2:22 this is the saddest shot of the film for me, the way that the kerosene splashes onto the camera. mcdonaugh really wanted to capture the despair padraic was feeling at this time by submerging the audience into tears this character could not weep. it feels almost as if mcdonagh, himself was weeping as he was writing this story.
