In the episode where they’re in the apothecary, Qimir shouts at them when they come in, something like, “Please don’t do your Jedi mind wipe thing!” I think he said that to put them off guard, and make them self conscious about doing something so invasive. So I believe that’s why Sol was put off guard and didn’t investigate him any deeper at the time. Just kinda what I was thinking anyway. 🤷‍♂️

I have experience felling trees and I went back to look at this on my first watch. The trees wouldn’t necessarily fall towards the lower edge of the cut - it all depends on the center of gravity of what is above the cut (all the branches and such). In a forest, trees rarely grow evenly on all sides, which is why you look up the trunk when planning your cut to basically do the opposite of what the episode showed and make your notch on the heavy side. So, it’s possible as shown, but also one of the least safe ways to purposefully cut down a tree :)

When Qimir sends Jecki lon to the living force. That was a filipino martial arts move ( Espada Y Daga/ sword and dagger) . Kali, also known as Arnis or Eskrima, is the martial art of the Philippines. Kali emphasizes fighting with tools like sticks, knives, swords, improvised weapons, as well as empty hand techniques. the fight choreographers Chris Cowan, Mark Ginther, and Daren Nop worked on daredevil and moon knight, in which those characters fight in the style of arnis Manny Jacinto is filipino, only makes sense that would be the fighting style

Hmmm I still don’t believe he’s a Sith despite what Mannay and production say. They could have just been told to say that to hide the real reveal. Because the Star Wars Databank doesn’t classify him as a Sith like it does Darth Maul. Annnd you of all people would know that the dialogue they chose is intentional. If they wanted to dub him a Sith Lord, they would have used more direct dialogue when Sol ask what he is and flat out say, “I am a Sith”. Instead the audience gets an open ended answer that could be interpreted differently. Either the writers they’re trolling us to spark up engagement or their misleading us to save for a bigger reveal…

Another thing I love about the writing of this episode is how the Jedi we haven't had any/little attachment built up for all die first. This sets us up to expect everyone else should be ok. Even Yord being injured works toward setting up this expectation; our guys wont be unscathed, n but they'll be ok. And it really shows us how strong our Sith Lord is, sets stakes, and is some really great and pretty brutal sabre combat. The force pull into an already run through Jedi was superb. And our heroes all get chances to shine and be brilliant and get some wins on the board. There are clear deviations from the usual formula for this kind of encounter with a villain; but it still meets our expectations. The writers are really setting this up brilliantly. And our guys start dying. It got to a point where I didn't know if anyone was safe, and I was on the edge of my seat. This episode needs to be treated as a lesson in how to build up expectations and tension and then go against those expectations in a logical and emotionally meaningful way.

My theory is that Qimir was a there for the coven massacre. He was then trained by one of the surviving members, but cannot be part of the coven as it is only for women. Similar to how the Dathimir witches empowered Maul, but did not let him be a part of their group. The coven survivors then sent Qimir to exact revenge. And when he is defeated, the Jedi counsel will dismiss that he used the Sith name.

He could have found a Sith Holocron, perhaps even darth Banes who had the cortosis connection. That way he would have training from a powerful sith, making his power and raw skills more believable, he'd know of the sith, want the most powerful acolyte to become an apprentice and continue the rule of two. He wouldnt know of the current sith, and could either carry on for another season or two, or be killed and not change canon

Maybe a flashback of Sol at 4 years old being tested & his parents & community being upset he is having to leave them. It would explain why Qimir asked if Sol recognized him & also the line about "I've accepted my darkeness. What have you done with yours?" Force users universally wanting to use the Force freely & without others controlling them.
