Not a fighter, but this is relatable. I was so proud of getting into nursing school with the top entrance exam grade in my cohort and thought I was gonna make it look easy. I failed in the very first semester. Pathetic. Went home, got really depressed and thought my life was over. I had waited so long to commit to a career path and when I finally chose one I sucked at it and couldn't face the people I proudly announced my acceptance into the program to. My parents were the ones who talked me back from the edge and told me if I didn't get back up and try again then I'd never forgive myself. They believed in me even after I failed miserably. That and the anger I felt at myself for the humiliation lit a fire under my ass. I re-applied to the program, got accepted again the very next year, fully embraced my past failure and learned from it. I ended up graduating with honors. The moral of the story is you can let failure break you and make you bitter OR you can do something positive with it. You can learn from it. Without my failure I honestly do not think I would be half the nurse I pushed myself to be afterward. Now I've been a nurse for 5 years and am on my way to being a nurse practitioner, God willing. Life goes on.

But he forgot to put in the video that some fights weren't actually a lose so technically it's not a loss but he could have put it up which would have made it interesting as some fights there was cheating or a technicality so they count I as a no contest after the fight sometimes much longer like weeks.

Amazing topic for a video 👏 wish it was longer even though You hit all the main facts. Especially at the end you said exactly what i am thinking. I feel every graceful loss does honestly raise a fighters stock even and especially with new fans. Grace can even boost a fighters image to someone who was never a fan. Its a no loss game. Like you said “even if forced” grace and humility is always, by far, the best possible reaction. Easier said than done i know. But sometimes the salt and excuses weeks after on socials baffles me. You have had time to consider if you should say it or not. it is rarely beneficial to make excuses/explain away the loss. Has it ever benefited a fighters legacy/ reputation in the past ? Its crazy to think it still happens. Even if i was rooting for that particular fighter . When i see explanations all i see is salt and my opinion of them Only goes down. Can only imagine when we hear the excuses that its in no small part down to the people that a fighter surrounds themselves with.

4:48 that is a good point. I don’t think I have ever heard anyone else make, because that is probably exactly what happens. After a fighter gets asked over and over again about the loss, his self-control starts to slap and gradually more and more he starts making excuses. It seemed like Ngannou did that just last week right after the fight he was giving dude his props but then during the week his story changed.

Don't like ronda being called delusional. A lot of people would be depressed of they went through that too. You go from finishing people in seconds, being the face or one of the faces of the company, the media adores you, you get "distracted" from your training and but are still finishing ufc fighters in seconds. You're selling crazy fights and are undefeated clearly on your way to greatness. In terms of her boxing why would she not trust he coaches when they have helped her achieve such results? The whole world is on your side, your not trying to do this "fake humbleness out fear" thing, people appreciate this and cheer you everywhere you go. Then one day you get kicked on the head and must question if anything you believed about yourself and how good you are was ever true. I mean it seemed so real didn't it? I think a lot of people going from that high then being concussed on live TV and people are happy about it and turn on you would get a lot of people to not want to talk for a while and extremely depressed. Her world was shattered bro, that's like learning your wife is cheating or something, (the reality you believed is brought to question) and everyone is celebrating cos this proves you aren't the shit and aren't lovable as you thought you were. Besides age came back and attempted to fight again, which a lot of people wouldn't do after that. And as for her skills she's pretty good, she had holes in her game and would have performed better against holly had she had good enough striking to defend herself and close the distance to start using her judo, a lot of people forget that as bad as she supposedly was, she still lasted two rounds, and had a submission attempt. She was also my opinion trying too hard to strike which if she didn't would have fared better. If her striking got good enough (not great) that she could close distance and take holly down (which she already did BTW) I thibk it would be 5 rounds instead of 2 rounds even if hse loses but I do think there's a chance she wins seeing she got a sub attempt that holly got out of partly cos ronda made a mistake if I remember and more time on the ground =more sub attempt =higher chance she wins. Even miesha tate went 5 rounds with Holly and Ronda beat her twice. So saying there's zero chance ronda goes 5 rounds with a better strategy is incorrect. Consider also that miesha tate beat Holly by submission and Ronda is not only better at this but got a sub opportunity in the first round with Holly.

There is no shame in a loss, The source of shame comes from Pride and Hubris the only antidote to shame is true humility.

This is a Fantastic Movie. Not Even Going to Disrespect and Label This the "V" Word. Wonderful Perspective on the Other Side of the Win. I Love the Visual Composition Chosen, All The Behind-The-Scenes Shots, Along with the Narration Which All Came Together to Build the Dark Tone this Piece Deserved. Oh So Cinematic... Very Well Done !!

I was impressed with how MVP reacted to lose to Lema. I wanted to see him lose so bad, then he took his lose like a man and schooled me. I like him these days 🙏
