For over 30 years I've been enjoying the ancient art of rehairing and preparing bows. However it never ceases to amaze me the Magic musicians can create with basically horse hair on a stick!
And when the Magic is on one of my original instruments it's even more sweet..

Amazing. I aspire to be such a luthier as you one day ! Any advice to a beginner in bow repair and double bass luthiery in general?

Hi mate. Glad you’re inspired. It really depends where you are in the world as to whether you can get access to one of the instrument making schools. Doing any course on instrument, making, evening classes or something like that is a great way to get started. alternatively become good friends with your local Violin Maker, repairer, and offered to sweep their floors and clean out their dust, extractors etc and you might end up having a career in the field. That’s what I did. 😉
