AlexG911 fair, but since it was a campaign made with the intent of entertaining the public rather than a regular at home game, Griffin had to take measures to make sure everything worked cohesively. Besides, his brothers and dad were alright with it and enjoyed it, too, so no harm’s done! It’s their game and they played their way :)

Justin's timing in that scene keeps being absolutely amazing to me. Like, he knew what Griffin wanted and just NAILED it, and it continues to be fucking bone-chilling. I love your Taako a lot, too, and both of your characters are so wonderfully emotive! Lovely lovely work

It's always great to see the brothers on the exact same wavelength, both dramatically and comedically. The sibling connection both in and out of fiction is makes this one even better

yOUR BARRY IS HOT

I’ve never heard anyone splice together the heart clip with the rest of this audio and it seriously hit me like a freight train and I started crying instantly

One day I may be able to experience this scene without crying. But today is not that day.

The improv in this episode is still my fav, like the like “who” is so simple yet so powerful and I’ll never forget it

That one dislike is Barold not remembering which button is the like button

It feels weird hearing the "Who?" without Clint's laugh after... Amazing job! One of the best moments of TAZ!!

I really love your decision to have the blasting just be Justin’s text! That line is the one that personally hits me the hardest in this whole scene, the idea that Taako is frantically trying to help this person he doesn’t remember and the urgent way that Justin says it, and to suddenly see it in print in the middle of the scene hits me hard in the best way

That "who" still gets to me but then you adding Lup's quote at the end destroyed me.

this made me cry so hard,, you did such a good job on this

I'm kind of glad they're going back to D&D for the next arc so TAZ can get back some of its lost popularity, some people are saying that D&D isn't as good for storytelling but this right here proves it can be just fine. Yes, I realize Stolen Century was a different system Griffin made up but they didn't really use either for this episode, there weren't really any rolls of either system, and the majority of this story was D&D.

I think the bulk of the plot twist was spent in Stolen Century. Other then that though, I think TAZ was an amazing story. I think one of my favorite arcs was petal to the medal, which was entirely DND and had a lot of story to it.

idk why the system matters honestly, both balance and amnesty were amazing stories and i loved both of them. dnd purists getting pissy over that is just so stupid, it's still Griffin's storytelling, just a different way of playing????

@@starglittersys people forget fantasy doesn't need to be gritty or realistic. Fantasy always been mystical and wonderous. Which is what TAZ is. A lot of my favorite fantasies rely on mysticism and wonder (Wheel of Time, Stormlight Archive and Middle-Earth, KingKiller Chronicles) because it allowed me to escape, which is why I adore TAZ a lot. TAZ was never meant to be serious, it was always been a show about family and endurance.

Ironically, the system used in Stolen Century was a tweaked version of what they use in Amnesty.

Yeah this moment is devastating, but I’m consistently blown away by Justin’s timing and roleplaying here. He 100% understood the assignment and the first “who?” gives me chills every time

I was already crying but the inclusion of “you are my heart, you know that right” definitely broke me JEEZ

Stuff like this is what makes me want TAZ to get a fully animated show

God we did this arc yesterday in our campaign and I almost cried. Our DM portrayed Barry’s frantic manner so well as he started to forget, as well as Davenport’s and Lucretia’s

dalton allen Our DM kept the campaign the same save for our characters. He added in the originals as mentors and our PCs’ mentors determines what relic we made :0

God Justin taking that first step always gives me chills. I love that he was able to read the situation well enough to know where it was going and play into it.

I had a lot of this stuff spoiled for me and had even seen this before I got to it in the podcast, and even still, it freaking wrenched my heart out, these boys are just too good at what they do, all of them

This got recommended to me for no reason a while ago. This and one other animation is what got me to get caught up to this point in the adventure zone. Good work you’re doing

AND THAT LAST PART JUST REALLY HITS IT HOME.

The emotion in this moment is just so raw, and you capture Taako's dawning sense of horror really well.

It's not every day that I watch a two minute youtube video and start crying, but today is one of them

The "Who?"gets me but the moment right after Griffin says "you realize you don't know who that is" that small window of Silence makes my stomach do flips.

The thing about "you don't know where you are"...usually it means "you don't recognize the place you are". But Taako literally has where he is pulled out of his brain. He cannot perceive where he is. I can't imagine what that's got to be like, until.he manages to wander to somewhere new...

llama sniper11 even tho it’s been YEARS, so much of Balance makes me lose my shit crying. I don’t think I’ll ever be emotionally stable about this story arc like, ever. Sometimes just thinking about The Stolen Century and other little moments makes me cry.

haha i listened to the very first 14 episodes of this series and couldn't catch up for the life of me. looking at how far it's come makes me emotional with some kind of bittersweet jealously. looks really cool, even completely out of context.
