The analytics of the Yellow Submarine
I did my best to figure out the size and propulsion of the famous "Yellow Submarine," the vehicle that carried the Beatles to Pepperland. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS FACT. I am an idiot with a computer and attempted to the best I could in creatively determining things, and math isn't my strong suit.

I’ve made a mistake! Beam means width, I meant to say it’s height is 41 feet. Thanks!

@MrSaturn 666 I’m taking suggestions! Currently I have an idea for the Queen Mary, USS Constitution, and maybe even the K-class of submarines

You forgot to mention the Yellow Sub's TARDIS-like abilities. Its interior was clearly larger than the exterior and where did it keep the stuff like the giant cigar, lighter, and U.S. 7th Cavalry?
I just want a sub with it's own cavalry detachment.

And clearly they have to be called The 1st Seahorse Division.
the propellers turn at the rate of a record and it goes twice the speed of sound nice
In space? Given the weird lands the Yellow Submarine traveled through, like the Sea of Time, Sea of Monsters, Sea of Nothing, the Foothills of the Headlands, and the Sea of Holes to get to Pepperland, it's quite obvious it made its way through multiple dimensions, not outer space.
Amazing Trying to make sense of an acid trip. Gotta hand it to ya... You made my birthday full of laughs. Thanks!!

Well happy birthday to you, listen to the Beatles song while you’re at it!
PS - at 1:150 scale, the windows (plastic model proportions) would be almost 4' in diameter. In 1:72, the windows would be 1'-10.5". I'm contemplating a diorama of a research submersible (based on 1:72 kit of Research Submersible Shinkai 6500) discovering a long-since sunken Yellow Submarine, and have been struggling to pick a scale to depict. To match submersible as is, I'd use 1:72. To aim for 1:150, that submersible then equates to an unusually long 66' and beam of 19'.
i had no idea it was even a movie, thanks for the lesson

Excellent analysis
Now if you can only figure out how the Blue Meanies got to Pepperland... Goo goo goo joob.
Dude! It is "Cavalry" and NOT "Calvary" which is a place in Israel. Very interesting take on the video. Best of luck!

Sorry, weirdly enough I recorded this after mass on a Sunday so that’s actually pretty funny
This might be the most specifically catered to my interests thing I've ever seen on the internet and I'm mildly concerned
Unless it's different for subs than surface vessels, beam is width, not height.
A plastic model kit of the Yellow Submarine measures L = 9.25", Beam (W) = 3.25", H = 3" (ignoring periscopes and railing). Compared to your estimates, that works out to about 1:157 scale. If scaled by the screen shot of the people entering the sub, it comes closer to 1:72 scale, which means L= 55.5', W=19.5', H=18'.

I got 108' based on a scene with the Beatles peering from the portholes. The portholes are about 2' in diameter. With my Tod McFarlane model being 6.75" long, the portholes inside diameter being 1/8th". With a width just shy of 3" the Yellow Submarine has a beam of 45'.

@@nowhereman1046 I had to look up "Tod McFarlane model." I did not know of that toy before and it is different than the AMT plastic model kit that I was referring to. Thanks for that info.

@@marcmillis8461 No problem. The McFarlane model seems closest in terms of accuracy when you look at scenes like Fred and the Beatles entering the sub in Liverpool and one of the few front profile views of it. Oh and when the ship breaks down in Nowhereland, one of the few scenes of it in rotating around giving great isometric views.

@@nowhereman1046 The AMT kit has accuracy problems (e.g. 1 prop instead of 2), even allowing for the frame-to-frame variations in the animation. My interest is contemplating a dark humor diorama of the Yellow Sub, long since sunk at the bottom of the sea, being found by an exploration submersible. I found a great 1:72 kit of a submersible, but a 1:144 would probably work better. So long as the relative scale looks plausible, I'd be satisfied.
Maybe the Yellow Submarine is really a TARDIS and it's just supposed to be bigger on the inside than the outside?
An excellent video! However, boatswain is pronounced boatsun. Drachinifel spent a few minutes describing what it meant (boy in servitude) in one of his drydocks.

Knowing that you’re a Ringo fan (with Starrs in your eyes?) I just knew you had done a video on the Yellow Submarine. And here it is in my suggested feed. So with your deep dive (sorry) on the statistics of the Yellow Submarine, I can finally get started on my long-delayed replica. How is this video like a record? They’re both groovy You were on spins and needles awaiting on the answer (The answer’s at the end) (I’m a George fan)
Little known was how John Lennon soured on "Major" Paul McCartney's Pepperland campaign ("Beatles to Battle!") and thus became a conscientious objector. 'Twas the beginning of the end.
Well, you certainly got a lot more out of that stupid cartoon than I did when it came out. I don't waste my time looking for a meaning in it anymore. Great video!
Hellz ya
