Even to this day I've never understood the hatred to the prequels. In all 3 movies we got a combined total of 50 minutes of lightsaber duels. Even if you go back and check it out the CGI is better than what crap we get now. The fact that they ruined Mandalorian seasons 3, book of Boba, Obi-Wan, I mean, Jesus christ. At least we got to see the return of look before the end of star wars. Sheesh, at least we got that. Destroying star wars this badly was such an intentional move. They killed it on purpose. There's no way they didn't know this would destroy that IP.

@BC08 That's a strong possibility as well. However, I see The Last Jedi as more of a first assault. Nobody was expecting it then, and it definitely came as either a shock or a kick in the nuts( I know, because that's how I felt.) Even with all the terrible shows from Obi-Wan, to Ahsoka, there was still a sliver of hope like Mando season 1&2 and Andor. This Crap-O-Lyte is so far beyond the pale, there's just no returning from this. It's truly dead, and NO, somehow Palpatine will not be returning this time. Disney, you ppl blew it! Just put this I.P. in cold storage until you can find ppl that are competent and care about the property. We don't need our childhood heros parading down Main Street singing the "Y.M.C.A!" or Vader singing " It's raining men, hallelujah!" No thanks.

@BC08 Although we didn't know it at the time, looking in hindsight, I'd say it was definitely Kathleens first attempt. But, and I say this as a fan that was 6 when ANH came out, It wasn't definite at that point. The handwriting was on the wall, but there was still a sliver of hope left. Especially after Favreau gave us 2 good seasons of The Mandolorian. Let's be honest, they really had a good chance and enough good will left with the fans that they could have turned it around. And it really looked that way for just a fleeting moment. This Crap-O-Lyte, well there's just no coming back from this debacle. This is an across the board rejection of the bastardization of one of the world's formerly most valuable I.P.s I just don't see them recovering from this one.

The moment you realize the force doesn’t exist and that it’s “a thread” the happier you will be.

Disney hired KK and thinks she is equivalent of not better than George Lucas himself. They want a woman in charge so badly, this will make future endeavors to fear actually talented women now. They are all toxic is how this works.

They literally cannot fire Kennedy. She has a non-termination clause in her contract. Only way to fire her is if the board votes to, which they just voted to reinstate Iger so they seem to be on board with what they're doing to proactively destroy every one of their IPs. Most likely for an easier acquisition by Apple, who Iger worked for and is on record vowing to aquire Disney for Apple. From a business stand point, everything they are doing is antibusiness. I'm really surprised the FTC hasn't launched an investigation into Disney at this point. When your a company that big with that amount of employees, those at the top cannot proactively destroy the company pr face a massive class action because the ones at the top won't lose their jobs and you cannot actively sacrifice your employees like this. I give them another half year or so before we hear about the FTC launching a suit. Then again, we hear all the time that Disney is basically a cult.

I got in a small debate with someone about why the “fire in space” scene in the Acolyte was different from scenes in previous content (like the Death Star exploding in a ball of fire). My main point was that The Acolyte scene practically screams at you to notice how dumb this is where the other scenes are merely for effect. Afterword I realized that there was an analogy here. The Acolyte show is that silly fire in space drawing attention to how bad Disney Star Wars actually is. How “off” Star Wars is and has been under Disney. Like that fire in space, Disney’s Star Wars just shouldn’t exist along side Lucas’s Star Wars. And The Acolyte is waking a lot of fans up to that. Just like that fire in space, it pushed past fans ability to maintain their suspension of disbelief. It remains to be seen, though, if people will go back to sleep and continue to hold on to a misbegotten hope that Star Wars will ever be good again. Not under Kathleen Kennedy, and not under Disney it won’t.

I can't wait until I can just ask AI to make me a Star wars trilogy of movies based on the Timothy zahn books
