I am Japanese, but since I have only been to Tokyo once, I really enjoyed this video. The 5-yen coin you picked up is called "goen-dama" in Japanese, and it has a very positive meaning in Japanese. When you happen to pick it up, it is considered to be very auspicious.

And clean! The Japanese have got it right
I’m stunned by how quiet and peaceful the streets are! The vending machines with hot coffee are amazing, why has the rest of the world not got these?! The coin with the hole is like the 25 peseta coin Spain had prior to the euro! Great content as always!
The Japanese are so clean, I use to clean planes when they came in from overseas and the planes that came from Japan I’d walk on and they were spotless, all I had to do was empty the bins, if only all humans were this clean and respectful.
Tokyo seems awesome, so quiet. So clean and the vending machines rock.

When we were living in New Zealand, I ran someone's barber shop for a few years and we had cheaper prices for pensioners just like you saw it in Tokyo in this video. Same when we were living in the UK, haircuts were cheaper for the elderly.
Welcome to Tokyo! We are proud of blue and clear Tokyo sky.🗼
I can’t wait until I go to Tokyo. Thank you Chris for showing us and Greta video. I just found your channel and I’m watching this now and then Thailand soon and catch up on your other videos as much as I can. It’s very clean in Tokyo and the people there are very respectful.
Beautiful, clear video. Thank you so much. ❤
The Tamachi area is where I used to live when I was in Japan. Damn, it is always nice to see those familiar places on YT since I haven't really had the chance to go back for a long time.
Love your vids, thank you and yes I watched the entire vid.
It's surprising to see you getting excited about the hot drinks from vending machines...😄 I guess it was already common 40 years ago
Amazing video thanks Chris and Gladys! There are hot foods in the vending machines too. Take a pic of your guys right in front of the tower it looks huge! Lots of ramen and sweet potato vendors. I miss the food so much too! Have fun!
Fun to see you guys enjoy everything around you🎉

It reminds me of my stay in Tokyo in early 2000^s. My hotel was in the business area so it was not quiet at that time. I really like Gladys outfit. I like their wide streets and wide sidewalks. Back in Toronto, Canada, hectic life is the norm here with crowded streets and sidewalks. I am glad to see that both of you are relaxed in the quiet areas of Tokyo.
Love these super long Vlogs!
45 min and beyond ❤ 100% joy🎉😊

45:32 awesome video! Enjoy Tokyo! This is where I stayed for part of my trip in March/April. So cool you’re walking down the same street with the Hello Kitty fire extinguishers and the tiny shrine on the corner!
Welcome to Japan❤️ Tall buildings look very close, but in reality, they are surprisingly far away and difficult to reach. I had the exact same experience when I went to Tokyo Tower. Also, you're sadly missing out on that truck's delicious Japanese baked sweet potato‼︎ But I'm sure you would encounter other very delicious Japanese food and very cool things of Tokyo from now on.
Welcome to Tokyo Chris & Gladys. I hope you are having an amazing time there. Haven’t seen Gladys on your videos for sometimes and I am happy to see her back on your vlog. Yes, She is nice and funny. Hi Chris and Gladys. Cath was in Japan for a wedding a few years back. She only spent a few days in Tokyo as travelled on to Sendai. Although she managed to do some visits to other areas she said her time there was too short but found it interesting and very different in many ways. We hope to return together so very interested in your Japan series. Love Gladys for her feelings towards the older generation. She is so right. Am sure you will enjoy Japan. Its fascinating, bizarre and beautiful. Thats Caths take anyway. ✌️ yeah watched to the end. 47+ mins 👌💯 Tokyo Tower

I did quite a lot of travelling when I was younger, now I enjoy seeing the world "by proxy" through your videos. I also love watching silent city walks or bike rides with just the street noises, especially of places I know and have visited in the past. Also, I personally prefer longer videos, 30 minutes or longer.

It’s my dream to go to Asia! It’s always been fascinating to me. It’s like another planet but still so similar. I live in Wisconsin and I’ve always been under the impression seniors get a discount everywhere. Haircuts, gym membership, the zoo, etc… I was surprised you guys were shocked by that. I saw on another travel channel that they keep garbage bins down to a minimum because it’s rude to eat while walking. Also it’s considered rude to talk while walking. Have a great time in Tokyo! You both are so sweet! 🧡

Just got back from my first trip to Tokyo and it exceeded every expectation. Hanging out in Harajuku and Akihabara were the pinnacle of people watching. Nightlife in Shibuya was amazing and stumbling across various beautiful green spaces and shrines was otherworldly.
