The Balkans in Flames - Civil Wars | Full Historical Documentary

Ойын-сауық

We are in the fateful year of Yugoslavia’s first free elections since World War II: 1990. It is the hour of the nationalists, and the collapse of the multi-ethnic state is only a matter of time. When Slovenia and Croatia declare independence, Yugoslavia sinks into civil war. There are mass expulsions, systematic rapes and brutal murders in Croatia and Bosnia. For a long time, the international community merely looks on idly.

    You need to change the title, or I'm going to report you Civil Wars happen Within one single nation, ethnos. Nation in proper european sense, as Ethnos. Not in american sense as all people who live in a state. America, for example, is not a nation. It's a collection of races and ethnicities. There IS no "civil war" when 2 distinct nations are fighting oneanother. There is no "civil war" when you have Invasions from neighboring countries. What these wars were about - was Clearly stated in Hague Court, and that's why you are getting reported. Stop spreading misinformation.

    for us Croats is better independence, because Commonwealth of Independent States, the Habsburg Monarchy, Austria-Hungary, Yugoslavia,we've had enough of that, we wanted to have our own country again after the principality and kingdom of Croatia from the 9th to the 12th century, so it's best for us to have our own country, and to cooperate economically with various countries and neighbors, and eventually be like this not in joint countries, but to the unions of states, such as the EU, NATO, so we were also strong in Austria-Hungary, but what does that mean for us when it is a joint state of many peoples, you are not alone in your own way, now we are independent and we are also strong in unions and alliances

    If the Germans declared Slovenes in Central Europe to be "German people" it does not mean that they are of "German blood". DNA genealogy establishes that the proto-Germans migrated from the Far East to the west and reached Europe with the inclusion of members of other peoples. Developments in Europe after this time point to the possibility that the proto-Germans may have been part of the "peoples from beyond the sea" about 3.2 millennia ago and also part of the remnants of the defeated army of the "peoples from beyond the sea" who retreated across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe . In Western Europe, the proto-Germans subjugated part of the northern proto-Celts and took on some of their characteristics. Later, in contact with the Romanized Celts, the place developed the current Germanic characteristics...

    This woman on 7:18 is probably crazy. Croatian checkerboard was publicly presented in Yugoslavia many times after World War II. And with the first white field, this checkerboard is also present in Belgrade on Republic Day, etc. Swastika in Germany? The Croatian anti-fascist partisans also have that checkerboard on the flag.

  • @Lazar-ox5bd

    @Lazar-ox5bd

    8 күн бұрын

    Serbs saw the checkerboard as a possible repeat of the Ustaše coming back, mainly since it was very similar to the NDH flag, they did NOT want it to repeat, you also gotta remember that the new constitution introduced by Croatia before it's independence also made Serbs into a national minority, not a second constituate people group, this mainly irked Serb cops in Knin who would have to don the checkered board patches on their uniforms, which they saw as an ustaše symbol.

I do not tell one I know the other as the wounds have not healed. My Grandfather fought the Japanese in gauda canal. Neither side took POWs. War changes people forever and hatred lasts a lifetime. We are on the brink of WWIII as we speak. All I can do is teach my children how to survive and to put family first. I'm 53 and know I should sacrifice myself for my children and granddaughter and future grandchildren. The new generation in western countries are not cut out for war and that is our greatest weakness. I was raised in a military family and need to kick my spoiled kids asses.

    Regarding the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, it is important that we do not decontextualize crimes and events. There is no equivalency between individual instances of war crimes and systematic crimes against humanity. The "all sides did it" discourse is revisionism. There's a huge difference between crimes committed by individuals and crimes that are systemically planned. Bosnian Serb and Bosnian Croat separatist forces committed systemically planned war crimes, this is an undeniable FACT. The Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina committed war crimes at times but did not commit any systemically planned crimes. For decades now, there has been a trend and tendancy to lump everything together, which is exactly what war criminals and their supporters have been doing for years, even decades, trying to relativize everything until it loses its true context, hence meaning and known butchers suddenly become innocent heroes.

And Bosnian muslims first attacked Croats and they had peace in most areas with Serbs. Croats fought on two fronts with serbs incroatia nd with serbs and bosnian muslims in Bosnia nd Herzegovina. And when croats organized themself like Croatian army in Croatia, muslims wanted peace because after Maslenica they realized that croatian Guards units could reach central Bosnia in matter of weeks if they wanted. Croatian Guards brigades were best units of war and they spearheaded every main attack or led every defense

    Yugoslavia existed for the better part of the 20th century, from the 1910s to the early 1990s in notable stability, barring minor incidents that the West blows out of proportion to substantiate its premise of Balkanization - a neologism (that has fairly little substantiation in history and ethnography) they've invented for the mere purpose of justifying a number of aggressive and detrimental attempts of subverting the resurging Balkanite states of Serbia, Greece, and Bulgaria, as a retaliation for the three's role in the defeat of the Ottoman Empire (the West's long-lasting ally), and the liberation of the whole peninsula of the aforementioned's rule. Serbia has especially earned the enmity of the Western powers as a result of her endeavors in WW1 which have shattered the Old World order and initiated a subsequent, yet steep withering of the traditional global, colonial powers of the world, and Yugoslavia has established its foreign policy on emancipating the Third World under its leadership and preventing the Western powers from re-establishing themselves as the governing body of its former colonies in Africa, Asia, and the Near East, thus effectively cutting them off from their vital wells of natural resources, thus relegating the West ever-further to the status of mere vassals of the USA. In both cases of Yugoslavia's destruction, meaning in 1941, and 1992, it was destroyed by the hostile foreign policies of great powers, so this "plunged into chaos after Tito's death" premise is not true, and is shameful dehumanizing propaganda.

The number of Serbs detreated during the WW2 under the Fascist regime with Genocide, mass murder in concentration camps, even the children camps and also under communists after the WW2. It really surprises me how you Serbs still pretend to be as naive as French maids! First, Serbia with Slobodan Milošević invaded the Payment System of Yugoslavia and seriously damaged it. Second, Milošević influenced future wars already in 1989, beware of plural wars! Along the way, the Orthodox Church carried the bones of Emperor Lazar along the imaginary borders of Great Serbia... Thirdly, Milošević told the Slovenes to leave Yugoslavia, leave as quickly as possible, so that Milošević's goal was not to preserve Yugoslavia but to create Greater Serbia. Because Yugoslavia without Slovenia is not Yugoslavia... Fourth, Montenegro participated together with Serbia in all wars. So that Montenegro and Macedonia were not targeted by the Serbs because they are ALL ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS and Montenegro was in union with Serbia. There you go my naive liar...

    You forget most important things involved USA 🇺🇸 …To understand small things in the world 🌎 you need to start looking big from top to down Jugoslavija was one country but it was communist and in the nineties NATO west “democracy”win Cold War and destroyed communist country like Soviet Union (Russia) and Jugoslavija from inside and split them in small pieces and after step by step put them in NATO under full control…in Jugoslavija they support leaders who was against Jugoslavija and called them self democratic (national fanatics )… Tito was holding in prison Tudjman, Izetbegovic and other nationalist who was trying to destroy Yugoslavia many of them run away and sabotage Yugoslavia from outside like attacking Yugoslavia embassy staff example: check attack on Rolovic in Sweden…same guy who killed Rolovic after come on Tudjman side and fight against JNA army who tried to keep Yugoslavia strong and in one piece…Constitution of Jugoslavija was made to stay strong and together example: if Bosnia want to be independent and go from Yugoslavia must all 3 nation (muslim1,9 milion, orthodox 1,36 milion and Catholic 0,76 milion) who living in Bosnia to say yes on that but orthodox want to stay in Yugoslavia and rules is than no independent but Muslim continue with support from USA embassy… It is easy to see on example when Izetbegovic agree to stop the war and after meeting with USA ambassador Zimmermann day after he take decision back and continue war.. in Bosnia it was war also between Croatio and Muslims and also war between two group of Muslims…also you forget to say that Naser Oric from UN save zone where supposed to be no weapon they attack on Serbian village and do massacre…they need food in that time I understand but they attack and kill all in village also Izetbegovic know what will happened in Srebrenica and he take only commander Naser Oric out with helicopter 🚁 he had offer from Europe to move population from Srebrenica on save place but he didn’t want he had plan to provocate Serbs until they revenge and after USA come and fix how they agree with Izetbegovic long time ago..when Serbian army surrounded Srebrenica Muslims army and most man with weapon inside try to fight and come to Tuzla they didn’t want to surrender many of them they didn’t success to come to Tuzla many died in fight and one part success…on the end they put number of 8000 people that was all executed but it is not true that is all together in fight plus executed and plus some was in that number and they was alive out of country come later to vote… You have also old video before war how west news 📰 talking about Kosovo will be problem for Yugoslavia during Tito time all that is proof that Milosevic is not monster how they present him in west he just was stupid guy who play bad chess ♟ against stronger player USA… Albanian terorist UCK who attack on police and Serbs and try to take Kosovo from Serbia they get full support from USA in weapon, trening army in Albania and send to Kosovo,Air support bombing Serbian positions, media propaganda… after Albanian take Kosovo and Milosevic get removed from power, Albanian try to do same things in Macedonia 🇲🇰 they start war but NATO say No, No support in that… And you know why ?How to explained in to the world that Milosevic is removed and still Albanian attacking on another country world will understand they are not victims

The one that hated it is the one who started it to break it up and create new nations....I will give you a clue Serbs loved Jugoslavia as they were widely spread throughout and were the most damaged in its disintegration. lot of mistakes: there were too few serbs in bosnia to be able to commit so many atrocities on their own, they were supplied and helped by serbia all the time, as were the croatians by croatia, but it is the west's fault that they allowed the aggressors (genocide serbs) to occupy half of the country

    Who said that? Also you cant compare invasion of sovereign country to the civil war. Sides and intentions are far more recognizable in Ukraine then they were in fall of Yugoslavia and negotiations or fighting is much more straight forward. As far as numbers of casualties go, war in Ukraine will also more then likely exceed those in Yugoslavia if it didnt already
