I could feel Padraic's reaction to my bone. The sigh, the light taps on the lifeless body, and the stutter in his voice. Heartbreaking. Amazing performance by Colin Farrell

This was the moment that sold me that Colin Farrell was the best leading male performance of 2022. It's one thing to sell emotion with a frenzied monologue or a physical transformation but it's something else entirely to convey such conflicting feelings entirely with the eyes.

Colin Farrell has worked his way into my top 5 favorite actors of all time in recent years. Not everything he does is a home run but he’s always usually the most interesting thing about it. He’s been in some real bizarre roles but the man loves to act. I respect the hell out of that

This scene was so sad when I watched only for me to experience the same thing a couple days later when I found my cat halfway in a hole with a mangled body guessing my brothers dogs got to him while he was thinking the hole was a good place to hide. Or he fell in by accident. Idk whatever happened I feel complete hatred towards my brothers dogs now.

Yeah, this is where the movie lost me. It was starting to get less and less funny, and after ages of waiting for the movie to get to the point, his poor donkey died for no reason. Everything after that felt pretty unfocused and after it was over, I realized that I really hadn’t enjoyed the past two hours of my life. Civil war allegories are all well and good, but not if you forget to make an interesting movie in the process.

The pony dying was not for no reason, it was to show that ending lifelong relationships is a selfish and hurtful thing to do. He cut off his fingers to make a point and ended up killing his donkey by accident from it. If you didn’t like the movie then fine, but it wasn’t for no reason.

Nope it isn't funny whatsoever, it seems Martins films have been getting more and more depressing than his debut, I loved In Bruges it balanced the comedy and tragedy well, whilst this was just tragic with little comedy, tbh I understand why it got nominations but I won't rewatch the whole film again whilst In Bruges I happily would
