The ALL NEW 2024 USA/ASA Miken Pro M1; A Slowpitch Softball Bat Review!

Спорт

I'm swinging the all new 2024 Miken Pro M1 USA Slowpitch Softball Bat.
This is a 2 piece bat with Miken's new MAXFLEX barrel technology. This bat is available in 25, 26, 27, and 28 oz and comes with a .5 ounce "maxload". I am swinging the 25oz version.
The fences are 8' tall and 285 feet all the way around. I'm using a mix of old, beat up NX3 Spinners and Evil BP 52+ balls.

Thanks! I need to engage the hips a bit more, but overall I'm pretty happy right now!

The sound of the bat reminds me of the Kretcher.

I'm not an expert in this area, but in my experience, the type of balls being used and temperature are the deciding factors. If you are hitting 52/300s (particularly in warm conditions), the USA bats probably perform better. But in the cold, when the 52/300s are harder, the USSSA bats will generally be better. Most USA bats aren't even designed to hit anything harder than a 52 or to hit in sub 55 degree temps. In cold temps, a 52/30 ball acts more like a 44

Yes. Mostly a mix of NX3 52 Spinners and Evil BP 52s. There are also a few old game balls. It's a low compression bat, so you shouldn't hit anything harder than a 52 with it

Always been leery of ASA bats. I was told don’t use ASA bats in a league that allows USSSA. Any truth to that?

Depends on 2 things imo. What type of ball do you use? And what type of temps do you typically play in?

@@DLeagueBP 44/375 balls. And our games are typically in the high 70s.

I would probably stick to USSSA bats as well. Most USA bats aren't designed to hit 44s, so you would probably just break it. There are a few USAs that do hit 44s, but I would still just use a utrip bat. Unfortunately, I don't do a lot of utrip bat reviews. Will mostly be USA and senior bats
