The Banggood 250-201 Lathe Tool Holder Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I have a quick look at the Banggood 250-201 lathe tool holder. It looks good and works well. Here is a link to the site should you decide to grab one or two.

Here in the US Industrial supply sells (on Ebay if desired) the same holder for about $4.00 cheaper although they do charge postage. I did not see much for selection on Banggood either, no parting tool holders or boring bar holders came up in my search. Nice to see a variety of reviews though to find which of the cheaper versions are worth while. This would appear to be the equivalent of the XL BCA which is good so that it will hold 16mm or 5/8 tool. With one pass on the mill my Industrial Supply ones will also take the 20mm. You need to be careful as a lot of stainless screws are the softer grade and will strip or gall quite easily. If it doesn't specify you can be pretty sure it is the softer version (304 etc as opposed to the 316 and 400 grades). Take care. Doug

G Day Doug, I have machined them bigger as well but I always only buy 316 stainless bolts and screws, they are holding up well so far.

Hello Bundy! Could you please measure the length from the machined surface (not from dovetail) to the face surface? I see it is somehow double of dimension "C" but that"s just estimate, and I would need a more exact dimension. I'm chasing to find out what is the overall distance from the center point of the tool post, to see where the turning tool would be with this size of tool holder and tool post.

You hit the high points of issues, the bolts used. I would think the other main things is to make sure the slot for the tool holder is perpendicular to the dove tails. From looking at the photos on the site, it looks like they also recess the area between the dovetails.

Yes they do, I couldn't fault it apart from the screws and that is just my preference.

You did a good job on the review. But I had more fun making my own.

G Day Harrold, Yes I wouldn't mind making some but I seem time poor, I think I will have to retire and get a bit more shed time.

" Material: Metal " - only on banggood. Seriously though, assuming it's steel, that was the only real problem with my import QCTP (made of aluminum). Had it been steel like these, I'd have no complaints even for a bit more money.
