I would say the AUG is better for medium to long ranges, the 11% more dmg helping out alot here (oneshooting unarmord players I guess?) Could be a nice gun if you want to be light and only carry one single gun+ammo, with the M4 you might feel the need to take a sniperrifle as well.

I fucking hate the fact that they increased the M4's firerate THAT much. It makes the FAMAS literally pointless. If they were going to add the FAMAS and make the M4 do what it does better, then why even add a new gun if an old one is just gotta take over that role anyway?

Well famas is shorter basically m4 that fits in the pants. Guess good secondary for snipers.

It was a nice suprise seeing the AUG A1 and A3 added can't wait to find one in game!

Interesting fact, the AUG’s iconic raised sight goes for about 500 U.S. dollars by itself. Some are a bit cheaper I’ve seen however.

Also important to notice, is the Aug AX is the velocity. 850 m/s initial speed is pretty high for a gun, I've been having a lot of success sniping with it. 2 shots against a plate at very high ranges with little recoil.

old aug Integrated scope was sick and it used to be my favorite 5.56 weapon

I mean, your damage comparison based on rate of fire only really is valid when we're talking about short-range fights. I'd argue that the AUG is superior in mid and especially long range engagements since the additional 11% damage per hit really matters when tap- or single-firing for higher accuracy. A high rate of fire specifically is what you *don't* want in these scenarios.

The AUG magazine and the AR (STANAG) magazine are not the same. That said you can get some AUG versions that do take STANAG magazines, but then they wont accept the AUG specfic magazine. If it was being realistic then the AR not accepting the AUG magazine is correct. The way the AUG accepts both is poetic licence.

Marks did a video earlier for 1.15 experimental, although not as thought out as yours for weapon detail. Thanks for going into the weapon details. Look forward to your closer analysis of 1.15.

Honestly would be horrible at dayz if it wasn't for wobo and the many thanks guys! lol.

can't find the exact list but a bunch of weapons got tweaked. Recoil, sway and rate of fire for others. Like the skorpion for example

You can see the reason why you can't use the iron sight right when he mentions it - the optics that is used obscures the iron sight even tho it might not be the case with all of the optics.

I wouldn't mind the fixed optic but only if it's like a 3x-4x scope and not some sight or 6x-8x scope so it's as versatile as possible. I'm assuming the AUR A1 model you showed at the end was the AUG A1 and was more properly based off of the standalone version while the AUR AX is a more modernized version designed to fit more modern DayZ weapon standards.

AUG is short for "Armee-Universal-Gewehr", which means universal army rifle. It is an Austrian weapon.

Two things. One, why do they keep pointing canted iron sights on rail weapons and completely not understanding their purpose? Second, why the fuck are they increasing the M4s fire rate? I swear they're doing everything possible to keep the M4 the go to gun like most games and it's really starting to annoy me.

Note-the og steyr aug mags were never meant to work for the AR platform, matter of fact: the aug was only meant to take steyr mags originally but since that feature was a bit of a downside later design allowed it to take standard ar15 mags

You need to swap the stock irl to use AR15 pattern mags, but then you can no longer use AUG mags

For some reason I can't put a suppressor on the AUR AX. Not sure if its just on my server or if it just cant take one

So the reason why the AUG magazine doesn't fit the M4 platform, is not because of caliber, but magazine size. The AUG is a very robust structured bullpup and that magazine was designed specifically for the AUG platform. Keep in mind that like the M4 the AUG also went through design changes, and with that came common compatibility with standardized NATO weapon systems, like interchangable magazines, the weaver or in this case picatinny rail and so on. So that mag is just simply old and too big to fit an AR-15

Wobo, the deal with the magazines is actually an IRL thing. AUGs had their own mags that weren't an AR15 pattern. Only certain AUG variants use AR15 pattern mags.

Since our Server has all of the high Tier gun spawns inside T4 statically gas zones, the aug is a Great weapon for those who doesnt have (the Time, or Motivation) the gear to get there

The aug is my new favorite weapon no doubt after the m4 rpm buff it has much more recoil and the aug feels like the old m4

the recoil is crazy hard to control on the aug

Also Aug mags are different from the AR mags but the newer generations of the Aug can accept AR mags

Technically the AUG should be either set up to take STANAG magazines, or AUG magazines, the reason the AUG mags aren't supposed to work in the M4A1 is they're the wrong design to fit, but you can buy a version of the AUG A3 that accepts STANAG mags if you already have AR-15 style rifles or other STANAG magazines in large quantities and don't want to have compatability issues.

@WOBO what's currently the best chest Armor in vanilla if I don't want the plate carrier.

Realistically speaking the AUG A3 has more fire power than a standard M4A1, m4 has a 14.5 inch barrel. Aug has a 16 inch. Longer barrel means more power, especially from a 556

Also even tho the barrel is longer the way the bullpup configuration works, the AUGs overall length is horter because the barrel rests in the body of the gun

Irl the VAL has around 900rpm while the VSS has a lower 600rpm

The reason the m4 and aug mags go in is cause they make versions of the aug that fit nato, aka m4 mags. The AUG mag is a proprietary mag for that gun, so the aug mag wouldn't fit in an m4

Dayz Experimental got a 5 gig update on Xbox but the the base game didn't, dose anyone know if the update is on consoles base game or when it will be?

Running around with an AUG makes you a KOS target

I think the M4 is a little to good now.

The M4 only has more damage if you are close enough to hit all you're shots on full auto. AUG is going to be better at almost every range than the M4, as it should be with an M16 length barrel.

Very true, damage of your shots only count for the ones you hit, so accuracy and recoil control are all factors that play into whether it's a good weapon. Close range M4 is a beast, but for midrange combat the M16 and AUG are fantastic.

The only thing I hate about this next patch is the rate of fire for the M4 going up time to get sprayed down even more:(

It's realistic at 900 RPM, it used to be 600 RPM. M4 wasn't the only one that got it's rate of fire increased/fixed.

I was just basing my opinion on that. famas cant be 1100 due to the way this game has been made, and m4 can't be 700 due to how the game is made either. guns can't have firerates between 600-900 and between 900-1800, so yeah... kinda badly made shooting mechanics

AUGs that can take AR15 type mags can't take the propietary AUG mags and vice-versa. Also the firemodes make no sense since the AUGs firemodes don't work like that. Oh and the canted iron sights are set up for a lefhander for some reason

ask them for bows and arrow WOBO, maybe if you ask they bring it back.
