On this weeks Video
We have a 1999 AMG E55 W210 model a car that is really special in the fact that it was the last car ever to produced by AMG in there own factory before they moved in the Mercedes...The E55 has a 5.4L na V8 is rear wheel drive and will go like a rocket when needed! but this cars true calling is in the luxury cruising field.. the car feels so soft and luxurious but at the same time responsive enough to know this car still means business!

it really is a good looking car and honestly drives a step up over all the modern crap now.. this car is the closest thing to the Bentley i have reviewed! and that says a lot considering how cheap these are now

5:23 Its because in Germany there are many areas where you're only allowed to drive 60 or 30 kilometers per hour, so with those yellow/orange fields you're always gonna have it in the eye a little bit more.

If you dont know, dont answer and lie! Its because the car doesnt really have a economical gear for those given speeds. It is for you to try to not be in this speed. Google it 👍

I think at those points you would be at the red level limits of your rpm at the lowest gear possible. In other words, the gearbix will shift up at those points when at full throttle.

The W210 E55 was one of the most modern cars at the time. It had a built-in cell phone with voice controls. The only crap thing about it was the water based paint the factory used, which quickly rusted several sections of the body.

Great review. Thank you! My 2000 W210 E55 has 240k miles and drives and runs great. The M113 motor and tranny are a great match. Replace the conductor plate on the trans as preventative maintenance if you haven't already. Also really easy to work on. Oil changes with a Topsider are cake. Changing the serpentine belt and idler pulley is less than a 30 min job with the right tools. Shares a lot of parts as the other W210 E class of the era. Driving around town is quiet, comfy and inconspicuous. Open the throttle and you are in for a treat!

Nice coverage, I own a w210 1997 e230. A car and half. Imported from London to Nairobi Kenya in 2006 and I bought it in 2013 meaning I have had it for 9 years. In kenya 🇰🇪 you rarely find amgs and there's a rule that you can't import a car that's more than 8 years old. It's such a disservice since I won't be able to own a w210 amg in the streets of Nairobi. W210s are timeless beautiful cars that are reliable and cheap to maintain.

You skipped allot of things that really make it AMG and ahead of it's time --like you skipped all the most important stuff. Edit: amazing camera angles, lighting, and camera work though! You really did compliment the car with those. And the engine rev... Yeah, despite missing all the reasons an actual enthusiast would buy this car, and what actually would make this into a classic, this still might be one of my favorite w210, or even AMG videos for that matter, just because of how good you guys did making this car look good for being on video and not in person

@@RossReviewsau okay, just off the top of my head: The trim (side skirts and bumper) are different than any other w210). The car is amazing with electronics for that year. Just look at everything it has. Heated seats, headlight washers, the seats, headrests and steering wheel are fully electrically adjustable. Automatic windows that roll down without you having to hold down the button. Heating and AC in the back seats (just expand on how it's a 1999 with that) there are so many things this car has that most 2015 cars don't even have. Heck some 2020 cars don't have it. Okay, you mentioned the doors and how they look, but how could you not mention the fact that it's a freaking 90's car with airbags surrounding you? Door airbags? Some cars didn't even get that until 2004! Mercedes was of the upmost quality with car crash safety. They practically invented the airbag. The A & C pillars are reenforced for roll over, and some cars even today don't even do that. (But that might just be Mercedes stuff that's not AMG specific, but come on! This is why this car is gonna be a classic). It's a 1999 with traction control, and cruise control. This is the kinda stuff that make it a Mercedes-Benz which stands above all the other brands --like 6 disk CD changer. Theres a huge fan base for the engine in that car, because it has so much potential due to build quality and newer upgrades put into newer versions of the engine. You can tune that thing to have over 1k hp, and it has been done. The transmission is in so many Daimler Chrysler cars, and built for durability, so people like that. A rebuild on that transmission could probably handle over 700-800 torque. Here's a HUGE kicker: the last AMG to come out of the AMG factory was a modded 300 Mercedes (the one in this video). In a time (1999-2000) where everyone was staying away from classic car looks (I'm taking about the 4 round headlights and the shape of the front (bonnet [hood]) etcetera). Other manufacturers were trying to go for a modern new look. Mercedes-Benz decided to go with the 4 round headlights and body to eccentuate those front lights. This really makes the car stand out for that time line. Some say it's because Mercedes-Benz and AMG knew that 1999 was a special year, because AMG was no longer to be independent. Therefore, the 300 Mercedes-Benz of that year was designed just for AMG to work on in memory of the first AMG race car. The first AMG race car was a 300 with front fairings and a hood to eccentuate those round headlights. So, the last car to come out of the independent AMG factory was a newer version (a commemorative tribute remake if you will) of the first AMG ever made. You said that car was the end of an era, and your right in a sense. However, it's also the beginning of a new era. If you look at every Mercedes built after this generation of car, you'll see that they all keep this kind of look. If would nice of you if you could respond to let me know if you read this message.
