When I was about 14, my Dad took me to see Return to Forever. We have a distraught relationship due to his alcoholism, but your guys’ music brings a tear to my eye remembering one of the few good times we had together. I can’t overstate how big of a deal it is that fusion is still alive and well. Thank you Polyphia and Tim for helping us see some light in the darkness.

The rule is that we develop our style and then try to perfect it. Yes! Tim is a virtuoso's virtuoso, but what really makes him even greater is that he found his own original sound.

if you're an old hippie did you ever hear of Tommy Emmanuel, that is real skilled guitarist he can play anything and everything, even stringed instruments he's never played before, that is genius. Classical Gas [Mason Williams] | Tommy Emmanuel. and this is on an acoustic guitar he's mostly given up electric, probably fed up after a lifetime of studio work.

Reminds me of a throwback to 8bit Nintendo music, in the best way possible. Tim can play melodies on guitar that used to only be possible by a midi player reading notes arranged by a crazy Japanese composer. It reminds me when Tim said something like he doesn't even love guitar as much as he loves creating music and the guitar is his best vehicle for it

I went back to see his older videos and I found one with him as a kid. It’s insane to see how much he’s grown both musically and style-wise lol. Those tattoos and fashion really added to his musical skill and make him really unique and cool

I know plenty of artists who got some tats because they paint amazing things and they wanted to wear some of their art say, and i know artists who wear jeans and t shirts. His playing is amazing and i cant play like that, but at the same time i dont know if i would want to. If i quit my job with the goal of becoming an amazing player and spent every waking moment practicing to replicate that style... personally no thanks. No real groove, nothing that tugs at your insides and makes you purse your lips and involuntarily go 'oh yeah!' and bob your head. It sounds like microchips. Only my opinion of course. Im still glad he's successful. And im only mid 30s. not wishing for elvis to come back.

When listening to Anomalie's beat before the guitar was added, it's almost impossible to imagine more being added to it, yet you did it again here masterfully. No one else could have done it justice like this. Both versions are incredible on their own, but together... wow. my favorite riffs you write are the ones that mesh perfectly with the vocals; like ABC, Positions, or this (the keys feel like vocals to me) . This is my favorite song for sure. Shit SLAPS so hard.

The only song I've actually looked up to see if it was legit. I'm nearly certain other parts were quantized on the track, but being able to play something live with zero cuts like this is still next level incredible.
Tim, Your music has helped me in so many ways. You have no idea. I discovered Polyphia in 2016 when you released Nightmare - since then you have been my favorite band and YOU my favorite guitarist. I still remember the first time I heard Blood Moon - this takes me back to that time. I might not become a guitarist in a band - or a bassist for that matter. But what you do, and your sound inspire me to do greater things. Thank you for being my inspiration.

One thing i absolutely love about this playthrough is it pulls your guitar out of the mix so it seems to isolate every part a little more and it exposes just how well you guys craft your tones for the bigger picture. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe what we just watched and heard. I'm still going to say the most impressive (bewildering) part to me is how relaxed Tim is. It's almost as if isn't even paying attention to what he is playing like he is thinking of something else entirely yet not a missed note or a single flaw . This just shows that Tim is truly a next level, incarnation if you will, of guitar virtuoso's. I'm going to listen again now, thanks for the upload Tim.

That is called being in "the zone" or, more scientifically, a "flow state." He is, in fact not really paying attention to nor thinking about what he's playing at all. He has excelled to a point where he only needs to rely on muscle memory. This is the mark of mastery. I first noticed it was a thing when I realized I was completely zoned out, my eyes not even in focus while playing DDR and Guitar Hero, I was hardly even looking at the notes yet I was hitting them all. Best of all it is a form of meditation/mindfulness practice, and it feels incredible. But yeah, Tim has truly mastered the art, and every song he writes. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!

He said in an interview that he can't think about what he's playing, because if he thinks then he'll mess up. This describes a true refinement of his craft along with an ability to enter and maintain a flow state

How many times do you think he's played it / how many hours has he spent relentlessly drilling every single note? Regardless of how much talent the individual has, it takes an insanely massive amount of work and practise, sustained over many many years, to achieve this "magic". :)

You may imitate Tim's guitar playing, but composing these things is another world, creating this badass riffs and everything, Tim is one of a kind.
