When my dad died, one of the biggest urges I had was to run. Yes, thoughts of running away and leaving everything behind, but really I just wanted to run. A chance to be free from the grips of my mourning family as we walked and cried down that hospital hallway. Families turning to look at my mom, sister, and I as we walked to see my dad’s body as he lay dead on the hospital table, and I just wanted to run away from it all. He had been pronounced dead at our house, I later found out. The memories and feelings of that day are still extremely vivid for me, even 20 year later: I was at my neighbors house and we were about to go to the movies. I was going home to ask my parents if I could go, as i was walking down the street, I hear sirens going off, and my mom runs outside and starts yelling, “tell them that your dad is upstairs and he is not breathing!” I instantly had a huge rush of adrenaline, and I remember yelling at the paramedics that he was upstairs and not breathing. I then ran in my house, up the stairs, and to my parents bathroom where I see my dad lying on the ground, pale and blue, gasping for air. I lean down to see him, and he looks at me, and tries to say something, I like to think he said he loves me, but honestly I don’t what he was saying. At that moment the paramedics come in and ask me to leave. I sat at the end of the hall, completely disassociated with everything as they walked him down the stairs and into the back of the ambulance. I could feel that he had died, and I knew it. I refused to go with my mom and sister in the car to the hospital bc I didn’t want to go and get told what was happening. I wanted to run away then, and my neighbors dad actually forced me to go to the hospital (he is great man who was a big father figure me). Much of this time at the hospital was a blur, a preacher came in to pray with the family, several family friends came in and out, but the memory that stands out is the one that I mentioned at the beginning. On the way home, fireworks were going off all around bc it was 4th of July. And I remember crying in my friends moms car as she drove me home. I can’t point to any single thing as my what helped me through this. Truly, the only thing that helps is time. But running has always been my connection with my dad bc he was a runner. Today, I remembered being in that hospital hallway with the urge to run, but this time I was running. I cried on my run as people probably thought I was crazy seeing a 30 year old man with a beard running and crying haha. I probably need therapy, running doesn’t replace what a professional can help you sort you through, but it can help you battle past your demons. Sorry for the long post. Your content is truly refreshing.

Its either running or drugs and let tragedy consumed you. Keep running! Make your father proud and crying is healing for the soul. P.S. I have also cry while running hehe... you got this stranger ❤
Nico, you’ve gotten me to sign up for various 10ks, a half, a full and having me want to become a more hybrid athlete, THANK YOU, pls never stop
I just got back from my run i was going to skip but after watching this 75% of the way through I threw my runners on and leased up the dogs and just ran. Thank you for the inspiration. I appreciate you sharing your journey. I have an autoimmune disease and had to beg my Dr to allow me to walk the 5k I did last year but this year my health is 100% better and am pacing myself into fully running my second 5k, not worried about times but about pacing and enjoying every step ❤️

Really love and appreciate the message of just loving the act of running! Your content is always so well produced and emits such an awesome vibe. You've helped me really fall in love with running, so I owe a lot to your content, wish I could support you by buying a t-shirt, so hope you'll expand with international shipping 🙏 Can't wait to watch more dope content, these videos continue to be the best part of my weekends 😊
I remember watching your What I Eat In a Day TikToks 3 and a half years ago. I would’ve never thought you’d make the leap from those videos to accumulating the massive fan base you now have (350k?!?!). Very well deserved. Proof that when you truly want something and stay consistent good things m. You and I have similar very similar stories, too and that’s what really made me connect with your content way back when. I’ve been really staying off off social medias for a while now and when I saw your sub count I was shocked dude. Keep going.
Nico, these videos are awesome and super inspiring. I’m 14 and you’ve motivated me to start running and I love. Thank you Nico keep it up.
Starting running in November because of you and ran my first half marathon in April. Ran a 1:56. Still going! Thank you!
Yoo man I've been watching you for so long now, I've been taking tips from you as I too do running. You inspire me a lot, so thank you man.
Nico, because of you and this inspiring channel I started running again. I used to be a CrossFit athlete but was all burnt out in 2020. It's been hard getting back into a workout routine but in the past 6 months, I've been running and absolutely love it. Thank you.
Keep going Nico!!! Love your videos. You’re a real inspiration

I love the quote you live by. I have a journal full of my quotes and messages. I call it my “growth book”. i’m definitely putting that quote in my journal.
Your and Nick are one of ghetto reasons why I added a lot of running to my training and got into BPN, hopefully one day I can be on the team 🤙🏾😁
Nico love the video! I’d call your post marathon summer series “the cool down” I think it’s ironic bc of the heat and that’s what u do after you run a hard effort!
The quality of Nico’s content is truly amazing. He needs more clout, show some support and subscribe for the marathoner.
I was on vacation with no service but it’s so great to watch a new Nico video just on a Thursday night. Also I’m getting that sick merch 🔥

New York. Really enjoying your content
Been too long! Knew it was gonna be a good day when I saw you posted lol
Thanks for inspiring me to run again man
That’s freaking crazy!! I actually added that quote in my Notes because I loved it then it’s on the shirt later in the vid 🤯💪🏽 Meant to be
Tip! Use the small square style bandaids! They usually come in assorted size boxes. Much less bulky then a regular bandaid. Hardly notice them. But saves your cheese nips over the long run
Just copped the new shirt in white! Keep killing it Nico!

Nicely done!
Great music for this video, man.
A great way to enjoy running is by trining for something different. Try mixing it up and race maybe a 5k or 10k race. Would love to see it as a cross country runner myself see how you improve and how you like the distance!!
You have an incredible lifestyle. Keep up the good work.
Love u Nico try doing something I love to see your videos even u am not a road runner it’s quality and content i love it love from nepal 🇳🇵 ❤

The Lulu fast and free half tights are the GOAT of all running gear. Second, try straight up Vaseline for the nips. Thick dollop on there, and you're generally good for a LR 🤜🤛
Sick Merch 🔥Can't Wait to Cop Mine!

We need your merch to be sold worldwide! 🌎❤️
Move to Austin, TX be close with BPN, and growing your running community/channel there. I feel its endless for you down here man
I wish I could tag you wearing your merch but unable to purchase as we are in Australia. Love watching the content.
Your Huge Inspiration To Me! All Way From The city of Angels ....
I think the series should be something like "More Than Running Series " You aren't just any average Runner You represent a lot of Things that are outside the realm Of just A paved Road. I feel like you're series will expand on things such as mental health, self-care , family orientation as well as friends. Great job on your success, I think you have a wonderful journey ahead of you
