Ok I’ll be That Guy...this isn’t Fretzl’s composition. This is transcription. Griffin composed it, Fretzl covered it. And TBH i don’t even know which is more impressive. Seeing it played is just...how do you fingers?? The fact Griffin wrote it...did he play it on guitar? Did he do it electronically? This just looks SO HARD to play, like he should be doing concerts if he can sit and make this up by noodling... but i can’t imagine coming up with it on keyboard because the stuff you can only do on a guitar (string bending, etc) is so integral to the song. And to be able to hear it on the podcast and then sit down and figure it out...!! I won’t say you make it look easy, because nothing can do that. You just have spidermonkey fingers. I’m gonna go listen another five or ten times.

@@marmme7756 this wouldn’t be a transcription, because the original was created on a keyboard and is composed in a way that makes more sense on a keyboard than on a guitar.

The good good Mcelroy boys would be proud of this

this sounds like it should come after we get a happy ending at the end of the arc and everything is at peace

@@fretzl Arounds the 0:27 mark, that little run down the guitar. I don't think it's in the original, but frankly, it brings so much depth the song. You've got so many plates in the air and you perform it flawlessly. Color me impressed.

Inspired by Amnesty, my family picked up the game manual and play monster hunter heroes weekly. The setting is on the marshes between Mississippi and Alabama. Your guitar sound fits the tone perfectly! We always play it at the start to pump up and the end for the hook. Thank you for such a great cover.

Took me a good while but I FINALLY got it down. Thank you so much for the tabs and video. I had no idea a tuning was available where you could fit basically all of the instrument parts onto one instrument. I got a resonator guitar that was just begging me to learn it, and it's quite happy now. Amazing arrangement.

heyy sorry this is a bit late, but I definitely used the strings that I'd been using for this guitar in standard tuning, nothing is higher than it would be in standard so you're not at risk of breaking anything, the worst case scenario is that you have some floppy sounding strings lol

Eyeball! Thank you!! I've actually been trying to figure this out lol. Amnesty's based in West Virginia so I have a suspicion that the theme is partially inspired by its musical heritage but I haven't found anything in that vein that's suuuper similar (e.g. I looked up "Appalachian folk" and it all sounds way more sparse and simple than the TAZ theme). I feel like I've heard stuff like it before though.. one thing I may be thinking of is some stuff from the Bastion soundtrack? It at least has a lot of down-tuned acoustic guitars lol. Also idk if you checked my other videos but if you're interested I have a lot of Steven Universe covers bbttww :] :]

fretzl Just listened to a portion of the Bastion ost, sounds really nice. After looking around for a bit, I found the album Rodeo Eroded by the Tin Hat Trio, to have a similar flow to the music in Amnesty. (imo)
