Yeah. This episode brought some thoughts to me. What if the Jedi and all their actions created the Sith we know in prequels. What if all the ancient siths we know is just jedi’s interpretation of the sith. What if the real ancient sith are just wanted to live with the force in piece how they want (in the same way how witches wanted)

It’s interesting because Palpatine talks about bringing peace and order to the Galaxy and Wimir talks about wanting to use the Force the way he wants and to not be under the oppression of the Jedi, when it’s clear from their actions that they’re just power hungry and murderous.

I was at first sure that Sol would see through the disguise and realize that she is Mae and not Osha. But then I realized he is probably not calm and collected enough to see the finer details like the marking on her forehead to distinguish that she is Mae, since he had just come out of being stunned after fighting for his life while seeing his Padawan, and Yorde, and the rest of the Jedi on his away team get merciless killed by an evil that they were not prepared for.

He probably would, had his mind be kept in balance, but it’s not. Let’s not forget everything that transpired before he boards the ship with Mae. He just witnessed his colleagues get massacred. He himself almost went to the darkside by almost giving in and killing an unarmed Qimir, and his core philosophy and faith, that which his entire character is built on, was put into question by this Sith.

I don't think he is a Sith. He's a Knight of Ren, perhaps their founder. Qimir says "I have no name." He also says "A Jedi *like you* would call me Sith." He doesn't outright state that he IS a Sith. No dramatic namedrop, nothing of the usual egotistic stuff we see from Sith. He also goes on about the Jedi having too many rules and that he wants freedom. Nothing about revenge or domination or destroying the Jedi. Yord says that he fights without method, the Sith are disciplined and elegant in a way, Qimir is lead only by his passion, he doesn't act according to a grand plan or strict discipline. Yord also says that he invades your mind and stays there, the closest analogy can be drawn to Kylo Ren invading Rey's mind. He also uses Force heal which we have not seen Sith to use before, which could indicate that he is not fully devoted to the dark side. He talks about accepting his own darkness, embracing the shadow and doing as they wish is the core philosophy of the Knights of Ren. There are also several prominent instances of the Kylo Ren theme, first in the beginning of the episode when Osha picks up PIP and even more clearly at the end around the 28 minute mark where Qimir heals Osha.

I'm with you on this! I immediately wondered if he was a Knight of Ren when he was revealed. It was the only way I could make sense of the timeline. Although, we know so little about what Sith lived during this time. I figure that Plagueis or his master is the Dark Lord at this time. So this could be expanding on the Knights of Ren. Which people practically begged for during the sequels. I didn't get really interested in Knights of Ren until I saw Qi'ira working with them in the comics. I think this could be an attempt at fleshing out their story. Honestly, I can use a break from the Sith.

It is a shame that jecki and yord aren’t going to get full arcs but I think that’s exactly why this episode is so effective. The last few episodes really set us up to feel cozy and safe with our main four heroes and planted seeds for arcs for those two while telegraphing Sol’s death. Omg sooo much happening in this one!! 1. Jecki going up against Smilo Ren reminded me of Ahsoka taking on Grievous and Ventress in the Clone Wars and absolutely NOT getting dominated, but instead just showcasing such insane talent, control, courage, and creativity for a padawan. Even Jecki’s smirk when she got dual sabers was just so badass😏 !! That said, the parallel made me feel like she wouldn’t win but she’d at least get away like Ahsoka and I gasped so loud when she didn’t make it 😩😭 2. Was NOT ready for Yord to go down, still not. There’s such a place in the world for people like him who have a long way to go maturity wise but can really show up and add value in the present. We all have our limitations. He really was “our jerk” lol. I’ve been feeling excited this whole time to see what season 2 would mean for his and Jecki’s development (like the type of development that really hits home and resonates), so a bit sad there. That said, I’m kinda really liking the lack of Jedi heroes in this show - even Sol is such a flawed hero. These are so many shades of grey that are unsettling but also so powerful. It feels like the real world. And I’m here for the messiness. I wish they had more budget to slow down and enhance pretty much every aspect of the show bc there’s just so much to love. 3. Speaking of unsettling, the relationship between Mae and Osha has me a bit shook. As a twin myself that went through family trauma together with her, that codependence and weird feeling of “is this love or manipulation/trauma” is definitely a thing that comes up in adulthood when you don’t look at your pain. I’m sure they won’t be able to do it justice with so much to tackle in the show, but the fact that that’s in the show too - again I just appreciate so many solid nuggets of powerful storytelling in here. Family is so big in Star Wars and let’s be fr, family is messsssssyyyy (not just I have a sister I didn’t know about). 4. Definitely heard the Kylo Ren theme in there, anyone have an analysis? I have to go back and watch again. 5. I’m so impressed with how quickly the writers got us to care about Jecki and Yord. I’m noticing a lot of fans aren’t seeming as invested in Osha and Mae - I’m sure there’s a term in film for this where we follow the main characters but don’t care about them the most (admittedly I felt this way about Luke in the OT for a long time, I cared more about the journey the full group/world was on). Are they not spending enough time on them? I’m invested because of the twin thing I mentioned in point 3 and the possible dyad situation. But I still feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s the tragedy with Sol and the Jedi that’s realllllly gonna get us feeling for them when they reveal it. 6. Thank you for explaining why the sabers were all shorting out. I had no idea wtf was going on.

With regards to "Qimir" talking about wanting freedom. I think it's two things. One, he wants freedom for himself, in the vein of the Sith Code. Two, he's framing things in a way that will call Sol's mind back to the witches intentionally, to keep pushing Sol out of balance. And if "Qimir" does intend to recruit Osha as his new acolyte, it really reminds me of the Sith Warrior storyline from The Old Republic, where you confront Jaesa Willsaam and can provoke her Jedi master into losing control and showing his darkness to push her away from the Jedi Order and into becoming your apprentice.

Why is no one talking about Jecki's coming into the fight with a fantastic drop-kick on Mae?! I rewound that over and over

I was blown away. The bad taste the cliffhanger left was instantly dispelled by that fantastic intro. I screamed for Jecki, she was so wise for her years, with a great moral compass, fantastic in a fight and with a good dose of sass. Dafne was amazing. These has got to be near the best choreographed fighting scenes in a SW show, rivalling Ahsoka and the movies. Manny was incredible. The vibe change, the dread emanating from him, the visceral fighting. I love the show!

Jecki was right up there with Ahsoka vs Maul, better than anything in the movies. And she is still so young, I'm sure she'll be a huge action star if she wishes. Would love to see her reprise X23, at least we won't have to worry about her getting triple stabbed then.

In the last 10 seconds of the episode, as Qimir kneels down to Osha, Kylo Ren's Theme plays. ("Kylo Ren arrives at the Battle") Do you think thats just a musical coincidence or is it meant to foreshadow something? Edit: Rewatching it I noticed it plays every time Qimir shows up in a scene

Maybe he's an outcast from the Knights of Ren, doesn't seem like he'd do well within a group environment. Definitely not one to get stuck on a group project with.

@@fiachramacaodha1260 Sure, I can see that. I also saw some people talking about how he could be the First Ren, even if it'd be a great connection with cool potential story developments, I'd still prefer him be a Banite Sith, simply because it would bring me a lot of joy to see Ki-Adi-Mundi be even more of a Hypocrite and a fool in denial. xD

I'm not convinced these two episodes needed to be split. They were both only half an hour. That would *not* have been a mega-episode. It would have just been a regular hour long episode. I loved seeing cortosis on screen for the first time, though 🤩!

I thought the "A jedi wont attack an unarmed opponent" to be so infuriating. One wouldn't need to kill him but turn him into nothing but a Torso, knock him out or anything else but letting him go back up and have his weapon again. He just killed a bunch of Jedi and openly confessed to be part of the Evil guys...

This bothered me SO MUCH! If it had been feasible to arrest him, sure but that obviously wasn't going to happen. And anyway, can you really consider a force user "unarmed" ever? I know he couldn't kill him because there are too many episodes left, but is that *really* a violation of the Jedi code?
