You left out a couple of deleted scenes (like the extended training scene) but otherwise this is a very solid video! I'd like to add that the connors recording was apart of a viral marketing campaign which means this scene may or may not be apart of the film

I just realized they used the dialogue of Connor telling peter “We must be greater than what we suffer” in Gwen’s speech in the next movie!

So many of the deleted scenes would’ve helped this film especially Dr. Connors’ character. In a time when people didn’t mind longer extended versions of films (Snyder Cut) I’m shocked that Sony didn’t jump on the bandwagon and release a director’s cut of the film.

Sadly it probably doesn’t exist, along with a directors cut of TASM 2. I’m sure there was plenty of script changes and such that made the movies completely different. Also it’s been way to long at this point, Sony definitely wants to forget these movies even if fans like Andrew Garfield

That lizard vs spiderman fight scene throughout the day wouldve been legendary!

I know Tobey is the OG, but Andrew's first film was truly something special, the POV shots were a technical masterpiece, and even though quite a bit of it is CGI, the in camera bits are exceptionally good.

Man I've been telling people about these deleted scenes for 12 years now! Im so passionate about this I'm so happy you actually made this video! such a shame such good material was cut out and left on the cutting board. These could've elevated the film so much, look i love tasm1 and have been defending it since its release but maaaaan just looking at all the things that were deleted from it kinda makes me hate the film we ended up getting. i wouldn't mind a 3 hour tasm1 film. You know what's the worst part of this? These aren't even all the deleted scenes, there's still so much footage of billy and martha connors somewhere in some vault at sony.

Haha, that's true. I laughed quite a bit when I saw that there was actually a scene with the doorman. I wasn't expecting that.

The fact that this movie has more deleted scenes than 1 and 2 combined is crazy. This movie and 3 both got screwed a bunch by how many deleted scenes there were.

Hypothetically speaking, would everyone here be interested in a reimagined editing of this movie, one that respects Webbs vision and the writers? Not changing the major story beats, but we have a lot of left out scenes that could be arranged for a more "completed" story

Supposedly, there's an alternate cut of this movie that gets more into Peter's parents and how Peter was destined to become Spider-Man, hence the "Untold Story" tagline in the marketing. Had they left that in this movie, they wouldn't have had to cram it into TASM 2.

The Amazing Spider-Man takes place in New York City, at 10:40, you can briefly see a palm tree in the background, no wonder they cut this scene.

this movie definitely needed more action and less talking. they had even MORE dialogues and i’m glad they had good sense to cut it out and also the suit in previz is much better design than whatever we got in the final movie

The movie was originally conceived as a less action oriented and more character driven story, similar to Superman Returns. The original budget was reportedly $80 million, but given a boost later into production to add more action sequences.

I totally get the point that too much content wouldve made the fil super ling, but personally i wouldnt mind it at all! Ever since i first saw this movie when i was 7 i instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of this verse, and id love to see an extended cut someday whether official or not. They really did leave out a lot 😢

I might take it into my own hands to edit together an extended/alternate cut because honestly this movie deserves it. Sony cut it apart and reshot things to for some reason make it worse. TASM had so much potential.

Aside from the discarded spiderman suits, I think everything that was conceptualized or cut would have actually made the final product better, both in this movie and it's sequel

An official extended version has not been released. There are versions made by fans who try to return much of the deleted material to the film, but they certainly do not have all the deleted scenes, since they have not all been released by Sony.

For me, Marc Webb made some bad editing choices. Peter doesn't become Spider-Man until where an hour plus into the film. The whole skateboard and swinging on chains montage weren't needed. They took away Lizard's story arch smh
