Sandile is a very sensible man with a great deal of intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge. I would honestly cast my vote for a man like this in SA.

The DA is seen as a remnant of apartheid vying for a soft return, this pits it against a corrupt but still seen as capable of beating back apartheid ANC. It then becomes an issue of which would be worse, and we still think apartheid is worse. Even a softer iteration of it in the form of "non racialism".

I'm sure millions of jobs will be reinstated as the ANC Organisation destroyed all the soe's and people will have more dignity in having a job than sit and wait for hand-outs. Street sweepers can return and proper departments in government which we have not had since 1994 and perhaps then the trillions of gold bars that vanished from the reserve bank under the ANC can be traced and the funds can get back to SA which could be in Dubai 🤔

The issue of social grants is not the only deterrent. Racism is another issue keeping black people (many of which are social grant recipients) from voting for the official opposition i.e the DA.

I fully agree with Mr Swana. Anyone that thinks that EFF will protect the shenanigans of Mashatile needs to think again. Mashatile is a weaker opponent compared to Ramaphosa for the EFF. They would love for Mashatile to be the president of the ANC bcz he'll be very easy to defeat just like Zuma was. Ramaphosa on the other hand is a tougher opponent financially so standing against is troublesome.

To a large degree I think Sandile puts the geopolitical argument well as it pertains to Russia and Ukrain. Much of the propaganda has been aimed at focusing on "people are dying in Ukrain", but very few actually delve into the remnants of Cold War issues between America/ Nato and Russia. It is not that simple and we cannot simply make it an issue of "Russia invaded Ukraine". Yes, at face value you can argue that Russia invaded, but without the background of the Cold War you could easily be manipulated into painting Russia as the villian of the story without taking into account that the US and Nato are actually putting pressure on Russia's borders in contravention of post-Cold War treaties. Geopolitics is complex and cannot simply be approached from an emotional perspective. Yes, no human being can be happy with the loss of life anywhere but this kind of propaganda and emotional manipulation that the US has always engaged in must also be brought into question.

Both - but theft + corruption are the winners. Billions of international loans, u + me have to pay back - not the politician's, disappeared - eskom, railways, hosps, schools etc did not get fixed. So we not only have to pay back the loans, we also have to pay for the fixing of eskom (higher tariffs), get trains back on tracks, replace pit school toilets with something better.

The current dismal state of the nation was caused by the spear of the nation !

I think your guest fundamentally misunderstands the transition of US foreign relations from the Cold War to today, and what that means for the foreign relations between "non-western" states. Although it is an extremely complicated subject it has some implications that are important in the relationship between the US, China, and Russia. The most important of which is that the US saw the conflict with the USSR as an existential peer conflict where global influence was not just important, but imperative. Both the US and the USSR invested heavily in third parties in an effort to spread their influence and ideology, and they did so without much interest in the returns on that investment. Importantly, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the US citizenry are much more relaxed about foreign policy or, to be more accurate, much less interested. This is important because that lack of interest coincides with a decrease in awareness - you would be hard pressed to find an American that knew what BRICS was, for example. I will spare you how US politics plays into the next part, but suffice to say the net effect that matters for South Africa is that the US is unlikely to react in any real way to South Africa helping Russia right now. _However,_ the impression that "South Africa supports Russia" will likely play a large role in how likely to aid South Africa in the future. Which, once upon a time, might not have mattered very much because everyone thought South Africa was set to become pretty great. What it means today is that it isn't so much that South Africa wants to go to China for help with its current problems, as it is that China is the only option. How someone feels about that is up to them. Personally, I feel getting indebted to China as India is rising is a foolish move. I don't think BRICS will survive the clash that is coming between those two and I think India is going to win that clash, hands down. But that is just my opinion, and this topic is complex enough that I feel like I would need to write several essays to get across my actual thoughts on why I think this way. Your mileage may vary.

Unfortunately most of us who supports the ANC are not interested in tenders or anything to do with gain. The guest as black as he is, knows exactly that Vempires are looking for any sort of weekeness of the ruling party and steer our beatiful country into their favour. He seem to forget that during inoguration the first democratic President said "( Never and never again this beautiful country shall be...................by one over another )" It is a fact that in all proper democracies wether in Europe or elsewhere realighment will always be there. Remember the EFF drinking tea at Nkandla - KZN is zooma + Mashitele country. There may be transactions between EFF + Mashitele we knows nothing about.
