11:07 Zgougou is Aleppo pine seeds. The desert is constituted of Zgougou pudding (dark part) topped with vanilla pastry cream (light part) and then decorated with a variety of colorful nuts and candies. The silver candy is eatable and is traditionally used to specially decorate the Zgougou pudding. That’s the signature mark! Unlike pine nuts, Aleppo pine seeds are black which give the characteristic dark color to the Zgougou pudding. It’s a dessert that you only see in Tunisia and not elsewhere. Enjoy!!!! 🍮 🍨 🎉❤
I really appreciate the way you deal with locals. You are very friendly, humble, and respectful. Very nice video concept that makes your trip very close to reality . Welcome to my country🇹🇳

Habib Bourguiba was born on August 3, 1903, in Monastir, Tunisia. Following independence, Bourguiba became the Prime Minister and then the first President of Tunisia. He served as Tunisia's President from 1957 to 1987. Habib Bourguiba spent his later years in relative seclusion and passed away on April 6, 2000, in Monastir, Tunisia

Chris, you are a really wonderful young man and considerate of everyone's feelings, so although you did not understand most of the taxi driver's words, you enjoyed his words and reacted warmly to him, although he tried hard to convey the information. He's really a good man . Well, waiting for the next episode of your adventure in Sousse, I hope you have a good time❤❤. The train it certainly does not seem First Class at all, there are other trains that are better and more comfortable. Don't be upset, just adapt to the situation, some adventure doesn't hurt, does it😜😜

Tunisians are like that because of our history and geographical location, it used to be a center of the ancient world and a hub for many civilizations. That makes hospitality implanted in Tunisians. Moreover It’s also your attitude that goes along way man. I live in Germany now but Tunisia‘s beauty and even scent and air is no where to be found on earth.

We tunesian are so great because the religious faith we have our religion teaches us everything. To be the best. ✌🏼😎☝🏼
Let me give you an advice, never ask a taxi how much. Just jump to the taxi, tell him that you are want to go to certain place and ask him to turn on the meter. Because when you ask a taxi driver how much - especially in big cities in Tunisia - he will make your trip very expensive ^_^
What a sweet guy! He made a great tour guide!

However, he said that at Mould Tunisian people go to Kairouan ,where are the the oldest and largest mosque Uqba Ibn Nafi, to celebrate. And he told you about the first president of Tunisia called Habib Bourguiba is original from Monastir. As for the independence of Tunisia it was in 1956. And welcome to Tunisia 🇹🇳

Always a pleasure watching your videos Chris! You get along with the people of my beloved country , as if you're one of them!
Mouled IS celebrated in almost all Muslim countries but the Assida is a purely Tunisian thing. Assidet Zgougou is made out of a cream made with pine seeds topped with that white cream and it's decorated with all kinds of nuts (both whole and powdered.): pistachios, wallnuts, pine nuts, almonds.. every person decorates differently .. In my family for example we split the top in 4 equal parts using pine nuts. We then fill each part with a kind of powdered nut and then top it with the corresponding whole nut.
I love your videos! Im binging them❤ love your mindset and how respectful you are
Coming from Tunis, you missed Sousse's train station, which is actually not far from the statue of Tunisia's first president on the horse.

40:43 So funny you didn’t understand anything 😅. He is telling about the ex president Bourguiba that lived in Monastir city. And how everybody loves him. He said it’s a “souvenir”spot to visit. You were : Ahhh you worked there for 7 years! 😅. He actually stopped talking about himself a while ago and he’s just showing you around. Such a nice guy. Usually people like him think that everybody understands French they just don’t know that English took over French.

Welcome to my city Sousse ❤️😌
Oh wow ! You dropped off in my town's ( Kalaa Seghira) Train station in Sousse I was surprised to see it haha. Quick tip. When you drop off there you find yellow cars called louages ( bigger than taxis) and it costs 0.850dt to take you to Sousse Medina!

Welcome to Tunisia
the taxi driver is so nice! he was basically saying that he was goign to give you a tour in sousse from his part which means its for free and you dont need to pay for it. then he tried to explain that kairouan is the most islamic and religious country in tunisia and it has a big mosque which one of the oldest places to worship in the islamic word, and since that day was the mouled people were celebrating all day and night long in the city fo kairouane so i guess he was suggesting that you visit it to see the celebrations closely he also kept talking about bourguiba which is the first president of tunisia who made history int unisia and he has a huge role in the deconolisation of tunisia by the french and he is originally from monastir (i think you should visit it someday its a clean and interesting place and it has a lot of history) and he was basically saying that sahel which means the coast of tunisia contains sousse monastir mahdia etc.. im trying to translate as much as i can so a lot of things will make more sense to you it was even hard for me as a tunisian to understand because he was speaking broken french and english😅

Another option to move between cities is shared cabs called "louage". It costs 13.5 dinars to go from Tunis to Sousse, the ride takes 1h30 to 2 hours and you won't wait more than 15 minutes to get going. The downside is that it's not that comfortable if you're tall or overweight.
