    I just bought one, and I'm really liking it. The last monitor I bought was the 48" lg OLED, which was good, but somewhat disappointing when it comes to the cost. The Alienware 32, on the other hand, is stunning, with insane colors.

Perhaps, I'll find out one of these years when I upgrade the M1. I have a video on the Studio Display if you're interested. The largest downsides are the 60Hz and the IPS panel.

    Interesting, and thanks for the real-world demo on your Mac as well as your Windows box. I bought the Apple Studio Display and didn’t look back, mostly for how well the color is calibrated right from the factory, the dynamic range, and how nice the very fine pixel pitch 5K display is for photo editing. The resale value of Apple displays is insanely good as well. (This is assuming of course you’re a Mac-only user, which I recognize is a severe handicap for gamers). Having said all that, Apple really, really needs competition to push them forward with more frequent display introductions and something at a lower price point in their lineup. I’m looking forward to your next PC build with an absolutely screaming graphics card, now that prices seem to be dipping a bit at the top of the ranges. Yours is always an informative channel. This is based on what the alienware 34" did in console mode. Solid review. This monitor is at the top of my list currently as a do everything monitor. That 3 year warranty is fantastic as well. The console settings are good for HDR where you can enable external tone mapping which works best imo. The menu system is annoying but you can download the manager and use it on the desktop instead. Works much better. I use it to control 2 Dell monitors. And on that note, if you buy an OLED for PC, try using another display to keep icons etc. You can put a wallpaper on that on leaving the OLED with a black wallpaper, thus minimising potential burn in. Ive used OLEDs for years and never had burn in.

    I can see motion blur in MW3 on your Alienhead OLED. Do you have motion blur enabled within the in game settings? I’m sensitive to motion blur. Only use CRT’s and Zowie’s high refresh rate TN panels for shooter games to get rid of most of the sample & hold blur that other panels seem to not be able to eliminate.

  • @TaylorBrauer

    @TaylorBrauer

    4 ай бұрын

    My game settings have world and weapon motion blur disabled. I film at 24fps so it's likely what you're seeing is a direct result of that. KZread supports up to 60fps videos which still would show blurring on a high refresh rate monitor. Essentially, it's impossible to convey a true to life representation of the motion clarity. I'd recommend seeing it in person, if possibile, if you're considering this monitor and are on the fence with the blur.

    Yw! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Neither is eye fatiguing and I've used both for 8 hours a day for coding. However, that's just me and everyone's experience might be a little different. The ASD is ever so slightly sharper and it's also smaller. I don't believe you'll need a curtain to block sunlight on the regular unless your monitor is right up next to the window. I use mine against my window but it's facing away from it so light pours into my room from behind it and I haven't had any issues with that. I think with your specs it should be able to be maxed out at 4K. How do movies look if streamed from your Mac through the TV app? I have a MacBook Pro M1, if that matters or not. • @TaylorBrauer

    If you downscale, you will notice a difference in resolution. However, this should have no affect on tearing or color. You don't have to run everything in 4k, but use dlss or fsr whenever possible for the best image quality without the full render. I've tried RE: 4 remake and it's incredible. I haven't streamed movies from the Mac yet. 2560x1440 seems to be the only resolution on the M1 MBP that supports HDR. I find 1440p a bit too large looking on desktop. And was afraid it would would be too big. I've been using a Gigabyte M32U 4K 32" 144hz monitor the last few years its been serving me well though. Gaming wise I'm sure I'd love a curved display. The curve is a little odd at first and can take some getting used to for productivity. I think my experience with a curved ultrawide made me more confident with this Alienware. The great thing about these new panels is MSI, Gigabyte, and LG are making non-curved monitors that are the exact same Samsung panel. So, you have some options. I've got some noticeable banding on my AW3225QF with dark grays. It's most visible and distracting in a black room with all lights turned off, but is still visible with lights on and looks like reflections off the screen when panning the camera around in games with a lot of dark gray content, such as Resident Evil 2 Remake. I checked some dark gray test slides on KZread and determined that on my unit, this is a noticeable issue up to about 25% gray, but is most obvious below 12% gray. I am wondering if you or others have this issue as well. My Aw3423dwf doesn't do this. It only has some really minor dark grey banding that is hardly a distraction, but this new 4k panel looks far worse in this regard. At 5% gray, it looks like one of those old LG CX TVs almost with dark patches and stripes all over the place. Such a shame, as it is an otherwise very uniform and amazing looking monitor.

    Hey. I have the aw3225qf but there is something that drives me crazy... There is flickering with G-Sync turned on. It's mainly in situations with gray on the screen like in dark situations which are not 100% black or a little bit lighter. It does happen in loadingscreens too. Is that a common issue for that monitor? Is it a common issue for OLED monitors? I tried it without G-Sync and everything worked perfectly fine. But without G-Sync the games doesn't feel as smooth as with it and have screen-tearing. Could anyone tell me if that is normal and if other OLED monitors (like the Asus pg32ucdm) doesn't have this issue? It's really really sad that this has VRR flickering because if it wouldn't have it, it would be a perfect monitor. I'm thinking about returning it because that isn't acceptable for 1000 bucks to be honest. (Latest Firmware is installed) Would be really nice if anyone can help!
