his abusive home and a woman to love. Even the way movie connects the first time we see Dominic with the stick with the hook as he wondered what it was used for ending up being used to retrieve his body out of the water is so dark and sad. I went into this movie not expecting to be wowed and blown away the way I was both by the story and acting as I had a shallow mindset thinking there’s no way a movie about a guy not wanting to be another guys friend could possibly be an amazing character study like this film ended up being but knowing how good the writer director of the film was I watched it. This film is a perfect example of how good writing can truly make an incredible piece of art in cinema.

Excellent analysis and perception Shaun. I'll have to revisit this movie. I watched it over Christmas (there may have been wine involved). I've obviously missed a lot.

The way he says "Come back home, Siobhan" breaks my heart. He went from being a happy lad to a sad and vengeful person.

Incredible movie. Everyone involved was at the top of their game. I wish it had won Best Picture at the Oscars. I really liked "Everything Everywhere All at Once," but people will be watching "Banshees" for decades into the future

Wonder film. Another triumph for the incredibly talented and unique story teller Martin McDonagh. The acting is wonderful but Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan are stand outs. Barry in particular because in comparison to Colon, he has less screen time and yet….. Loved it

He didn’t want her feeling sorry for him, as much as he wanted her to come back, he was glad she was happy. In the same way he was immeasurably hurt by Colm he still couldn’t help himself being happy for him he finished his song. He truly is a nice man.

He did actually tell her, in the scence: even as I'm writing this letter, little Jenny is looking at me saying: please don't go Padraic. We'd miss Ya.
