I remember when this happened everyone was hating on Arie so bad. Looking back now, Arie was one of the nicest bachelors, and an absolute catch. He wasn’t trying to be a player he was just conflicted. You could tell by the way he said goodbye to Lauren he looked so heartbroken and still loved her. I’m glad it all worked out in the end, he and Lauren are a great little family now and going strong 5 years, and even Becca seems to be really happy with a hubby and kid of her own. Happy for them both

He fell in love with both women. I think his heart with more with Lauren, but his mind said Becca. Plus his entire family said Becca. I think if his family stood out of it he would have chosen Lauren initially. He's friends with Sean Lowe who himself told the runner-up that he loved her too. Arie probably felt his love for Lauren would fade, but it didn't. I don't think having their breakup filmed was necessarily wrong considering they signed up for this. I think he didn't handle it well. He should have been more apologetic. He never even said sorry.

Exactly! Everyone’s like “he followed his heart” and I totally get that. He obviously loves Lauren & I think they have something that is different then what him and Becca have for sure. But in interviews the women have said Arie knew what was going down that weekend, cameras and all, and still texted Becca like “I love you and can’t wait for our weekend together” knowing he was going to break her heart in front of millions of people. Sooooo slimey.

It's not really Arie's fault though. The series made him do it. They all signed up for this show and knew anything could happen. The show needs drama. It's all for the ratings. I remember Jason Mesnick said in an interview once that he asked if he could break up with his choice Melissa without the cameras and they said no, it has to be filmed. So then he broke up with her anyways without the cameras but then they both had to come to the studios and act like it was all happening there infront of the cameras.

I’d so flipp out if a boyfriend or worse fiancé asked to text an ex! Or rather that would be bye bye!

soooo I think none of that matters when your boyfriend was dating you at the same time he was dating 25 other women, and ultimately said he was in love with 2 (or more) women at the same time. it's not a normal courtship, so you can't hold these people to the same standards of a boring traditional relationship that 99.9% of us go through. like I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be okay with "your boyfriend" making out with multiple girls in the same day. but these ladies signed up for it and were not ignorant as to what actually happens on the show.

Halle Davis Even though she gave permission to him, if Arie is engaged to Becca, as a fiancé, she deserves an open line of communication from him especially in a situation like this. Arie should’ve been open and honest expressing that conversation he had with her. But he was disrespectful of Becca and her personal feelings. I’m sure that Becca and Arie communicated fairly often when they were engaged so why would he wait a week to tell her that he and Lauren had a conversation related to “closure” as you said. Obviously we all know it wasn’t for closure, it was to reopen the door to get back together with her. Regardless, waiting a week to tell Becca even with permission or doing it behind her back without permission are not plausible and are sketchy decisions to me. That whole situation is still bad on his part because for several weeks Arie kept it a secret from Becca that he was getting back with Lauren and blindsided her with that break up when she thought they were meeting up to hang out. He told most people about the breakup before he even told Becca and I find not communicating his concerns to be disrespectful. He said he still had feelings but he didn’t express to what extent, and when Arie continues to express to Becca how much he loves her and continues to house shop with her? That’s ridiculous.

Re-watched After the Final Rose, Becca states that she realized Arie was having challenges, suggested he connect with Lauren, but he didn’t have Lauren’s number. Jan 1 was the first time Arie and Lauren chatted. They did not communicate prior to Dec 31. Please get your facts straight before making careless accusations

From the producers about the timeline: The proposal happened right before Thanksgiving and then the breakup happened in January, so it was almost two months in between, and that’s when Arie asked Lauren for a second chance, just so they can date. And that was two months ago, and things are going incredibly well. Do your research before making stupid comments

I truly wish Arie would stop say "he was struggling" when he blatantly cheated on Becca while they were engaged

How would it have been in his own hands if he signed a contractual obligation prior to filming that everything must be filmed? He could have told her off camera that he didn't want to be with her sure, but the producers would've still told him that they would have to film the moment all over again and to act as if it was the 1st time telling her, being that he did sign paperwork BEFORE.

Veola I haven't really cared for him since he took Krystal to meet his parents on the first date. So I have actually been happy when he sent some of my favorites home. Like Jaclyn, Kendall and Sienne. :-)

I'm not here to judge their relationship and put either of them on blast, but I genuinely do not understand how they both can sit there and laugh about the fact that Arie gave out two proposals. It sickens me to watch him just laugh it off. Becca made a great point last night when she told him that he took her first proposal away from her and she will never be able to get that back. She is obviously and very rightfully devastated by it, but he and Lauren laugh about it like it's a joke? I don't know how Lauren can just laugh about it either because I know my boyfriend and I don't love talking about each other's ex relationships, let alone one that was an engagement just a month or two ago... It's all just very weird, emotionless and upsetting to me.

But man...I was pissed that he did that to Becca. Did you really have to bring in the cameras for that? And I didn't want her to breakdown and cry in front of him...but she has no choice they just kept cornering her. I was hoping she would punch him in the face or something. And ABC is petty for the long close ups while she was trying to cover her face. That whole ordeal was messed up. I hope they have ugly kids.

i know you wrote this a year ago but the crazy thing to me is how recent this all actually is and yet they're married and have a baby, like you said (and now they have 2 more babies on the way)! no judgement from me, I get that arie is getting up there in age compared to Lauren, and they seem truly in love, so I'm nothing but happy for them, but it simply blows my mind because I've been with my bf for almost 6 years and we're not even CLOSE to getting married or having children. Totally different situations, since my bf and I just graduated university, but still! It's just shocking how quickly this all went; a true whirlwind. I hope they never break up tho because I love them from what I can see publicly, don't care what other people say. :)
