The Atrocious Gacha Review | Limbus Company

Ойындар

This is the true game for masochists. Project Moon's Limbus Company has got to be one of the most creative and intriguing gacha games I've played. Being pioneers of indie game development, Limbus is both stylistic and addictive in its nature to hook you with with the gameplay. While the initial barrier of entry is quite high, getting past it will lead you to a pleasant experience with the story and characters. This is the second volume of the Atrocious Gacha Review. Let me know which game you would like to see next!

Hello! I've been going through your comments for the past day, and I've decided I'll likely silently keep my account going while chipping away at the main story. I know a lot of you Limbussers really emphasize it, so I'll likely find some time to finish Library of Ruina then try to do Canto 5/6. I probably won't be doing much Mirror Dungeon, but it's good to know that if you reach the later stages, there is a hard mode for it that grants more rewards. One month is not enough for most gacha games to know the total ins and outs, so I definitely admit there were some details I've missed. Don't let my dislike for grind stop you from enjoying the game. If you were wondering how I progressed so fast, I had a member of the dotGG site for Limbus give me some tips. You can check out their articles at limbus.gg/ Since I didn't see a lot of comments suggesting the next game, I've already picked it: Path to Nowhere will be the next atrocious gacha review.

Limbus Company is an interesting gacha game because the studio outright said they're using it to generate revenue so they can make more games. Which makes the decision to make it not whale friendly even more unique as they totally could've just tried to make bank but they value their players so much (too much even) that it's become such a low spender friendly game.

How I like to describe Limbus Company is “let’s see how many horrible game mechanics we can add, and then make them fair” Gatcha system? Let’s add a proper pity system to allow everyone to get everything no matter failure. Battle pass? Add all pass content into the general pool and make it pityable next season for those who missed it, mitigating content loss alongsides adding very generous rewards. Literal coin flip luck? Add a sanity system which allows for luck to be as close to eliminated as possible while also supporting strategy.

Here is some insight from a launch player This game is absolutely targeted for low spenders. It almost a subscription based service for how much the battle pass gives you. The ability to shard anything in the gacha is ridiculous and is ridiculously easy. I have played since launch and only pay for the battle pass and I have almost every ego and ID with most of them maxed out. It can be brutal for FTPs to max out their accounts, if they really care about that since the story content is quite easily clearable(especially for LOR players). There is a sizable chunk of players that only come back to the game when story content is released and winrate through all the content and leave. So lunacy ends up not being that useful on many accounts, including mine which is absolutely insane for a gacha game. How many Limbus players do dailies including myself is that we pay to get 1-2 energy refills via lunacy and convert them into modules. We skip thread luxcavation twice, then speedrun 1 thread luxcavation, usually testing out new combos and comps(at least I do). Then do 1 exp luxcavation. Skipping is actually beneficial here even with the only 1.5x multiplier of rewards since we get threads faster so it increases the rate of our account progression and it makes better use of the daily bonus. It takes about ~5 mins to do dailies which is very low for a gacha game. Weeklies for end game players is basically 1 hard mirror dungeon which takes around ~1 hour. The shards that I get from this basically allows me to shard everything in the season. Grinding mirror dungeons is completely optional and you don't really have modules for it anyway so im not sure what you mean by grindy. I am quite busy person in real life and I feel that this game mostly respects my time, they don't randomly add dailies and weeklies to bloat my daily playtime and they improve the mirror dungeons so much to the point its almost a different game each season to make it more fun. Dailies are so streamlined too(same goes with upgrading, etc), compared to other gachas where you have to click a million buttons to finish dailies and have a million upgrade mats and different ways to upgrade your character. Also, one funny observation I noticed is that you spent 1 month playing the game but only finished canto 3.5. Many players finished Canto 3(including me) on launch day and probably could have finished 3.5 too.

His explanation for why he dropped it did make sense, though. This is a KZreadr whose job is to review other gatcha games, which can be massive timesinks in and of themselves. He seems to enjoy more traditional gatcha systems, for better or for worse, and Limbus isn't friendly at all to the types of players used to those systems. That, and he seemed to recognize the amount of commitment it takes to fully appreciate a game like this, especially for someone who likes optimization and maximum time efficiency. Blud chose the genuinely worst time to quit this game. Canto III is alright, Canto IV is great but the midgame is excessively long, just combat encounter after combat encounter making you wait for the next story bit. And that's where you stopped, ouch. You're missing the Canto IV ending, Canto V, and the currently developing Canto VI. These aren't just exceptional "for a gacha game", they are exceptional media in general. There's a reason why the ending to Canto V filled the PM space with "peak fiction" memes for a good month, it's because it IS peak fiction. You genuinely are missing out. Personally I'm a very low energy player, I can only play on the weekends at the moment. I buy the passes and I do one mirror dungeon hard playthrough per week. You didn't get to it, but MDH is not only a lot more engaging, but it only has one booster instead of three per week and rewards so massive that I, a low energy low spending player, can easily max out my favourite characters and get almost all the new content. Your comments on being inefficient seemed almost alien to me. These aren't your dailies, because if you treat them as dailies then you will literally run out of things to spend your resources on. At least if you do have the pass, which is just pocket change per month.

This means you can just do 1 Hard Mode run for the week instead of 3 Normal runs. Overall Well made review although I do have some comments. 1. Skipping a daily is inefficient, BUT, it also allows you to earn resources faster than you normally would have. Most/all people only do the thread dungeon when there is the daily bonus, by skipping you get 50% more daily than what you would get by doing it normally. It's not there solely to punish inconvenience, it's just another gameplay decision for players to make. 2. A daily mirror dungeon run isn't part of the game actual dailes/weeklies and shouldn't be represented as such, it's something that you personally felt you should do, not something incentivized by the game itself due to only 3 bonuses per week. In fact, since you said you must do things efficiently, wouldn't doing mirror dungeon without the bonus be considered inefficient? There's a difference in speed and efficiency as displayed in point 1. You don't consider killing every single mob spawn in HSR everyday for the mats a daily because it's not, it might be the most "efficient/optimal", but it's not a daily and shouldn't be considered a daily, same with mirror dungeon. 3. The weekly mirror dungeon bonus only needs to be done ONCE a week not three. Upon unlocking MD3H, you can do it once a week and claim all the rewards. 4. The fact that you state "This review are what the game let's me to accomplish in one month" and only finishing canto 3. Is a misrepresentation of the game itself, the only time gating in limbus is your stamina generation, no other version of time gating exist. Stamina resets every level up. You would have more than enough stamina to complete minimally until canto 4, more than likely until canto 5 and beyond. You only managed to reach partially into canto 4 isn't because the game time gated you. You just simply didn't play all that much. 25 hours in a month averages to less than an hour a day.

Indeed i feel that the stamina system is the most drawback for new players, as one can easily run out of modules or even lunacy and boxes trying to speed that This in itself is also good because it foeces people to not expend hours upon hours on it, whih is the original intent of stamina, to not make player play every hour. So it make the game more a long time comitment.

You could also just use lunacy refill once a day or even twice every day of the week for more efficient energy gain. Think about it, 1050 (without bugs) lunacy a week that can be converted into energy. Energy can be comverted into modules. Module can be made into xp, thread, or even yellow concretes from the mirror dungeon by fueling the lv120+ bonus, yellow crates allow you to unlock more ids and ego. Math time! This is based off of an energy cap of 120. Let’s say you replenish your energy with lunacy twice a day for every day of the week and convert that, alongside all of your naturally generated energy into modules. You’d then get 24 a day and or 168 a week. If a hard dungeon run costs 18 modules and normal costs 5, you can do 30 normal runs a week alongside one hard dungeon. Do you know what this means? A hard run is worth 225 pass xp and a normal run with no bonus is 30. Added all up you can get 1125 pass xp or *a hundred and twelve and a half pass levels in a week* which equates to 112.5 yellow crates (337.5 for those who bought the pass) ego crates a fucking week. For free to play players, that equates to a 000 id every two weeks and triple that for pass buyers. (Working with the average of 2 shards per crate as they can make 1-3 randomly) For pass buyers, it is possible to generate thousands of excess crates and literally never be able to not obtain something through sheer grinding force. This is even more true for launch players, and even more so for those who have already grinded for everything. Do you now realize the true magnatude of the sheer bullshit levels of insanity grinding can allow limbus players to do? Being capable of literally running the game dry and creating a stock of resources so grand they can’t EVER be depleted? Ofc crates and shards get cut in half at the end of every season but that’s just more thread for uptying/threadspinning.

Your stance on maxing out grinding really resonates with me personally. The feeling of losing out clashes with time constraints making it feel like a burden that one has to commit to with insufficient returns. Yet, I'd say that you gave this game too little of a chance. Exp tickets and Threadspin materials devalue rapidly. As you said, it's not like relics, where you can't have enough. It does not matter if I get 200% or 150% if I never get to use it... they just pile up. You also let, let's call them “hyper enthusiastic” players' takes influence your view on the Mirror dungeon. The satisfaction of getting the 3 weekly bonus rewards +1 hard bonus (after unlocking it) in a single go just feels good. Every subsequent run after that becomes minuscule in comparison. Instead of making me feel like I was losing out not running it daily, I felt like every subsequent run a week was a comparative waste! I feel good about the game because the dailies feel like the fastest thing just get the stamina resource twice and skip through the Battle Pass dailies in a few minutes. Pair it with 1 Mirror dungeon run (per week) and let the Battle Pass accumulate to get free characters that in other games would get pay and or time walled. TLDR: rush Limbus = crappy experience

Honestly extremely surprised you didn't even get to chapter 4 in an entire month. Most people had chapter 3 beat, or close to it, before the end of the first week of the game's launch. I'd expect someone who just started now to be able to get to at least canto 4 or 5 by the second week, even needing more levels for your sinner. Doing the exp luxcavations, even only once a day, should have been enough to get you a decent way through the older content, especially since you started during the anniversary. And, to be honest, I know Limbus is a gacha game and has a stamina system, but when you mentioned it felt like a single player game with gacha tacked on... that's basically what it is. Playing it like a normal gacha game isn't going to do it any favors. It's one of those games that, if you have the time and enkephalin, you can just power through as if it was a normal game. The lead dev of the game has said he likes gacha games but wishes they weren't so money hungry and p2w and he just wanted to make a good one.

I personally think it's a clever idea to limit the gacha to 12 characters through making the gacha system effectively a loadout gimmick. It allows the players to get to know each character personally rather then most gachas that dump dozens of characters upon you and hope you'll find a favorite, but that favorite will only have a small amount of screentime and character development, and slowly becoming a static NPC because the gacha needs to throw another 100 new characters for you to gamble money on.

This is probably the best limbus review I've seen out there, so I'll take the chance to add some things missing about progression as well as talking a bit about Refraction Railway since there is more to it than the cosmetics. There is a Support feature, meaning you can borrow Identities from your friends with whichever EGO they have asigned on to it, so if you got that one friend who has all the goodies you can use their stuff for Story content, Luxes and Railway. A thing to note about luxcavations, specifically thread is that they have 3 daily attempts to get thread for doing them. If you can skip them, you will end up getting way more than doing the battles manually as while you are getting x1.5 rewards for skipping, you still get more for attempts. For EXP tickets sadly this is not the case and it kinda is inefficient to skip but for Thread is quite recommendable that you skip either 1 or 2 times to get more thread daily. The mirror dungeon topic is also kinda finicky, since I agree that grinding it to oblivion can get extremely exhausting, but after you unlock hard mode, doing 1 hard dungeon and 1 normal a week nets you 25.5 pass levels and 750 lunacy per week, with even more if you decide to do more normal dungeons (without weekly bonuses normal and hard dungeons give the same rewards, the only difference being hard takes longer to beat) which can significally speed up progress. A tip that can help you stack on both modules and save lunacy is to do 1 daily refill of enkephalin with lunacy since you still generate more with the weeklies so you can save the lunacy and stack up on resources. If anyone wants a somewhat good daily cycle to literally just play the game for only 2-3 minutes a day, my current set up is just generating modules 2 times, one with a lunacy refill, then doing 1 EXP lux manually and skipping 1 Thread lux. This is enough to fill up the daily section of the battle pass, meaning 1 pass level, and a positive module gain. If you have a lot of modules, you can skip more Thread luxcavations for more thread. Some days if I feel like it I'll do a mirror dungeon, however it's not really a needed daily obligation. A thing to note is that my enkephalin capacity is of 140 as I'm manager level 72, so if anyone plans on following this, you might wanna do thread manually for some time and then whenever you can gain 5-6 enk. modules per full bar you can start doing this cycle. Now, the thing about the Railway from someone that has been able to participate and kinda tryharded the last 2 railways done, the cosmetic rewards are just offered for tryharding the mode, which in this case is trying to complete it with a total turn count as low as possible. Outside of that, the mode offers quite a lot of rewards for beating each fight, ranging from exp tickets and thread to 10 pull tickets and a special season specific 000 10 pull ticket that guarantees you will get at least one 000 identity from the specific season the ticket belongs to. However, these rewards are first time only, so most people can just do the specific railway once, get the rewards that actually matter and then never touch the mode again until the next railway.

You should be careful when making PM content, even if you just mention it you will get our people to flood the comment section trying to pull everyone who comes across it into this (R-Corp) rabbit hole XD Anyways, great video, as a launch player I feel like youve explained most of the stuff really on point. 2 things to note though, first, mirror dungeons: once you unlock mirror dungeon hard you will find that while it is one floor longer and indeed harder than its normal counterpart, claiming its rewards will consume all 3 normal mode bonuses as well, meaning you only need to do one MDH run per week for 22.5 BP levels. Ofc you can do additional runs for 3 lvls each but that’s just… not efficient. Once you are at this point it also doesn’t take long to finish the battle pass and get that sweet 69 crates every week from the MD alone, meaning with dailies you can buy an ID of your choice roughly every 3 weeks. That’s the reason why players who have played for a certain amount of time mostly just print IDs and save the lunacy for the walpurgisnacht event, where one cannot print the IDs Secondly the dailies and skip mechanic: while what you said holds true for exp luxcavation and you get 0.75 rewards per module, if you skip thread luxcavation for however often your remaining daily limit is (so 3 or below), you get the same amount of rewards than if you played it 6 times (since after you claimed all daily bonus you only get half rewards). So my and many players go to daily routine is fight the exp lux and skip thread lux 3 times. That way you also get all daily BP quests done.

Limbus is basically a full blown strategy game, with the gacha almost being left in the corner I mean if you have enough character shards you can just pick a character Id or ego you want well most of them, the amount of times I needed to rethink how to approach fights were tons, you really need to think about your teams and which ones are the right ones for certain fights, you can’t grind to be so stupidly overpowered, the only way you can be overpowered in way is if you have different teams to counter the different enemies and bosses, as a steam review has said limbus company is a gacha game where the developers have no idea what a gacha game is, and that’s honestly what makes it the best, and to add to it the story is amazing keep in mind that the first three cantos are basically the beginning of the game and basically let’s you experiment and learn the game after that everything steps up, the difficulty becomes much harder, and the story keeps becoming better and better pm can’t stop one upping themselves when it comes with the story.

i think me and some other people dont quite understand the "coping with the grind" argument at the end. I mean hey you got your own time, but if you wanna finish your daily then it usually takes between 5-10 mins of your day while mirror dungeons you just need to set your pace. The dungeons are not timed for one day and you can start and stop whenever as long as you get what YOU want within a week. IS that too much time out of your day ?(Cuz I've seen worse and more time consuming gacha games with little reward) You are right about sticking around will reward you as you eventually accumulate resources to easily get what you want. In fact, there is a hard mode for mirror dungeons that will accelerate your grind by completing 3 Weekly Bonuses in one run saving more "grind" time.

The game is friendly to low spenders while generating enough revenue to stay afloat and to save for future projects. Looks like the studio is fine with having enough instead of trying to mik each last cent from their playerbase. About the grind, i literally only craft my modules twice a day, skip a exp and thread luxcavation, do a hard dungeon a week and its all there is to it. This approach was enough for me to have all my EGO and IDs at least at uptie 3 and several of them at uptie 4 and keeping almost all of my relevant IDs at the level cap. One last thing, about the efficiency, sounds like your brain is oretty hard wired by other gachas, you are punished by not min maxing? Technically, yes, but the game is so generous that you dont need to min max, i played since launch, and bought 3 battle pass so far, and despite not min maxing, not finishing all my daily missions and "wasting resources", i got what i said above and almost all IDs and EGOs, you 100% dont need to min max in this game. I would say that the only necessary thing for a satisfatory progression is buying the battle pass and using your mirror dungeon weekly bonus (3 times a normal dungeon or 1 time a hard dungeon)

But I’ve been playing the game for a few months, got around 300-400 hours(?), and need about, 15 ids, and 30-40 EGOs. I’ve spent a good bit of money, and honestly, I love the grind. It’s tons of fun, I love the mirror dungeon grinding and absolutely steam rolling through some bosses, as well as sometimes soloing or duoing bosses. It’s all really fun, but I get not having enough time, it’s entirely fair. I hope you find your book within the Library though.

Tbh the grind is expected from a PM game, no spoilers for Lobo or Ruina but those have some grindy elements as well and the playerbase knows it. The grind however is always rewarded regardless of which game you're playing as the story, voice acting, artstyle and graphics always tell intresting and immersive stories and you can safely invest in any character and expect a satisfying payback. I've yet to play the game as I really wanted to finish Library before going into Limbus which from what I can tell I'm not too far from completing. Anyway, thanks for the review and as a PM fan I know I'd 100% buy stuff in Limbus both to support PM and because I know I'll be satisfied with what I get.

Obligatory "Day 1 Player here" Can I try to convince you to finish Canto 4.5? If no, then I guess it was a good review, although some parts are a little misrepresented... I hope you change your mind someday If yes then go to the bathroom, grab a snack and hear me out, because I like to write a lot (I have a problem with that XD)... the grind is not as heavy as you think, and the skip mechanic is not as punishing as it seems Limbus is as you said, a single player game disguised as a Gacha, and fundamentally, is a game of progression and development very much like the Sinners, you start in a rough spot: only 1 ID (Shi association Ishmael), without the ability to level up your characters without endlessly repeating the story stages, no easy way to get Lunacy for pulls.... but as you progress, more and more options open up that is to say: unlocking the Luxcavations and the Mirror is just the tip of the iceberg, the bare minimum... have you wondered why the Mirror locks your IDs at level 40? or why it has a Constellation filled with buffs, not for the characters, but for the Mirror itself? let’s tackle the Luxcavations and the skip function first, since that is an easy but long answer. In theory, you only need to do 1 of each luxcavation a day to fill out the dailies for the Battle pass, but as you said there are 3 daily bonuses for the THREAD luxcavation specifically, and not seeing it consumed triggers a sort of OCD... I'm here to tell you, thread is almost meant to be skipped "but the x0.75 rewards..." no, that doesn't apply in a completionist context... many others already told you in the comments, but because how the daily bonus works, each skip is equivalent to doing a luxcavation twice: once with the bonus active, and once without it, exactly the amount of modules you are paying this is, at least as of now, encouraged by the game progression, further EXP luxcavations increase the module cost, and with it, the skip cost... but further thread luxcavations do not at the end skipping thread luxcavations is a matter of cost efficiency rather than time... you can truly maximize the thread you get by running the luxcavation 3 times per day, but the difference is marginal, specially since in theory, the amount of thread you need is WAY less than the amount of EXP tickets you need regarding the EXP luxcavation, this one really needs only 1 run per day, doing more is almost pointless unless you are grossly underlevel, so the question is why the skip still gives you a 0.25 reward penalty? Honestly, I don't think it is a "punishing you for taking the easy way out" situation, but more of an "encouraging to DO the EXP lux" and this is needs a bit of context. originally both Luxcavations had the daily bonus system and no way to skip it BUT ALSO, the EXP lux gave way less in base, with the bonus giving more than what you now can get... after a couple thousand people asked PM to tweak that (grinding the EXP Lux was costly for the rewards it gave, absolutely not worth to do) they added the Skip functionality but also removed the bonus from the EXP lux, increasing the base amount of tickets it gave out. This was during the 1st and 2nd season period, where the level cap was 30-35 respectively and the max Uptie tier was 3... at this point skipping with the same cost is an option, but then why would you ever play the stage? skipping for a higher cost? why would you ever skip? that is directly punishing... how about skip with high cost BUT equivalent reward? same as the first case... why would you ever even consider playing the stage?? doing a x2 cost, 150% reward is a compromise where skipping gives you comparatively more than the original amount of tickets (pre skip), but also encourages you to actually play the stage... in both cases you are winning because prior to skipping, going ballistic with the grind, expending a high amount of modules gave you a lot less than what you can get now... it fell into the downward spiral of dependency a lot of games in the genre prey upon. It simply felt bad on the long run... That said, I don't blame ANYONE for believing the skip function is punishing... as I said, the changes on the Luxcavation system happened pretty early on, and a new player only see the downsides of today because they lack the context of the upsides given yesterday. ok... that was looooong I went a bit on a tangent there writing the context behind the efficiency... but in short skipping is mostly time efficient and running the EXP lux is mostly cost efficient compared to olden days Now to tackle the Mirror which is a shorter answer.... It is meant to be done ONCE per week... remember the initial questions I posed? why lvl 40, and why the constellation buffs interact with the Mirror itself? Because again, Limbus is at it's core, a game of progression you initially unlock the Mirror at the end of Canto 2, the way it handles rewards (you only pay if you claim) and the fact that levels you up HIGH is because it is a training ground of sorts more than anything. You familiarize yourself with different IDs, try loadouts with gifts that make even the hardest archetype to run, something trivial, and slowly build up your own knowledge of the game as well as the constellation, you grow with the ever present "Hard Mirror" looking at you, waiting... If you manage to master the Mirror, each run in the base mode can be completed in 20-30 minutes, put them all together and doing the 3 runs each week is about 2 hours of your time.... but that is a lot, no? that is because, the mirror doesn't prepare you to speedrun the base Mirror... the Mirror prepares you for it's Hard version. There, it stops helping you learn, it assumes you already know enough, so it uses your real ID levels, doesn't let you plan in advance what route you go (in exchange makes the shops and rest stops fixed...) and the enemy buffs become a true challenge by Floor 5 The reward? you can only get its rewards once a week, it burns all your remaining weekly bonuses giving you a base of 15 battle pass levels, plus 250 lunacy and 2 and a half extra BP levels per burnt bonus, for a total of 22.5 BP levels and 750 lunacy, all in just one mirror run, no more need to do the Mirror more than once a week once you conquer the hard version... and as you unlock more stars in the constellation, the runs become easier A full constellation, fully optimized run of the hard mirror should take around 30-45 minutes, which you can cut into bite-size pieces, doing for example just 1 floor everyday or something My point is... the grind progresses with you: at the beginning you struggle because of the initial tedium, but over time the game itself gives you the tools you need to make things easier and easier And you could refute me saying the Mirror changes every season, and the starlight buffs are lost, making everything a pain again... and to that I say... at that point new players will still be learning their part with the base Mirror... and if you have already beaten the Hard Mirror, you should be in a position where it is not really difficult to do it just once a week... the hard mirror even gives you more starlight than the base one, so getting the stars should be easier and faster than your first time with the system and that is all I have to say about the grind in this game... I could speak about other aspects of it, but well... you see the length I ask you to play until Canto 4.5: S.E.A. because Canto 4 unlocks the hard mirror, it has a STUNNING dungeon (at the cost of some pacing issues in the normal levels... let's say, fighting an entire terrorist organization means a lot of nobodies along the way) and Canto 4.5 is the last one that uses the same artstyle for the CGs (shit happened, I beg you don't look further onto why is that the case), so you can treat it as a closure of sorts Sorry for the absolute bible by the way, I just thought I should at least try to explain things and try to convince you to continue with the game. regardless... thanks for reading if you got here :3 (edit: grammar)

As rather fresh limbus company player and a fan of project moon games. I enjoyed watching the review. If you are a player that wants to enjoy gacha without having to spend a hefty amount of cash, this is your option. If you're an enjoyer of story and lore instead of fan service, it’s your pick. And lastly, if you're a person looking for a challange and a test of your gameplay comprehension capabilities, look no further than this. Also upon observation on the grind, I will agree that at first it may seem rather problematic with the skip battle option, but later on you learn that it's pretty easy with you needing to simply use winrate as the enemies don't pose much of a threat when you reach equal level to luxcavation. On top of that, thread luxacavation daily bonus can stack with skip battle bonus making it 2x for 2x, teaching you that you don't need to grind too much and do it as daily checklist.

Been playing since a little beyond launch. My grind is the daily thread and tickets, and then one Mirror Dungeon Hard every week. Excluding new events/content I'd say I spend about two and a half hours total weekly. I do the EXP daily manually, and then auto the thread since it's a better value, and that takes me like 5 minutes. And the MDH takes a while, but it uses all of my mirror dungeon runs and gives me the rewards from all of them. Granted, I already have the units to make all of that easier, but once you have a good "ol' reliable" team, you then start playing around with other units and teams, and you get to the point where you're looking forward to trying out dungeon runs with different combinations and team strategies. Not saying you're wrong or right, but that's just my experience as a player. Oh, and I hope you love Ruina! And if you change your mind and come back to Limbus, then you won't have to worry about FOMO, so...

The great thing about the Dispensary is that it's both good for new and old players -New Players: They're able to pick and choose from the large pool of units that they actually want once they get the Egoshards for it from dupes -Old Players: Except for one specific case, if they already have everything, when something new comes out, they can just dispense it with Egoshards they can easily grind up on instead of spending their lunacy on pulls (Walpurgisnacht is the ONLY banner which you can't do this, so invested players now save their lunacy specifically for this banner) Edit: Once you unlock Hard Mirror Dungeon you can run this once a week as opposed to doing 3+ mirror dungeon runs, as it lets you redeem all your weekly mirror dungeon bonuses at once, on top of the (minor) hard bonus, which gets you 20+ levels on the BP at once.

The best way to explain how long a single mirror dungeon takes is about 40 minutes atleast when your speeding through it. Use the mirror dungeon to experiment teams and gaining the grinds for more rewards. The game gets harder for players who haven't played early like the moment it was released, I started playing around when season 1 was almost over was out and missing lots of rewards during first season leaving me behind for a bit and didn't complete the first side story. So grinding is really important in experimenting, especially in events. Some ways to get by is to have a friend list. You can use one unit they specifically own and replace one of your ids this helps out and also let's you try out these units almost indefinitely. But yeah for me the fastest I can do a single mirror dungeon is around 40 Minutes, I also just use the skip for exp and thread simply because it's faster and I get 50% extra resources but the cost is so expensive for the exps. Anyway limbus company is free to play friendly but with skill invole, I managed to beat the first 3 chapters with all default sinners no problem, with a bit of grinding sadly didn't finish the first season. GL yall and also love the review.

Thank you for playing limbus and investing yourself into the universe. As a launch player its nice to see the insights of a player starting a year in. You are right in that the game rewards you for staying with it, as it’s easy to see only a mountain of stuff you don’t have and don’t ever think you can all get when starting not at launch. I know this as I started a second account on steam during season 2 and wow is it easy to see how there is so much you’ve missed out on. As everyone says with time you can obtain everything the longer the game goes on the more time one needs to invest to actually get everything. To me the best change they can make is making season pass ego available from extracting it. At least to my knowledge, pass ego is not obtainable from extraction, which I see as a problem due to ego such as Fluid Sac Faust being so incredibly game changing that it’s almost insulting to lock it behind just ego shards. When it comes to the grind, once you unlock hard mode and the fusion ego gifts from the dungeon upgrades in only about an hour and a half to two hours you can do only a single run for the entire week and need to do nothing more as hard mode runs consume all remaining weekly bonuses. One final thing I’d like to note on specifically the grind is that limbus has been consistently improving its grinding aspects, especially its mirror dungeon grind as on launch it was both easy yet boring and you needed to do it like 7 times a week. Then Mirror Dungeon 2, Mirror of Mirrors was revealed and it introduced shops for ego and rest stops and finally hard mode for it which at the cost of difficulty made grinding a lot less grindy and more like actual gameplay. The limbus grind in my opinion, isn’t a grind due to how genuinely fun it is. The stages have meaning and purpose and aren’t just slog fests of the same boring thing. As a final note in general, time investment and enjoyment are linear. The more time you spend, the more stuff you unlock and the more stuff you unlock the more possibilities for team compositions open up allowing you to make experiment and do more stuff which means more fun. A good example is getting the full blade lineage team going in mirror dungeon hard with all the poise gifts possible. They rip and tear. You got no idea how satisfying having blade lineage Sinclair popping a 300 on the final boss is. Or running a full rupture team on a hard boss and having them just melt once you got your rupture stack going. Once more, thank you so much for playing limbus and publishing this review of it on KZread, it’s so wonderful seeing different eyes on this game alongside Project Moon’s other creations. I hope you have a wonderful time with Library of Ruina, as it’s not any easier than limbus.

Just something to note at 10:17 the buff mentioned is likely due to the characters offence level being higher then the enemy with offence level being the characters level plus or minus a number based on the specific id(the name for alternative versions of the characters) this can range between plus 5 and minus 5 (I think) although I believe for player id’s the lowest it goes is minus 3. The important part is that for every 3 offence levels one target has over the other they get plus 1 class power this is added onto your number after you coins are flipped and only affect clashing not the actual attack after the clash I believe that it also makes you deal more damage but I’m not sure about exact numbers for that anyway hope this small thing might just help and new managers this video might bring in because my gosh these characters and world are amazing library of ruina is easily my favourite game ever and I would highly recommend that to anyone looking for a fun challenge (especially since it’s being released on switch and PS4) so if your interested in a slightly more complex and much tougher version of limbus without Gacha (even lots of fun mods for tons of extra content) I cannot recommend library of ruina enough 11/10 game although I do still recommend limbus too since it is free to play so why not give it a try right (also I’m curious so I’m just gonna leave this here K270714019)

Sometimes the time is more valuable, I go back and forth between skipping some days and just mashing "win rate" until the boss falls while I pay attention to something else. I'll also say that it's only 25% inefficient as opposed to 50% like you said, and the time saved is ultimately the more valuable thing. It's a bit of an adult choice and I don't think either option is bad. The mirror dungeon grind is very much a real thing though. My other comment got long so instead of adding more I’m just gonna say it here but I absolutely love the sharding feature as even the battle pass ego can be extracted with shards next season ( also for season specific ids they can be sharded after the next season so season 1 and 2 ids can be sharded in season 4 and s3 ids can be shared in season 5) so even if your just joining now it’s not like any ids or ego are inaccessible to players the closest thing are Walpurgisnacht ids and egos which can only be sharded during future Walpurgisnachts but even then if you save some shards for that character then yeah they can be sharded like any other Id/ego. Also mirror dungeon hard only needs to be done 1 a week for full rewards so even if it wasn’t fun it’s is optimal so ye

The game has a interesting world and I wouldnt say theres a rush to reach lategame, while every event so far except two required the player to have practically finished the story they dont gatekeep you out of their content with recent events being able to be completed without even playing the event (through MDs)

Canto 6 is just peak especially if you're more invested into the story. After Canto 3 was kind of the point where they really started ramping up the story and make it much more cinematic. Also, you failed to mention the support mechanic where you can borrow a friend's ID on some content such as the railway (Not mirror dungeons though), so if your friend has an ID you don't have, then you can still have access to it and they retain any upgrades such as upties and whatever EGO they equip onto that ID.

I've been playing since the release and I fully understand your decision, but still, I would recommend overcoming the desire to maximize the benefits and just enjoy the story, it's worth it.

One of the reason I think the grind is not as bad as people portray it is that you can see the end of it. There's no infinitely scaling RNG equipment or anything of the sort. Also some details you forgot to mention: * you can BORROW characters from people in your Friend List. If you're having trouble catching up to the later chapters, borrow a maxed out ID that'll let you power thru the earlier chapters faster. It also serves as a "preview" feature to test characters you don't currently have. * the Mirror Dungeon grind automatically SCALES your characters to the level cap, only the uptie level matters there, at least in Normal Mode. In Hard Mode, however, it does reflect your current character level.

About mirror dungeons. Completion of the hard mode uses up all the weekly bonus of normal mode aswell as +90 battle pass exp, giving you a total of 225 battle pass exp. It is longer and more manual, but it becomes a much more sustainable way to get rewards. Grinding is still optimal after that for boxes, though.

As a gacha game hater I started limbus in the first week after having played Library of Ruina since I loved that game so much, just to see what PM would do. Now I have every ID and EGO and I've been absolutely loving the story, and I only play 1 hard mirror dungeon a week with maybe a few dailies here and there. While I prefer the combat mechanics of Ruina, I was still extremely impressed with limbus and I've been playing since release. I can see it being hard to catch up on the 3 season's worth of EGO (or more in the future) and the grind can be a bit much until you unlock mirror dungeon hard mode or better dailies that you get later in the story progression. It definetely feels that as long as you are playing once in a while for a couple seasons you will pretty much have everything you want, though. You explained everything pretty well in the video!

Best way to describe Limbussy is "The gacha game where the devs pay YOU to use the gacha.". No joke, I used to hate gachas and wasn't a fan of the fact that this game will be one... I still hate gachas, but Limbus is the exception lmao.
