The Amazingly Colorful Toucans of Mindo Ecuador!
This is Part 2 of our visit to the Cloud Forest of Mindo Ecuador, and it was even more AMAZING than the first!
In our last video ( • HAPPIEST PLACE IN ECUA... ) we showed you a FLOCK of hummingbirds, but in this video, you'll see birds at the opposite end of the size spectrum, but just as colorful!
Plus, we'll take you along on a hike through the jungle that looked like it was straight out of Romancing the Stone!
We're happy to introduce you to Anderson and Rolando, who took us to Las Cotingas Reserve in this video. They offer an amazing bird watching tour in Mindo, Ecuador that's accessible to all ages.
Plus, Rolando also operates San Tadeo Birding, which is where we filmed the hummingbirds in our first video from Mindo: • HAPPIEST PLACE IN ECUA...

"Romancing the Stone." lol 😆 Love it! ❤️
You really like walking! I love knowing Ecuador with you... I'm from Ecuador... but end up in USA. My kids are Americans so... I'm stuck in Midwest. Hate the cold... and the heat. Summers now are 100F. No beaches. I miss the beaches.
My wife’s mother had knee replacement surgery in July and we came to help take care of her during her recovery. We were able to do a two day one night excursion to Mindo! We went to the waterfalls, but we had our youngest son(2 1/2years) so we went to the left trail as it was a shorter trek to get to a waterfall
That's what I call beauty. Amazing place.
Wow. So many colorful birds. A definite place to visit but be prepared for the mud. I would like to see the hummingbirds too. Hope to see this when I finally get to visit. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Oh, what a place you just visited 😊 Everything I've seen from Mindo is absolutely stunning and, all these wonderful birds..just wow to everything there - also in Mindo as all other places in Ecuador are. Thanks so much for sharing 🤗

I am falling more and more in love with Ecuador! I am77 though, with two artificial knees and a new hip. Not sure if I am up to that hike. Sigh, In the past I wouldn't have thought twice. Haha, o'dark thirty! Amazing colors on all of those birds. Did they supply the binoculars?
The blue ones are my favorite 😍

Those birds were wonderful!
I arrived in Mindo this afternoon. It’s the first place that I have ever visited where I feel that I was in the film 🎥 Jurassic Park, minus the angry T-Rex 🦖 😊 The town is so tranquil and tiny.

Just come back from Mindo, and went birding with Andersson. He was one of the best drivers I experienced in Ecuador, but he needs to hone his birding skills. He misidentified several species which (fortunately I try to photograph as many as possible) which I correctly identified using those photos and my bird book. Sad that I knew more about some of the birds than a local. Anyway, I love your videos and saw a lot of them before my Ecuador trip, which helped me know what to expect. I will be back and will hopefully bird Quayaquil and more of the Amazon basin. Amazing birds!
10 out of 10🏆 JP, the camera, editing and storyline is stellar! Very impressive. Amelia..you're a star🥇

Mindo is great for the amount of things to see and do. I had the chance to zip-line for the first time ever and loved it. Great video of the Touccans. We had a Touccan in our papaya tree around 10:30 in the morning about a month ago which is a rarety. We are west of Mindo and love the variety of birds and lizards.

The only thing more beautiful than those birds is Amelia!! Great video guys!!
Wow, cool
Amelia and JP, this has to be the best video on Ecuador, and you have had many. Why not ask Metropolitan Touring of Ecuador to sponsor you on a 4 day tour of their Mashpi Lodge in the Mindo region. You will probably have to make a two or three part series to include all the niceties of the lodge and dining experience not to mention all the day and night activities of the lodge. It is a slice of heaven! If that works well, you can ask Metropolitan Touring for a promotional trip on M/V Santa Cruise II of the Galápagos Islands.

We do have amazing waterfalls. If you're in Patate (province of Tungurahua) I would definitely go to Cascada Mundug. Or If you're on the road from Baños to Puyo you can go to Cascada Kilo which is right before arriving in Mera. That one has a very short trekk of maybe 10 minutes.
You guys never fail to deliver great content

Thanks for another superb video showing off Ecuador's amazing pájaros. I work for Audubon's Seabird Institute in the Northeast (though am only a mediocre birder) and have hoped to see toucans with my wife in Ecuador for a long time. On prior attempts near Cuenca, heard them but never saw one. This inspires us to keep searching and, eventually, to make the trip to Minda too. Please keep making videos of Ecuador's natural beauty. They will be timeless.

I didn’t need it but you reminded me why I love you and your videos. This was awesome!! I think I saw a cock of the rock on the sign for the property? That is my favorite bird. Thank you again for taking me along on this beautiful adventure!🦋🌺💕

Very cool. Why didn't you have a driver to get back. Especially since it was raining. You had to have been cold by the time you got back. I hope you don't get sick. But you both look so healthy so I doubt it. Happy adventures to you.
