Bought this monitor for my son, 120hz mode on PS5 works like a dream on it

Dude, thank you for explaining the IPS/VA differences. I really appreciate that. I’m between this monitor, the Samsung Odyssey G55A, or the LG G32gp750. But I think I’m leaning towards this one.

Awesome video! A question, How did you enable the 165Hz? I’m using the display port cable that came with the monitor and radeon settings says that this display doesn’t support 165hz :( May you pleas advice? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

IPS is amazing for switching from black to white. If you check out the Gaia star map you can notice a breathing effect when moving it around with VA. It’s a good test to check out

Hey.. im looking a monitor for my series x would you recommend this one for it..?

Very solid monitor overall and I recommend it for anyone who just broke bank getting the new consoles. Got this used when I first got my SX and it performed so well for a budget monitor, not to mention 1440p 120hz right out of the box. Even compared to my now main monitor, the samsung odyssey g7 it’s still a solid performer. One thing often overlooked is reliability. This thing has given me absolutely no problems whereas my g7 has had some annoying software issues. All in all, a solid pick for anyone who wants a reliable solid budget performer. Good review but I disagree on the 32 in for immersion. 27in is optimal for immersion and pixel density on a Qhd monitor.

@@DevTee_ yea I did. Bought the exact same monitor, 32" in 1440p and makes a huge difference imo. The picture on that size screen in 1080 just didn't look as crisp as I wanted. I love the new one.

Is the Vg24vq1b a good choice?

I'm having issues with this monitor and my series s. It's looking a bit cloudy or fuzzy. I've had to very specifically setup the settings and idk if I've set it up the best.. :( Also getting chopping jerky playback on KZread and Skyrim??

Do you think I should just go for ASUS vg27aq ? do you think the VA panel on this is bad ? should I just go for vg27aq for the ips panel ? since it is a free sync compatible monitor does g-sync on it work like how it would work on a g-sync compatible monitor?

I think you should go for which one fits your budget. The VA panel is very solid and I have had no complaints personally. IPS will give you a slightly better image IMO. But you run the risk of extra ghosting with IPS because the higher refresh rate.

Picked it up for $289 on Best Buy today. My 6800xt was screaming cranking out 200+ FPS on my little 1080p 60hz monitor. Needed to upgrade.

@@allkindzzz3039 It’s a good monitor. I probably would have gone with the 27” though. The screen is a lot bigger than I thought plus Higher pixel density with the 27”.

It’s only free sync. Not compatibility with G-Sync from what I could find.

is this a good fit for a xbox series s?

I've never used a gaming monitor before but I bought this one , Im picking it up tomorrow I've been using a sharp tv from 2013 55inch but I wanted to try something to make the game smoother because I'm playing NHL on PS5 so do you think I will notice a big difference with the refresh rate , I hope so.. it's not 55 inches but if the gameplay is better and I score more goals then it's worth it. Because playing NHL online sometimes it feels like I'm just one or two seconds behind everybody else could be my internet as well.

I get white spots on all corners and at the bottom, while watchin movie with lights off :( guess this spotting is common on VA panels

That thing is fire. I was deciding between that and the LG Ergo UHD 4k. I ultimately went with the LG because of the stand. Footnote. Your video quality looks good. I'm going to buy the camera you use if/when I hit 1000 subs. Which lenses do you use? I'll be upgrading from a a5000 (thank God for good lightening and lenses)

Thank You! I use the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 for the lens its a awesome lens and only cost around $400. I'm sure you will have no problem hitting 1000 plus subs!

@@BobasLife I use the rode videomic ntg, rode wireless go II, stellar X2 vintage and electro voice re20. I went all in on lights and mics and I'm just making the old camera work

How effective will this be with a PS5?

Just picked it up for $289 today on sale. I think I did pretty well. Trying to pair up a good monitor with my Series X. Hope this does the trick.

So many different settings and it’s just mind boggling because I just went from a 10 year old Samsung tv to this monitor and it’s awesome. I was running 60 FPS at 1440p on battlefield and it looked amazing other than the annoying glitches.

Not that I have noticed.

I just ordered this monitor to replace a $500 4 month old 27 inch IPS 165 Hz monitor for the curve and the size . I had a VA curved monitor before and liked it better than any flat screen IPS monitor I ever had. My curved monitor died and I could only find a flat screen. But since this was on sale for $300 and I can get $300 for my IPS monitor it’s a even trade

@@clay1240 If you are still in the same scenario keep your monitor. The curved monitor I loved so much had a 1000r curvature that matches the curvature of the human eye and at 27 inches sitting up close it pulled me into the game. This monitor has a 1500r curvature and it has dead pixels and massive light bleed. The picture quality and colors are awful comparable to a older bottom tier Hisense TV. The Samsung G7 and G5 have a 1000r curvature and both models come in 27 inch and 32 inch.

To get optimal hdr it needs to be 4k otherwise it’ll look like crap

I just run it on scenery mode when I game with overdrive set 80% and with AMD Freesync premium on. Sometime I run it in HDR Mode depending if the games have it.

@@BobasLife gotcha Honestly I searched high and low for a screen setting video for this monitor A lot of people recommend this one specifically because it can downscale the 4k to 2k on ps5 which can’t natively run 2k graphics Maybe make a video highlighting the different screen settings for different types of games and for different consoles or something? Just a thought!

Got it for $171 out the door today and it doesn't look very good to me.

They messed up HARD with that strikingly unexpected lack of USB port, plus it doesn't raise. What a massive deal-breaker. Good review man!

Are you saying that a 27" curved monitor looks less sharp than a 27" flat? Even if that's technically true, it's not noticeable.

Wish you would have shown the monitor and display actually on.

@@alesana7542 no if this monitor was released a tad bit more modern/newer it would have but I'm getting the high er 120 frames and screen its response time etc is on point... It was 170 so I knew I wasn't gonna get both 120 and 1440 at same time.... The curve style is cool but since I got this so cheap I'm already prepared to gift this monitor and pick up pricier monitor with all the bells n whistles

Not really. 27 inch curved monitors are still more immersive than 27 inch flat monitors . I would argue that a 32 inch is to big because you will have to sit further away from the monitor

Was a great review but you definitely got the wrong monitor. You coulda got the same 32 inch Asus Tuff VG32VQ for the same price that's way better than this by far. That is if you're ok with 144hz monitor. Good review though regardless.

You won't notice anything negative about this monitor, this is the best monitor I've ever had!

What is the monitor number?

Wow you think a 32 inch curved is small? I would never go bigger then 27. My buddy has a 32 curved and he agrees it’s to much for competitive gaming and around 27 is a good sweet spot. I also think the same thing. 32 inch and your eyes start looking around. You don’t want that in competitive shooting games. Yes 32 might be nice for other games besides shooters. But I definitely disagree when it comes to shooter games. You didn’t show any game play. Just a black screen or two second clip. Waste of time to watch

How are you going to do a review and not turn the PC on to show gaming….

Don’t delete your comment, you don’t necessarily have to show the screen resolution but just turning it on and recording the screen at 1080p with your camera is good enough to get an idea.

You failed to mention the terrible ghosting issue it has. Anything that is dark with ghost and leave a smearing effect, it's just not good for any games.

@@BobasLife I guess its a possibility that my monitor is defective, but other reviews on amazon and other places usually say it has a ghosting problem. It can be tuned down really well, but it's still very noticeable when it comes to darker places.

Read a lot of negative reviews about that. I just turned mine on and it overall looked terrible. It's the first monitor I have ever bought. The speakers are garbage idk why they are even there. 100% volume sounds 100xs worse than my cell phone.
