This is, without a doubt, my favorite scene of the movie. It shows the depths of how far Steppenwolf will go to please his master, the discovery of the Anti-Life Equation, and his report. It really shows alot in Steppenwolf's character arc just how much he wanted to please Darkseid, even to his own demise.

I just realized that when he finds anti life, Steppenwolf let's out a mighty howl

And the fact that Steppenwolf is Darkseid's uncle. Makes this all the better.

Desaad is a schemer. He told Steppenwolf that he could have been sitting by the side of Darkseid if he hadn't messed up. So Desaad probably saw him as competition way back when. Because Steppenwolf is actually Darkseid's uncle. And then at the end of the movie, Desaad tells Darkseid "I told you Steppenwolf would fail." Steppenwolf appears to have been his direct competition.

First time I saw this brought me chills. Snyder's Cut is more awesome than the other one.

I have to admit that when I first saw this scene, I had no idea what the hell was going on. I remember the flashback of Darkseid finding that very symbol when he first came to Earth, but I didn't know what it meant. But when Steppenwolf explained it to DeSaad, which was also a great way of giving the audience some context into what the hell just happened, I finally understood why Earth was so important. It was the planet that held the Anti-Life Equation, the key to controlling all life in the multiverse. And that meant that Steppenwolf's mission to conquer Earth just went from being a simple matter of debt collection to a form of redemption. He just found the key to getting back home and back into Darkseid's good graces. What an amazing method of storytelling and character development. And seriously, Peter Guiness, Ciaran Hinds, and Ray Porter knock these performances out of the park. For once, there are actors who actually know what they're doing when they make villains actually sound menacing and threatening.

No, it's friggin stupid. If Darkseid already found the anti life equation thousands of years ago, what happened? Did he forget that it's on earth? Why did he need Steppenwolf to tell him where it was?

@@Wolfman7870 Maybe you weren’t paying attention, but when Darkseid found the Anti-Life Equation when he first arrived on Earth, he was met by a battalion of Atlanteans, Amazons, and Humans, not to mention the Old Gods and a Green Lantern. And Darkseid was almost killed, and therefore had to retreat from conquering Earth and getting the Equation. Unfortunately, as Snyder explained, when Darkseid returned to Apokalipse, Steppenwolf led an insurrection against Darkseid to try and take the throne from him. Which means afterwords Darkseid had to reclaim control, heal, and regain control of the universe, something that took somewhere in the neighborhood of about 5000 years or longer. And in that time, the Motherboxes went to sleep, and were scattered across Earth, making it impossible for anyone on Apokalipse to sense them, and therefore impossible to know exactly where they were. See, in their minds, Earth was just another world to conquer, nothing special, and with the threat of losing everything he built, do you really think Darkseid is just going to give up everything just to try and remember one measly planet in the vast cosmos of space? Besides, Steppenwolf was lucky that the Motherboxes recorded the information of the Equation on Earth. It’s how they were able to tell him that Earth was the lost world that fought against Darkseid.

Two things: It's a Webtoon, GoH does not have a manga. At best you could call it a Manhwa. And that's the Greek symbol of Omega, it does not come from God of Highschool. Glad to see some GoH appreciation though

I remember people saying "How come Darkseid forgot that Anti-life was on the Earth and how did he forget its location?". Actually, Wonder Woman did explain this. She said, "As Darkseid waged war on Earth, he found a secret there. A power hidden in the infinity of space." She only read what the Earthlings wrote on the walls. It did not mention what the secret was. They only said Darkseid found something but he did not know it was the Anti-life Equation or not. And he didn't forget Earth's location. He just couldn't be bothered to come back because after his defeat, he thought the secret wasn't the Anti-life Equation so he left.

@@Dhoomh Yeh from Steppenwolf's perspective "he found it on a primitive planet" 'the secret!' that's what's implied, Darkseid didn't know that 'secret' was the anti life equation he came to conquer not find the anti life equation and if he did why would Diana (in her narration of the history lesson) call it a secret? Think! The explanation is in the dialogue if one really pays attention. As for Darkseid forgetting about the earth lol, he didn't he couldn't get back to it because the motherboxes (which create portals) were lost on earth after the armada's retreat and went quiet after the unity broke. Remember the motherboxes create portals from locations so in the history lesson (as we see in the rest of movie with Steppenwolf getting to earth or moving about through the portals) one should imagine the armada were only sufficiently, (key word 'sufficiently') able to conquer worlds in the multiverse through the motherboxes as they are made from "a science so advanced" (creating portals to locations) remember what Diana said in the narration it's key. Now could it of been explained better? Yeh it could have.

I don't understand this. Steppenwolf explains Darkseid had found the equation but was pushed back. I hear ppl explain that Darkseid lost track of planet earth's location at some point and partly due to Steppenwolf betraying him. Now Steppenwolf is seeking redemption and is looking for motherboxes but once he found one of them, shouldn't it be obvious that anti-life was also here, the very place they lost the motherboxes

My logic is that they might have hidden motherboxes throughout the multiverse in preparation of their conquest, since they don't say that it would be odd for them to find three motherboxes on a planet all of a sudden. The omega symbol means the end, so there for it also interpret as the end of all life. Another also since we don't actually know what the anti-life equation look like (aside from numbers and words) in the comics unlike the infinity stones.

What darkseid's symbol is doing in the antilife equation? is it just because darkseid and steppenwolf "marked" the ground with the omega (to "claim" the world they invade as their own) symbol and it made appear the anti life equation by pure hasard (making the omega symbol not realated to the antilife equation) or is the omega symbol part of the anti life equation in this case (wich would be pretty coincidential since Darkseid doesnt know the equation and would have choose the ONLY symbol recognizable in the antilife equation by pure hasard).
