This is too amazing, and with Andy Bell singing backup! Sometimes the stars align and all things in the world are right.

one thing is that Feargal Sharkey has the gift to be able to sing with out even trying.

The best & most serious song Vince has ever written.

I'm just blown away by this, cannot seem to stop watching it now I've found it - what a memory for that lucky audience

Absolute top drawer, that. Totally brilliant rendition of a classic. Fergal's not lost it! Kudos for Vince (obviously) & great backing vocals there by Andy Bell & the girls.

Fergal This is wonderful.

To those commenting on the way he behaved after the song… This was the first time Feargal had sang live in front of a concert audience in 20 years. He probably wanted to get off stage asap as he was mentally struggling to contain his emotions. I am sure he stayed until the concert was finished and spoke with Andy. He hasn’t sang live again since.

Well fair play. I usually get quite annoyed with people who record concerts on their mobiles. Not for any copyright protection or such like things, but because I think you should go and enjoy the concert and not be as obsessed with your filming skills, as you are with seeing the artist. However, on this occasion, thanks for doing just what I usually hate, as I would never have got to see this wonderful performance by Shergal Farkey. What a joy. :)

first time heard sing this since the track came out yearss ago very nice

here's the chain of events leading to my viewing this video tonight: was listening to my Jesus and Mary Chain channel on Pandora. Heard the song Teenage Kicks by the Undertones and dug the singer's unique-ish voice. While listening, I read the band's Wiki page and happened to see that Feargal Sharkey recorded one song with The Assembly, Never Never. KZreadd that song and after hitting a roadblock at the first three links, ie. the site's idiotic copyright verbiage, or whatever, I hit the jackpot on the fourth link attempt - this live version of the song. Now....time to get back over to another trail of breadcrumbs and a Devo song.

Feargal I just wish you’d do one last reunion with the undertones in Derry.

I somewhat agree with you, while at the same time I like to record a couple of tracks of performances I watch. However, I always try my best not to get my camera in peoples line of sight. I hate it when people lift their camera high above the audience, blocking other peoples view. I always hold my camera in front of my own face instead of somebody elses.
