I remember the episode when Mike and Frank found that at the Museum. It is awesome that the guy sent you that trophy, it is back where it belongs with the belly racer.
That thing is f?$king awesome! Whoever built it did a pro job
I remember watching Mike and Frank find this. Always wondered where it landed. Couldn't be in a better spot. Awesome stuff , guys.👍

It is so spectacular that all the documentation came together to be preserved. Remember the show when Mike and Frank found this. Also remember the look on your fathers face when they first showed it to him. Priceless. 😂 Glad you guys at Wheels through Time have this one of a kind vehicle. Excellent vids here. Info is clear and easy to follow.
I was there and saw this car and absolutely fell in love with it .thanks for all y'all do truly remarkable
Ever since I was a young man, I have wanted to build a car like this. I still do. My plan was to use a Honda Goldwing engine. I'm too old and poor to do it now. But even dreams can be wonderful.

I have/had the same dream. I wanted to use two 200hp engines originally, now I suppose it would be two 250hp bike engines in a chassis that all weighs 1200lbs ish, but I have a motorcycle and times are hard, maybe someday

Check the auction areas for a wrecked bike. You can probably find one for fairly cheap if you go to a region where salvage bikes are not allowed on the road. Maybe a few hundred dollars, if you are lucky. Film everything and post it on KZread, you may actually make money doing it
Once again, awesome episode. When I seen this on the pickers show I went nuts. A few years back went way outta our way to see this. Fell in love with Maggie Valley. We stayed at the cabins across the street. Hopefully will be back soon. Keep the episodes coming.
Its crazy to watch all these videos. i have realized a love for these style motorcycles thank you for taking the time to show everyone
I remember seeing that car in the Murdo museum years ago. Dave the owner is a great guy, he gave me a personal tour all through the place. He showed me the items he thought I would enjoy ( I was on my motorcycle) including a motorcycle that Elvis owned. That belly tanker is super cool!!! Ocala Fl.

Yessir saw this vehicle several times in Murdo
This was a hyabusa on a shifterkart back in it's day
Nothing better than the sound of an Indian 4
It's simply impossible not to immediately love the Belly Tank Race Car on first sight! It just looks so 'Right' and an absolute hoot to drive, let alone race.
Wonderful... We need more of this functional yet simple design today... Just love it. Less is more. Simon a Brit in Spain 👍😅
Well done Matt. This is my favorite of all the shows. I am so impressed with your encyclopedic knowledge of early motorcycles.
Amazing. The photo and trophy make it priceless.
I watched when Frank and his partner found and purchased the car. You could tell it was special. 🇭🇲🐨🦘🇭🇲
Very much like a Cooper 500 just more motor 👍 what a neat machine
Dude its soo cool you doing this Drive for History, like youre Dad used to!! I know he looking down smiling man!! Could see that same smile on your face running it!!! Absolutely Awesome!!
What a little sweetie !!!!!......glad it's home is with you!!
I first saw this car in 1972 in Murdo. My father and I were fascinated by how it was put together.
It's one thing to preserve an old car/bike, its a whole different thing to keep it in running driving condition, awesome work.
A really great place to visit. Plan on 2 days and an empty memory card for pictures! I enjoyed this museum & planning to return!

Went there in August myself just to find them closed due to COVID .. Maybe next year
I just saw Mr Dale buying the belly tank, im not surprised that you Mr Dale could make it run, you're a natural born motorcycle guy, a genius when it comes motorbikes and engines, keep up the good work Mr Dale
It is so great to see you taking care of that car and sorry about the arms being broken on the trophy I did that when I was 2 or 3 and even swallowed one of them. BTW my dad always went by Bob.

OMG! I knew that engine the second you pulled the cover off. This has to be 1 of the most spectacular machines on youtube! Love it
Thank you sir for yet another great video. That car does look like it would be a blast to drive. Glad it ended up under your watchful eye and is being very well taken care of. Much respect to your knowledge and enthusiasm for all of those great old machines. Take care.
Just seen this episode on pickers again today, what a choice vehicle, glad you own it and can show it to the world... cheers, bazz from adelaide australia ...

You have the best show on the planet Earth.

Thanks Matt for what you do enjoyed. Hope to visit the museum some day✌
My son got me and his mum a ride around Vienna in a version of this car ,in and out of traffic ,it was such fun and so dangerous ,I believe it’s been stopped now due no doupt to eu ruling on health and safety, people were filming us and just looked incredulously at us and we just laughed going in and out of traffic so low to the ground, such fun

Super cool
Nice piece of history 👌 Thanks for sharing.
Max I really admire you how you explain and tell us ..all the information abuot harley's ..thanks my friend!!

Damn it started on the second pull! Impressive
What a great machine, a one of a kind.
Love your videos. I hope to visit the museum when it is open soon . Best to you and your Dad.
Love to see the original owner and the car together one last time.
Awesome....Thanks
Loved the onboard views !! Awesome video
One of the coolest rigs in existence, don't think I'd fit but damn I'd love to drive it....🇺🇸✌🏻
I remember that from pickers, was a cool find
Love this one. 👍👍
Old fashion big boys go cart 😂 too cool!
I remember seeing this as a kid in a roadside car museum on I-80 on the way to Wyoming. It was actually sitting on gravel.
I remember a film with Mickey Rooney, mebbe 1949? The film was Mick as a race driver, his car looked a bit like yours.
Sweet👍Just to bad we didn't get to see it go down the road.
Looks like a modified 500 Formula/Formula 3 car from the 50s. Belly/drop tanks were much easier to get and use than working a sheet of aluminium.
That looks like a lot of fun
Totally cool.
Very cool . Good work
You should describe it as a Formula III racecar as that is what it looks like they were trying to do. It resembles a Cooper in almost all respects. I wonder if it ever raced as a FIII?
Amazing place not a bike guy but very impressed glad I went
That is so cool... love it!
Man i can listen to you talk about this stuff all day also so nice to see things after they brought it but they really should show or have a separate show of them selling things
WOW AWESOME VEHICLE....👍👍🇺🇸
Just found your channel your great to listen too with aww toys
Awesome!!! Kool as all can get right there, wow...great video edit..✌
See the Go-Pro... safe to say I wasn't disappointed.
Wow what an incredible video so informative. Car is the coolest thing
I was just over at deals gap. I wish I would have known yall where so close. Need to advertise more around the gap. Will be back in September. Definitely want to check your museum out
Man, that looks like fun to get down the road in.
What a treat!
Glad your keeping it in Found Condition. Much more interesting then Restoring it back to Bettet then New .
Goes great love to see it full bore.
Was at the Murdo museum, after this car was gone. Great place. Now would like to go to your museum. Would also like to build my own belly tank car, except as a tadpole style trike.
Just like the Cooper 500s that were built from '46 to '60, but with Vee twin 500cc ( 40ci ) engines over here in the UK. If you want to see them racing, checkout the Goodwood channel on YT, revival meetings, they have some big fields of them. Great racing. Great car with an Indian engine.

Exactly my thoughts. Whether or not the builder got their inspiration from the likes of Cooper, Kieft etc not sure, but the car looks a bit like a scaled up version; bigger engine, heavier car, plus mudguards and headlights. Nowhere near as sophisticated as the British equivalents, but a wonderful example of ingenuity in construction.

@@adriancole3165 True Adrian. Just who was first will probably take some sorting out, just like the light bulb, ha, ha.
IT'S IN A GOOD HOME 👍👍
That thing looks fun as hell! LOL!
If you travel around the Philippines particularly Bay Bay Leyte you can see WWII drop tanks to this day being used as water tanks above older homes.
This stuff is so awesome. How are there only 23k subscribers?
Awesome
Too good!
I'd would LOVE to take that 4 a spin!!!!!!!!!
100 mph in that would be ….thrilling
cool to see a newer channel pop up. seems the channels old but this format YT seems to be liking of you.
Great little car. Wear it. It's always in Style....
Well isn't that machine just incredible.
Nice motor
DOES IT GO IN REVERSE? LOL . That is a sweet ride. Its like a torpedo matted with a VW Beatle.
My dream car
Now think about something like this with a WRX engine and transaxle and two seats one behind the other.
Nice interpretation of a Cooper 500.
Genial ver este vehículo funcionando . Pude verlo en el programa cuando apareció y años después aquí está. Suena terriblemente poderoso para su tamaño. Un auto verdaderamente genial ¡¡¡¡¡
I watched the American pickers episode a few years back. I nice to se what's been done to it.
Ive been waiting on this for awhile.
I have seen a couple of belly tank racers rusting away in Oregon growing up. They belonged to my uncles neighbor that built them himself. A lot of shadetree mechanics made cars cars out of whatever
Cool
You should check out a one off race car from Canada. The "Dreossi Special ". Still running a vintage race events. Same principle, drop tank used as chassis, mid engines , single seat. Built in the 50's I believe.
My grand father built a simmler car in the early 60s...it was destroyed when a tornado hit Dallas when I was a kid .
