I like how it's implied the thing she saw that killed her was the original flight of the starblaster, and seeing as how much of that Lucretia voided out, trying that much to think about something you a) have no idea what it is, b) cant form a thought of what it is, c) when you do try all you get is static that would turn you insane pretty quickly

This literally helped me decipher those vocaloid lyrics. It was neigh impossible, but this astounding animation was a surprisingly perfect tool. Well done embodying the various portions of the songs.

I'm still haveing problems hearing it so hear is the lyrics have fun. Pulled from my home inside a cloud Lost to the dark I drift alone Now I'm returned beyond the shroud Ever to reign upon my throne Here in my Crystal Kingdom I saw beyond the universe Far past the places we should see But for my vision I was cursed Torn from my home and family Lost to my Crystal Kingdom Saved from the darkness by my child Locked in a cage of glass and steel But my true love remains in exile Beckoning me to break the seal Into this Crystal Kingdom Kept from our children, lovers, friends Subject to laws we did not make This is where separation ends And souls of the lost will come awake Enter this Crystal Kingdom

I really love the scribbly style in this and the way maureen gets pulled down. ALSO love how living vs dead is presented by making drawing the living with these clean lines. Great Work!!!

I first heard these songs before I started listening from the beginning, and I just thought they were good little tunes with a story I would never understand. But the moment all the meanings clicked at the end of Crystal Kingdom after having heard the songs almost a year ago was honestly so incredibly satisfying... If there's any way to experience this arc, it's that way.

You know I just started taz and I feel sorry for the story the dm tells when 90% of it just goes over the 3's heads

mcdjdeath don't worry closer to the end the three start to get really involved. They are goofers but they do get emersed in the story 💕

I'd give them more credit. Travis rewatches episodes all the time and all 3 of them occasionally pause the story dead in its tracts to tell Griffin they're having fun or that his ideas are cool.

The first time I heard this song, I thought it was describing a higher planar being, a sentience born as an emergent property of the Earth's weather system (snow/precipitation motif; "pulled from my home inside a cloud), and that it had been somehow thrust into a mortal body as ruler of the crystal kingdom. I anticipated that the driving conflict would be other sentiences similar to it trying to either overwhelm the earth with crystal magic or assimilate the entire matter of the Earth into a giant cosmic sentience to reclaim their lost friend... which kind of spoiler alert? It didn't end up being completely wrong (just mostly wrong), after meeting the Big H boy. But I'm a big sucker for creepy emergent properties in fantasy. I couldn't be disappointed, though, because Griffin is a bananas awesome storyteller.

Kyle Moss This song is from the D&D podcast The Adventure Zone. It is FANTASTIC, and the ost is great as well once it's implemented in the Chrystal Kingdom arch. I highly recommend it, even if D&D isn't really your thing. They're really bad at D&D (very good with stories though) Verse 1 Pulled from my home inside a cloud Lost to the dark I drift alone Now I've return beyond the shroud Ever to reign apon my throne Here in my chrystal kingdom Verse 2 I saw beyond the omniverse Far past the places we should see But for my vision I was cursed Torn from my home and family Lost to my chrystal kingdom Verse 3 Saved from the darkness by my child Trapped in a cage of glass and steel But my true love remains in exile Beckoning me to break the seal Into my crystal kingdom Verse 4 Keep from our children, lovers, friends Subject to laws we did not make This is where separation ends And souls of the lost will come awake Enter my crystal kingdom

This is very cool! But I think you could of gotten better use of the Crystal Kingdom lines. They're so cool and the crutch of the song, but the camera is rather boring during them. No cool cuts, or zooms out to show said kingdom (just a possible example), and only a couple changes to the image. And also the line "I saw beyond the omniverse, far past what we should see" always stuck out to me as a place that would be awesome visually, but they fell flat in this. Overall I think this is a good animatic, and the character design and use of color and lines are awesome. You just didn't capitalize on scenes that you could of, and you're missing that oomf.

CubalayaBandit thanks for the feedback! I didn’t really intend for this to be a very literal explanation of what the song meant or the story being presented by the arch. I was trying to create a very figurative display of the emotions I felt the song invoked, even if it left the final product a bit bland. I was trying to convey the creepy and simplistic vibe of the song, and I felt like large scenes or fancy camera movement would be too convoluted when paired with the simplicity of the song. I also wanted to reflect the repetition of the melody in the song, without it being the exact same screen over and over again. If you’d like some more complex scene building, camera movement, and emotion, I would recommend some of my other animatics. Specifically my one about Lucretia’s Wonderland Story. Thanks again for the constructive criticism!
