@MenaceInc not saying you are wrong, but a quick look at dell's offering, i3-13100T, 8G, 256GB ssd, starts at " Estimated Value $1,024.83 Dell Price $669.00 You Save $355.83 (35%)" this is definitely not priced like an entry level x86 sbc, but it's also more powerful than an intel celeron sbc.

@MenaceInc you can't judge new prices vs used prices like that. you can choose to buy used from the after market but even then as you said it's not going to be as powerful. you can't ask a company to put out a product new using used product prices. you can however buy celeron or intel i3 router or SBC at $200-ish new, again, not to be compared with used mini pc prices, but if you think you don't need the specs offered by this specific product. now, it would have been a lot more appealing if this product could have been priced at 450 or 500 with storage, but that's not the world we live in today.

Right now beelink has a lightning deal for $415 with a similarly configured setup using core i5-1240p (12C/16T CPU) and you can expand DDR5 RAM up to 64GB of RAM on the Beelink mini PC. IMHO, LattePanda Sigma's price needs to be better to remain competitive in a already crowded competition. That is $165 less total, comes with a Win11 Pro license and has nice case included for the price. None of these are included on the LattePanda Sigma. Also, you're stuck to 16GB of RAM since it's soldered on the mobo.

With dual 2.5Gbe this SBC makes pretty strong case for lightweight home server. It's actually pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. Only thing I wonder is whether BIOS on that thing allows disabling P cores and only running on E cores? I've been looking for low power solution running cool and quiet. No need for heavy compute. The 8 E cores on it alone would be all I need.

Why disable p cores? Just limit max tdp, so you can use full power of p core in single thread while sipping power when in multithread. If u don't want p cores, just save money and go with either i3 n300 or n100/200 which are way cheaper. Odyssey x86j4125 might get you by, since it now has 2.5gig Ethernet along with m.2 and sata ports

I dunno about buying an expensive SBC and crippling its performance (disabling P cores), that seems wrong. As others have said, there’s better options to limit power draw I think. On a side note, I love that lattepanda put mounting holes onto the heat sink itself, that’s excellent.

But that would be unreasonable on a 13th gen product. I do love the dual NIC though. I think they could have trimmed some things and maybe got it to $450 - $500. i5-1240P or Ryzen 6600H, Gb instead of 2.5Gb ethernet, USB 3.2 gen 1, Thunderbolt 3 and maybe drop an M.2 slot. Hi ETA - love all your videos! I was just wondering - I'm looking to purchase 10 budget mini PCs for use with a charitable organisation. What would you say is more all-round performant, the new Intel N100 mini PCs with DDR5, or an used 6th gen i7 Lenovo/HP/Dell mini PC? Many thanks in advance!

Yeah the price is prohibitive compared to recent Ryzen APUs. The only advantage this might still have is slightly smaller and maybe power efficiency but even power efficiency I have my doubts...

Kinda of a weird question, but was the cpu almost fully utilized in games like doom eternal and csgo with just integrated graphics? I saw the i5 1340p percentage usage on the side and was wondering if that meant cpu usage.
