Edit : this keyboard is awesome ! Get it , if you are a Naruto fan, it's worth the pick and get yourself a nice set of keycaps. Key switchs are up to preference, I went with all penguin akko

It's probably doing that because those new keyboards are using PCB's with cutouts designed to flex under your hands. It probably also has gasket mounts. The give is to add comfort for typing. It's terrible for heated gamer moments.

if that keyboard had cherry mx you'd say that would be good for gaming in term of responsiveness?

would you say if I got a different set of switches like silent alpacas, i wouldn’t have a problem gaming? The main issue here is just the switches when gaming

For most people, absolutely. I just press down way too hard when gaming. So a metal case and a stronger pcb is basically required. Also go to Best Buy or something to test out if you like linear or tactile. (I use tactile for gaming and linear for typing)

I'd say take the keyboard apart and rebuild it. Usually it might be because of the interference of the gasket mounts not being completely on top of the gaskets.

That could be the case. I’ve taken it apart once or twice now, and it’s definitely a very shoddy board overall.

Does it really bend cause mini is really sturdy and i like it how would u compare the two ? mini is best keyboard world if we reduce the rattle from wires thats why im looking for something similar help plz

Does the keyboard have a good reaction time?

I've heard that the 5075b plus has an exagerated amount of gasket mount flexibility but I've heard that they fixed it to be more balanced in the 5075b plus v2

It’s great budget keyboard custom it’s one of the best keyboards on the market for its price

Just want to ask some opinions. If I have this keyboard and instead of playing games, if I use this keyboard for daily use, is it okay?

Can you elaborate a little bit on what causes the longer travel time of the keys? Are the switches somehow higher than on the Hyperx? I've been using the older Hyperx Alloy FPS for fps games and was looking into this board but after seeing this I'm second guessing. And for the durability claims, do you think it's due to the gasket mount structure of the board? In that case would something like 3084b be a better option?

For the travel time- Some boards DO have shorter traveling switches (like the Apple keyboards.) usually because they don’t have any switches at all, OR they have really really light actuation points. And for the durability- I’d say it’s mostly the type of PCB you choose to use and it’s CASE. The ones I got are polycarbonate and silicone respectively that come default, which aren’t the highest durability ever. I just prefer the all metal designs when gaming.

If those don’t bother you, and you’re willing to maybe grab a separate set of switches for ~$50 on their site (depending on which ones you get,) it’s not that bad! I just so happen to press down pretty hard when I game.

And as I now try to mimic how I play, I assume in the moment of intense gaming I have no idea how hard I press the keys. For the key travel I'm still a bit confused. You said your Hyperx has a low profile but are the switches in that keyboard low profile switches as well or just that the frame is lower than on the Akko? I get that chiclet style keys like on laptops are much lower compared to mech switches but I am just curious how something like the CS Silvers would compare to my Hyperx which has Cherry MX Reds. I assume the travel distance should be similar and what I gathered the CS Silvers should actually be faster with lower actuation point than the cherry reds. May I also ask how is the 2.4ghz connectivity and battery life while I'm mainly looking for a wireless keyboard?

@@Riisiluro you’re definitely right about the silvers. They are much faster, and both boards have similar travel distances. As for the battery life.. I’m not a fan. It’s about 8 hours with an estimated 16 for charging. And no fast charging to speak of. The latency isn’t noticeable but that battery is horrible for me.

I'm looking for a TKL/65% board with nordic layout and want to use it mainly wireless with 2.4ghz but I guess I need to keep looking. Unfortunately the custom space is not very crowded with this kind of options, guess I'll have to go with a gamer brand while many of them have the battery life sorted out. I'm just not the biggest fan of the non-customisable structure and gamer aesthetic.

do you like it looks good and sounds good i am thinking of buying it for my first keyboard would you recommend it

I think it’s great! Just not the gaming board I was looking forward to. I recommend it for people who aren’t super hardcore gamers.

The board is fine for gaming, what your complaining about is the flex of the pcb. If you want a stiffer typing experience just change the plate to an alu one, and if you dont like the long bottom out of a regular switch just change it to those fast gaming switches with shorter bottom outs and lighter springs. Akko sells the silver pom ones.

Imo JDA profile of keycaps and Gasket mount are main reason why you don't like the performance of keyboard in FPS/competitive games :

Put some eva foam, tape mod and its reducing flex. also bu can buy oem and cherry keycaps for gaming they better imo i cant play games with asa-mda profile to.

im not sure if u know much about this keyboard im talking about but, i just bought the akko 20th anniversary cinnamoroll 5075b plus, it didnt arrive yet but i wanna know your opinion on it for gaming, i play a lot of league btw, just so you know the type of games im thinking about playing :B

My two main problems with it for gaming are actually it’s battery life and it’s build quality. The case and pcb are not great for high intensity unless you’re a bit delicate with your fingers. Get light switches, and probably tactile ones too, just to make sure you actually pressed the button(I had a couple issues with that from the bending I talked about.) and the battery isn’t the most horrible thing if you don’t play every day/ every other day like I do. However it lasts about 3 weeks for me, and when it dies, it’s dead for an entire day before it’s fully charged(16 hrs ish). If you use it with light tactiles and maybe mod it with something slightly firm, it could easily become a better board overall!

@@swaggynayo the travel time will roughly be the same, a little less honestly, but you won’t need as much force with these by a noticeable amount. Not much, but enough to notice. But the force isn’t the biggest thing that bothers me, it’s really the travel distance, so you could very well have a better experience than me!

Bro I had to toss mine the other day because it died and wouldn’t keep a charge 😂 I don’t think I’m gonna get another one of their keyboards but I still love their switches. I’m gonna try and snag me a zoom or wooting for gaming if I get the chance! For now I’m stuck with my 3 y/o huntsman mini lol

@@akaseven112 mine MUST have shipped broken, because I’ve only had it for a month, and I’ve only heard good things about it. I thought I was just being crazy or just borderline picky at first, but then, when it started dying after I had just charged it, that’s when I knew something was up.

my razer blackwidow from ten years ago is an INSANELY durable keyboard. i have slammed my fist onto it full force dozens of times. still works beautifully to this day. not sure the new ones are this durable but back in the day, these were made for raging for sure!

How long you wait is entirely dependent on the switches, not the keyboard. Of all the switches, the akko silvers are probably the best bet for gaming since their pre travel is only 1mm, pretty short compared to the average of 2mm on other switches. Welcome to the world of gasket mounted, flex cut pcbs with a PC plate lol its supposed to be bouncy and flexible. But what you need is more of a aluminum or steel plate if you're going to be abusing the keyboard

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. 1) gasket mounts (the bouncing flex for the keys) are removable, you have to take apart the keyboard if you want to remove it. 2) your hunstman mini that has linear optical switches will most likely be better for gaming than the silver switch option included with this keyboard. But as you said, they are hotswappable, so you can switch it out for some other faster mechanical switches that could get close to the response of the optical switches. Unfortunately I don’t have any recommendations for that. 3) in my opinion it also sounds much better than the huntsman mini (and for many others they think the same), and this keyboard is mostly for those prebuilt keyboard enthusiasts looking for that type of good sound that the huntsman mini doesn’t have. So yeah, your huntsman mini will most likely be better for gaming since it is designed to be a gaming keyboard and has optical switches, but when people by this keyboard they usually aren’t looking to game with it (also like you said when it wasn’t specifically marketed towards gamers), so you can’t really blame it for having worse gaming performance than your huntsman mini, since one is designed for games and one isn’t.

In my case, they just don’t..it’s likely because of the basic pcb and zero mods I used, but for a typing-focused keyboard it’s just not enough for me, so I grabbed the creamy yellows.

It didn’t last very long, the battery died after some months..

Maybe you need faster switches. I have 3068b, 5075b plus, both with akko silver v3 pros. I have too wooting 60he, razer huntsman 60% with gen 2 red switches, 007HE, hyperx origins 60 with linear reds, and more. The wooting is the fast keyboard feeling, but keycaps, case and noise is awfull. 007HE, is wooting fast, but a milisecond slower. Excellent sound, case and feel. 3068B, with v3 silvers pro is very good, i like a lot. 5057b plus, with v3 silvers pro is good too, but gasket mounted. More squishy but perfect for gaming. (and typing to, if you like light fast switches as the v3 silver pro) Hunstman modded, is very good, easy to mod. With tapemod, and switch lubrication with wd40ptfe, is very good. Hyperx Origins 60% with reds, are awesome too, good switch lubrication and its done. Good case too, all made in metal, very crisp sound, but not annoying. This is my top 6 keyboard, I try a lot more, but this six are good to keep.

The battery life is also shit

That’s not my only issue with it. The durability and high profile are a huge issue for my preference. It would be fine if I only played casual games, but I don’t. So knowing that I can’t recommend it for gamers..
