Yeah it's a great game and like you say, having that bridge between the physical and digital worlds was really fun!!

I am currently at my bed at 3 am remembered this wacky arcade card game I used to play as a kid and then started trying to figure out what it was. This was one hell of a nostalgia hit for me.

@@PIXELPORTABLE there's a game I found that's slightly similar called dino king its like animal kaiser but in a rock paper scissors format and obviously dinosaurs rather than animals

This was the shits during my childhood there were even fake booster boxes with cards thay actually worked and everyone wanted the rare boss cards this was everything from around 2010s i think i stopped properly around 2016 or 2017 and didn't play it when it was still around sadly now i think cards are no longer being produced and so no more machines are around where i live sadly oh the good old days

I fucking love this game so much, holy shit the music and animations went SO DAMN RAW, I miss it so much Really hoping for a home release somehow, someday

This is so nostalgic. I was looking at old cards and others and then I saw a red binder with animal kaiser cards. And then I remembered I used to have a big binder filled with animal kaiser cards. And I found a box with animal kaiser cards. I was so addicted that my uncle printed some of the barcodes so I don't need to get them to use them. I use to force my mom to let me play every time I see it. Its amazing that someone's recognizing the beauty of this amazing arcade game

Same here! I live somewhere in Indonesia and the game was fairly popular at the time it was released in my country (around 2010 ish), and nowadays it's hard to find the old version of the game since they all got replaced with the new "Strong Animal Kaiser" machine which needs a different set of cards than the old one.. I still have my big collection of cards but now it's collecting dust because I can't find a machine to play them on anymore :(

I'm amazed that the game is all in English, too. Maybe that's a good place to go to play many obscure games like this in English!

I randomly remembered this game and it was my entire childhood.. I still have my stack of cards stored somewhere but I can't play them anymore cuz I've been going around trying to look for the arcade machine with no luck of finding any.. There's probably a way to buy the machine online but i wouldn't know how much it would cost, and with how obscure this game is it's probably going to be pretty hard to find one.

Yeah, getting hold of a machine would be great but hard work to track one down. There's new machines coming to the UK at least sometime soon so depending on how hard it is for you to get to the UK that could be an option! Good luck.

Remembered playing these back in the day. At first i have the cards from school bazaars and other places, but have no ideas how and where to play them. Then i got more cards, and i started playing them in arcades. And then i bought more cards, even traded some with a friend (IT WAS A MR FOOTBALLFISH). Sadly they were no more booths and only my cards are left. But if they did a digital release for these cards, sell me out

I used to love this when I went on holiday to Devon like 7-8 years ago and played this and gathered a decent stash but I lost it a long time ago and have never seen a mention of animal kaiser ever again until I saw this

My favorite game when I found it on holiday, found it again now, still love it. Too bad it isn’t able to be got anywhere but arcades, I'd pay good money to get it on console or PC, or something else.

Man back then this was my go to game whenever i go to malls and arcades. And despite how stupidly ridiculous the attacks can be, but it's still fun to play imo. Too bad i never got to experience Great AK on top of now the game is now discontinued Probably uncalled for but, despite the simple role number gameplay this game has quite the lore for the "character" animals (not those generic ones). Starting from Dark Force arrival, ancient beast, kaiser awakening, mecha rampage, space invaders, and so on lol

The final antagonist which was Vertus was quite lame when it comes to motivation. In a nutshell he was "hahaha! I'll destroy the entire universe because i'm evil!". If he was like Beerus or Galactus, he would've been a lot better.

The chaos of cabinets games like that just make it all the more fun. Reminds me of the Tram/Metro Racing Cabinet that exists, and similarly to the PC game Fight Crab.

I've just had the pleasure of walking around the Pokemon Center at Tokyo Skytree. Where I saw the new cabinets for a new Pokemon arcade game that is basically the same as animal kaiser, but you have these plastic long plates (think squashed sausage). You can use a mega evolution bracelet on the machine to gigantimax the pokemon. Basically, animal kaiser is dead but a new game using pokemon IP will be good for those that miss this kind of game!!

god i miss this game so much, used to play it at the arcade monthly until one day it was just gone didn't know that it was discontinued until i watched this video

This was now about 2 years ago in Thialnd, since then the machine I played has been removed. The good news however is that a BRAND NEW reboot of the game just dropped here in the UK and I'll be making a video on it very very soon!!!!

Animal kaiser was fun that has never been replicated at least for me. I could watch the attack animations forever. My luck in cards I got was pretty universally bad until I got the spiny turtle kaiser. I was pretty happy that day.

They never got like an ultra rare variant but a lot of the fun of the game was using different low rarity animal cards instead of the named characters lol

Sadly I only saw one in Indonesia and it didn't give out card prizes. I didn't even see one in Japan, and I travelled across the whole country and was there for 6 months 🥲. 😂 The hardest but is going to be the card reader unless it works via webcam it something, which in theory should work. World have been nice if the cards had argumented reality, where you use a phone app to make them come alive.

U actually can play this in ur PC, with some complicated mods tho. Rule number one, buy the machine, it cost more than USD1500 in indonesia

Gonna try shorten this, but apologies if I accidentally drop my life story on you. Basically, for the last 2 days I have been researching the locations of the Animal Kaiser machines so I can play them one more time. I even still have a card from the first time I played it in 2017. Anyways, during my (very important) research, I was sent this video by a friend. Now, high quality and genuinely funny video aside, this video help me 1) remember what this game was originally like when I first played it, and 2) that people actually still care about this game. Thanks for the motivation, and the actually quality video. TLDR; i was researching animal kaiser, found your video, it gave me motivation to keep researching. thanks for the motivation. :)

have you found a location yet? I have the same goal but i've had no luck for the past year.

I fucking loved this arcade game in this one holiday park that my family always went to, it was always there and I staked up 67 cards which were a £1 each. But when we went last year the machine wasn’t there anymore and I was gutted I would fucking die to see one of the machines again and play I loved watching the battle animations it always made me smile and laugh watching gameplay rn gives me hella nostalgia also I feel so cool having gold cards and usually being able to finish thru the last rounds when in solo 😎😎😎😎 Fucking reincarnated priest mammoth I love that it’s funny it’s cause you’d actually probably see something like that I love this game to my very core it deserves so much attention

Talking Animal Kaiser without talking about the OG trading Card scanning game Mushiking , Love&Berry and Dinosaur King? At least Mushiking got 1 near accurate ds port that solds with a scanner for japanese card, 3 avgs named greatest road to the victory

Would love to play more machines! Found a 8 machine in Indonesia but it didn't give out cards! I was so sad. Almost beat the shark boss until it resurrected again and split me in half with a grim reaper, I survived on "survivor" skill and went dark force but it just split me in half again 😂 one day I'll beat a boss and I'll feel great

@@PIXELPORTABLE sorry to ruin your expectation, the game is discontinued already, even Great Animal Kaiser (newest) cant compete with mobile games since 2014, most of kids have their own smartphone already around that year. But u can still see some footage of it in youtube, like fighting an alien whale who can destroy earth with only his tail swing, or Mecha Animal that can combined into a frickin gundam

Certainly not got the same charm as actually scanning, but you could use a scanner to read the data from a real card if you wanted! Also, if you find one of the new cabinets, please let me know where! I am waiting (not so) patiently for AK+ to come out near me! 😂

@@twilightknight09 My newe video comes out this weekend on it (currently editing the video) IF you are UK based, the easiest location to play the new* Animal Kaiser machines is Camden Bandai Cross Store in London, there's where I got permission to film and it's one of the few locations in London, the rest are on the coast at Holiday parks. Thank you so much for the info on the emulator AND the ability to playwith your old cards, I'm going to have to set up a emulation station just for it so my friends cna have beers and play Animal kaiser when they visit!! Like I say, stay tuned for my new video this weekend (I also have a new video coming out in 2 hours time, but that's not animal kaiser related)

@@Nonagonorganic hi man ! Ohh no i meant the arcade machine itself still works fine like it was intented. But in my place all over the nation (Indonesia), no machine would give out cards as the prize at the end of playing since well the you know this game is discontinued, so not even the arcade center has the card stocks anymore. So the machines are still playable, can still scan the cards as intented. Maybe on the other side of the globe some arcades still give out cards, but in my place they never anymore so now the price for playing AK in my place is reduced from formerly 6 tokes to just 3. Tho it's neighbor game Hero of Robots still give out cards till now 🤔

Isnt Master Leo was the most Rarest now?, since Lion always make a comeback in animal kaiser franchise. Master Animal Have two best attack, so u can choose which one to be powered up. Mecha Eagle,shark,gorilla are sooo downgraded for whatever reason. But damn, Death Scorch Curse of the Nether is an instakill ability (still need luck tho)

I used to play this as a child here in Brazil, i have no idea how such obscure game came to Brazil.

@@PIXELPORTABLE I don't remember but i think it was in english, because i remember a older kid who knew english being able to translate the cards and the game to me.

funfact:you can play it via play emulator on pc!!

Apperantly there's a few in the UK. I've not seen any in Singapore, New Zealand, Samoa and Japan. Indonesia had one or two, Thailand seems to have a few still.
