that’s how it is in real life usually. most of the time shots are fired but very little of the shots will make it. this is usually because people severely overestimate their gun and don’t know how to use it. lapd and the veteran guy on the other hand i’m kind of confused since they have decent training.

You’d be surprised how often that happens In a cop I had a homicide a few months ago where the suspects shot 58 times, 8 of those rounds hit the guy and they were 15 feet from him standing still.

Why don't movies every show where everyone is? Heat did it, it showed really well the distances involved and positions of everyone involved in that massive firefight, so the viewer could appreciate the stakes involved. 13 Hours did that too. Here it's constant camera movement, it's impossible to see who's shooting where and appreciate the balance of forces, we're constantly shown the person shooting and not who they're shooting at. How is this the same guy who shot 13 Hours? The camerawork in that movie was incredible, streets ahead of whatever this is. There's like 3 guys shooting at the other 3 guys, but the way we're shown is so chaotic it's impossible to appreciate it.

Something I always thought about these kind of movies is.... why not position 2 or 3 of your people on rooftops or down the road in cars so they could protect the back sandwiching the police in between. Very odd to me

Because separating your guys would be a disaster as seen in this scene, you are suposed to quickly escape before any police can show up

Funny thing they filmed this right next to the downtown main police station in Los Angeles . There used to be a bank of America where this bank in the movie was filmed but that was like 10 years ago it was still there

If only Payday 2 was this easy

Watching Michael Bay movies can be so frustrating. His pyrotechnics, squib FX, and the way he uses his camera sometimes are top notch. The drone stuff in this movie was really neat. But ultimately, as usual, he’s terrible at telling the story here. It’s just a mish-mash of action shots, and there’s no real sense of geography and where exactly everyone is. There’s so much “filler” in this sequence and it just feels like half of it could have been cut. Compare it to the bank heist and shootout in Heat. We constantly know where everyone is. Where the robbers are in relation to the cops, and it’s just that much more tense and entertaining because of those aspects.

after Mann's Heat, what even is the point of making something like this?

This movie made me so nauseous. Michael Bay bought a drone and decided to make every other shot a swooping wide angle pan across. Also I don’t know why buy it looks like he shot on low grade cameras because the whole movie looks so cheap and un-cinematic.

i wish they would rerelease this in IMAX. I didn't watch in IMAX the first time😭. Didn't know about IMAX the first time
