Each step of the process is endlessly fascinating and is the result of craftsmanship, love and dedication which shows in the perfection of the finished drum. True artists are not just painters or sculptors; but they are people who create things of beauty and joy from almost nothing. By using simple tools, expert knowledge, a passion for perfection and a desire to continue traditions in a world that is losing its way, they are preserving human skills whose value is beyond measure. Thank you

Just a funny personal item you reminded me of. A very good friend during high school was a drummer, his actual name is John Smith (yup) but he knew some of the yearbook staff so he got them to put his name as John Bonham in the year book, he was his hero!

Phenomenal video and I am impressed at how much of the process was done "in-house" e.g. making hemp rope, to say nothing of screen printing the material for the protective case etc. Very very impressive.

Thank you for watching and for your nice comments! The great thing about producing in-house is that we can achieve sustainable production and consistent sound production!
Now, I have much, much more respect for all kinds of Taiko drums. I knew that sounds aren't coming just from the instruments, I hear the sound of love and passion... I wish you guys the best of the best. Keep doing what you do. You're inspiring many people around the world. Ray, from La Jolla Taiko School. San Diego, California

There is a lot to be said about the benefits of traditional hand made items by people who care about their craft. Mass production can't hold a candle to the quality of it.

I love their tools more than the final product. Tools are so scientifically made. Dear Author, please watch Indian drum "Tabla" making videos. You wll love it.
@kodawari.official

This is what happens when you have a homogenous society. Old traditions and craftmanship is kept alive and honored. Compare that to the heavy influx of immigration in most European countries where multiculturalism is pushed like some sacred thing when it's only lead to detrimental destruction of those countries!

I do disagree, we learn so much from each other and peoples that have become too isolated have died off because of their isolation.
