@@anydaynow01 Andor would have been much better if they had removed a bunch of the Mon Mothma and Luthen scenery. It took too much time away from Andor's story, and introduced a bunch of background that was unnecessary in a show about Andor. It would have served a better purpose in a show called "Shadows of the Rebellion" or "Dawn of a Rebellion" or something along those lines. Show how Mon Mothma, Senator Organa, Luthen, et al built the Rebellion while letting Andor have a story about Andor.

@@Dakarn At the time while waiting for new episodes it did feel like a distraction, but on a re watch essentially binging all the episodes together it gives Andor depth and a scope a lot of other SW series (outside of TCW/TBB and Rebels) don't have. You see how Andor is just a leaf in the wind so to say since all these disparate stories do affect Andor in some way, even if indirectly, and the nature of these larger events outside of his control keep pushing him to side with the Rebels "cult" hive mindset and actually believe their cause to the point where he was such a willing participant on the dangerous mission in RO. I also though the Dedra Meero / Syril Karn imperial arc was unnecessary, or could be dramatically dialed back, but again on the re watch I realized it gave the Andor/nascent Rebel Alliance story a much needed and layered counterbalance and seeing the two of them grow gave the story proper antagonistic pressure; a lot like how TCW retconned Anakin's character from being a frustrated reckless obnoxious crybaby in the prequels to being a proper Super Chad who slowly over many events rationalized how he would use the dark side "for good" in the cartoons. To me Andor plays out like if Disney gave HBO the IP for one story line. Just really great script writing, acting, sets and camera work and a good steady deliberate pace to the story. I just hope they can keep the build up through season 2.

At one point in history the force, decided it was non binary, and instead of a light or dark side, it was a spectrum emanated from the womb of transexual beings, not accepted by the Jedi, thus the force is neither good or bad, just a pronoun, and may the force be with they/them.

I love the straw man arguments they use to deflect their propaganda. I want escapism. Not a preachy weird show geared towards something no one can possibly relate to but a small fringe of society.

I still remember in 2015 thinking how lucky I was to have all this Star Wars coming to theaters. Now it was the worst thing ever.

I'm done. I've been done for a long time. Now, I find satisfaction in watching these shows crash and burn-something we all saw coming as soon as they were announced. Star Wars is in the wrong hands. I hope someone with deep pockets buys the franchise from Disney and does it right, or just lets it fade away. I grew up with the original Star Wars. Many of us did, and the fandom has evolved with deeper, more developed storylines. Star Wars is part of our nerd identity. It's no longer just a kids' movie; it's much more than that. I may not be gay, but I understand why some gay Star Wars fans want representation. However, Lucasfilm has made it clear they don't care about straight male fans. They want to attract new fans and replace us. If Lucasfilm wasn't so antagonistic and tone-deaf to what the majority of fans want, I believe we would be more open and accepting of shows like The Acolyte, which may have a more queer focus. But as a fan, I don't feel respected or wanted. So, Lucasfilm/Disney has turned me into an enemy, not a fan. As an enemy, I want to see them fail and fail hard. I will make sure to share my disgust for Lucasfilm/Disney with casual and major fans alike. Many people feel the same way, and we're showing our disappointment through our wallets and our voices. I believe someone should unite the fandom to put Disney on notice and actively champion change, either from within or by finding investors to purchase Lucasfilm and Marvel from them.

After watching Film threats reviews of the first 4 episodes of Acolyte, Star Wars is dead. EP 3/June 11th mark it on your calendar, it's the day Star Wars died. The Acolyte is that crazy ex that couldn't get their life together. Anything Star Wars made by Disney makes The Phantom Menace a 10/10 movie, at least that was Star Wars.

The first episode is surprisingly not bad. It doesn't waste time like Ahsoka, the Jedi act rationally and aren't psychos. Sol even grabs Oishu falling off a cliff (which Anakin should have done to Ahsoka when she was framed). The only complaints are about fire in space (but this has been in Star Wars for a long time), about Yord’s phrase “she couldn't survive this fall” - lol, she’s a Jedi and there’s no blood anywhere... and about the moronic phrase of the Knight of Ren “An Acolyte kills without a weapon” - considering that she uses knives, and he uses a lightsaber... it’s actually funny that small knives in Disney are now more lethal than lightsabers. The second episode is already raising questions. Master Torbin sat in a force field for 10 years and waited for May to commit suicide? How did he not recognize her the first time by her voice and the Force, if he did, why did he defend himself? The Jedi simply send Oisha to communicate with the merch seller, without even finding out from a local resident who he is and what he does, without rehearsing at all what she will say, and they are fabulously lucky - he immediately talks about poison and murder, despite the fact that he KNOWS that May has a twin... He is not arrested and is barely watched, so much so that he even met May the next day... Sol and Yord did not paralyze May with the Force, without waiting for her to use the dust trick (which all the Jedi must learn in school anyway, this is the most basic crap?) Master Kentakiu is a nudist... In general, it’s still interesting to watch, but the plot is already shaky, I think it will collapse somewhere before the finale.

They are placing star wars in the context of this world. The realities of this world do not exist in star wars for me. It's very subtle the references to our reality.

Nobody is threatened by gay, nobody is phobic of gays. Most of us don't care about gay and as such it doesn't interest us when you pack your shows full of gay themes. Let me put it this way: if you aren't interested in cars, would you go see a movie like Fast and Furious? Probably not right? Does that make you carphobic? Again probably not right? How hard is this to understand.
