Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2016/17 - Sexercise

The debut collection of Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood is titled “Sexercise”, symbolising the journey Andreas went through creating this collection. Initially inspired by Vivienne’s friend Sharon Lishman - a Buddhist nun, he fused the spirituality of all world religion to add a transcendent touch to his work.
The collection silhouettes were also inspired by the costume collection book KOLNER PATRIZIER - UND BURGERKLEIDUNG DES 17. JAHRHUNDERTS demonstrating glorious noble garments and luxurious embroidered patterns of the 17th century.
Merging these two inspirations together a marriage of east and west has become a featured component of this collection.
